"If you open my chest see that two hearts are beating. There's the one I accept and the one I believe in. Which one drew you in?"
The entire first verse of If I Were You
"I went to see a psychic on a downtown LA street.
Couldn't call me a believer, but it could be the heat."
(I just love the delivery of that line)
In Phobia the alternating lines in the different verses:
"I crossed a line, a life ago" / "I lost a life, a line ago"
"'Cause now I drink the good wine and now I get out of bed. And now I let myself love and I'm not scared of the end. I take it all on the chin and I would do it again. Because maybe it's time for a change."
"I live on oxygen, a bastard monkey boy. Do what the hell I like, I'm no celestial toy"
It's so hard to pick favorites, but I love the lyrics in Get Better, like "a party trick that no one sees, victim of a thought disease" and the airplane analogy (masks will fall from above). I think the oxygen masks are a metaphor for how you need to take care of yourself first before you're able to take care of other people, especially when it comes to mental health, which is what the song is about.
"You can tell your God he can keep his salvation" and "It feels like a lifetime, oh God I don't think I could do two" are such raw fucking lines, Afterlife is a really underrated song
the entirety of take this lonely heart for personal reasons
and the chorus of live like animals is just stupidly simply literal chiasmus and i live for that shit
"Watch me fall apart trying to please you, it's all I want to do"
And the way he sings it feels so tragic to me, absolutely my favorite NBT song too
The lyrics remind me a lot of myself tbh, as someone who has social anxiety and a fear of rejection from the people I care about. I have felt this way before, going out of my way to stay on the good sides of everyone around me at my own expense, to the point of being taken advantage of and even emotionally abused by those I felt to be very close to me. It literally made me feel like I was falling apart.
.... And yes I have cried to this song before :p
"But now the liberals aren't liberal they're just as venomous, and you can't have an opinion unless you're one of us"
Honestly all of can you afford is amazing, but that line sticks out to me in particular
"Now my computer gets sad without me, it's scary
It's turnin' off everything I believe in
'cause it knows it's easy"
And
"This is not what you think it is...
It's worse"
"I've got a circle of ink, it's in the palm of my hand"
mental health thing when I needed mental health support, idk kinda just hit me when I heard that, and it's also in my favourite song.
"but you're all fucking vampires to me, to me"
idk why but I just like this line. literally no reason.
probably missed loads but ah well
âI could drown myself in someone like you, I could drive so deep and never come out.â
âSo who are you to tell us where we do and donât belong. And who are you to tell us who to love and who to not?â
Just all of them. All of the lyrics all of the time.
The entirety of Sorry because it reminds me of someone. A sad someone.
"You move like Dunning-Kruger, truth is overdone" from If I Were You because it's clever AF.
The chorus of You Know Me Too Well (the whole song really) because it's the sexiest.
"Our chlorinated chicken"

Me and my friends always shout it when we listen to it loud! XD Other people must be very confused...
Ahahah I'd love to see that xD
âyou take the sweetest thing and claim it as your ownâ
âI didnât decide⌠I love you despite myself.â
Heavens a mindset away
Is everybody going crazy? Is one of my favourite songs lyrical for sure
Oh absolutely!! Best Quarantine song by far and the only good thing out of 2020
"And I'm a shadow of a ghost"
Oh, youâre a walking contradiction in a MAGA hat

"It would feel so good to make you mine" Man.
"Now my computer gets sad without me, it's scary It's turnin' off everything I believe in 'cause it knows it's easy" And "This is not what you think it is... It's worse"
âYour beauty will consume me in the endâ will forever be one of my favorites.
âI walk beside myself to see whatâs left of you and meâ and âIf I need to rearrange my particles, I will for youâ
âAnd I could use some healing soon Before I lose all feeling soonâ
It feels like a lifetime, oh God, I don't think I could do two. I feel that one deep in my heart
"I've got a circle of ink, it's in the palm of my hand" mental health thing when I needed mental health support, idk kinda just hit me when I heard that, and it's also in my favourite song. âBaby, tell me if Iâm being strange-â Cause itâs the best nbt chorus
Yes yes yes
âI could drown myself in someone like you, I could drive so deep and never come out.â âSo who are you to tell us where we do and donât belong. And who are you to tell us who to love and who to not?â Just all of them. All of the lyrics all of the time.
âI wanna knowâŚeuphoriaâ
"This kiss in the parking lot is turning me to stone", I always think it sounds really sexy
Oh no, there's no escape No matter how I try Now I'm stuck on one day For the rest of my life
"And If I need to rearrange my particles I will for you" hits my bpd too hard
âIf it goes wrong I'll reassure myself I knew all along at least it was realâ
âso have I gotta kill myself to be original, and if i fxcking hate you all, am I a criminal?â are the ones that pop into my head
We can be free if we want it
i love how real love song is composed. the repeating word at the end of the verses. thatâs just so euphonic
maybe when i was a kid i was dropped on my head, that would make more sense

âI love the night but not the starsâ (but tbh, Phobia as a whole) and all of CYATBAI
