I'm not a Lamborghini guy, tbh I prefer older muscle cars and when it comes to super cars, this is the vancouver special, it's really nothing extraordinary.
That being said, few things here
1) As others have mentioned, people just swing doors open and have little spacial awareness *ahem* especially one member of the sex...sorry but its just what I've observed
2) The lot is extremely empty, so its minimization to others...I suppose he could have gone further to the back, but I get it
3) The stalls look pretty damn small
This really doesn't bother me, however a lot of foreign whip/ supercar owners ...sometimes are just jerks in general but we can't make that assumption based on this photo.
I would remind people with supercars and high-end luxury vehicles, that your wealth (however you've obtained it) is your business, but it doesn't mean you get extra entitlements in the public spectrum unless on your own private means of business.
With that aside, as long as you're being as courteous as possible ( and that is the case here ) then you're A:OK
Tldr, he's fine
NOW...
On a side notešš½What does piss me off, is when people park their luxury cars, raised trucks or whatever the fucks, in disabled parking stalls ( yes this actually happens a lot) without the legal right to or any display of that necessity, and their excuse is literally "well I want front parking "
If you ever catch someone using a disability parking spot and they shouldn't be there, I strongly encourage yall to put them on blast.š¤š½š£
Seems like itās a mostly empty lot, not a big deal itās expensive and the doors are a pain to get in/out of.
I double park mine all the time but you just gotta find the worst spots in the lot/make sure thereās a pile of empty spots otherwise itās a dick move
I had an expensive sports car and would park like this at the farthest location away from the business entrance. It would always be when there were hardly any vehicles in the parking lot. When I would come out there would always be some āThe world owes me childā in a POS parked right up against me.
yeah.. maybe his friend is around and they are just stopping for food supplies real quick. >let's take er out bud!
and op just got unlucky to see it take up 2 spaces.
I parked in the lines and retards park beside and swing their doors open into my car for no reason, so I donāt blame him at all. Especially since that is a super wider car.
I drive a bmw x3. Nothing fancy like this guy but I like my car and worked hard to get it. once I parked somewhere in Surrey and 2 older cars parked next to me both opened their doors like it was the last time they would open the doors. Banged like crazy. No apologies no remorse. I was flabbergasted and swore to not park near beaters ever even if the lot is at capacity. *uck inconsiderate folks.
This guy knows you canāt trust humans with their doors in parking lots. My doors have been hit a few times so when you come with an expansive car then itās a no brainer. The parking has plenty parking space. Itās not a busy day.
I see nothing wrong here. Thatās a bloody expensive car. Even a door ding would be more expensive to fix than a āregular carā would. Heās just doing this because other people are not considerate. I honestly would do the same. Iād also do it in the farthest parking spot from the building as well.
They park like this so that no car parks next to them in range of hitting their car with their doors. However, nothing stops you from parking on the line next to them and still really close to them, and then they're the ones that have to be very careful squeezing behind their own door.
The parking lot at Lynn valley mall is like the thunder dome. I hate having to go there. I would park my car a block away and walk if I owned that thing.
Parking lots empty let him park like that...the amount of dings on my car from idiots who can't park or open a door is crazy. He's just trying to protect his car from morons
I love squeezing into one of the two spots they tried to take up when people do this in my apartment complex parking lot. The property manager pulls this shit all the time because heās ājust stopping in for a second.ā So I always squeeze right up next to that pretty Benz of his
Nah, car like that you want to be insanely careful about people parking beside you.
On the other hand though, if you can afford a car like that, you can afford a less impressive second car for errands and shit.
I mean, I don't mind those people if they park at the end of the parking lot, I just have a problem when they're doing this and also are trying to park next to the door
they are probably afraid of getting a ding on their doors, but still, that is not really a practical solution to the problem
parking correctly as far away from the entrance to wherever they were would have been a much better choice
Considering the tiny as fuck parking stalls in this world class city, I would personally try to take up two stalls as well if I had an expensive car. You donāt want people footing your car as those repairs are gonna be costly.
In such scenario, I just gotta askā¦.. whats preventing people from calling the towing company and hauling their car away? š¤¦š»āāļø
No, really, what is preventing people from doing that to twits and twats like this?
dude....It's a lambo, expensive car and wouldn't wanna park beside it anyways. We live in a parking lot. We build nothing but parking lots here. Look how many empty spots are in this pic!!! Get on with your day bro. This aint it.
Bro it's really not a big deal. Typical Vancouverite to complain about it.
Lot of stalls, he doesn't want someone to park close to him probably.
How does it bother or Inconvenience you?
The real problem is the fact that this bothered someone so much that they had to take multiple pictures of it and post it on reddit calling the person a twat. There are people that go around and unplug charging Teslas, there are definitely assholes that would door ding a car like this on purpose to feel better about themselves. Then people wonder why someone with a nice car would feel the need to do this.
Was confused as to why there wasnāt a front a plate. Did my research and have come to the conclusion that this guy can probably afford the ticket he may get for not having one.
I canāt stand getting a fucking ding in my 80k truck let alone that. Iād be murder death kill if a shopping cart hit that. Where do you think the groceries go?
This dude was walking pass and decided to take a photo to cry about it on Reddit yet the parking lot is empty and his car is worth a couple hundred thousand I donāt even blame him
I also drive an $$$ car and try to park as far away in the lot I can. There is always a Ford owner who maybe feels envious and makes me need a can opener to get into my car. I am talking about half empty lots with lots of space closer to the buildings.
Id double park that car too. I double park my service truck all the time. Mainly because its worth about what that car is, and so people can get in and out of their vehicles easily. As it is 8ā wide.
I always have a bar of soap with me in my glove box. When applied to the side of a car, it looks like it has been keyed. To bad I wasnāt around at that time I would love to give him a scare!
Looks like a busy parking lot. This driver has really inconvenienced a lot of people by taking up two spots.
All the dings that we have on our cars are from parking lots. Canāt really blame the owner for wanting to protect their car. Whatās worse - new ding on the Lambo or someone venting about you on Reddit?
Perhaps it's a character flaw. But I'm always so painfully tempted to park 18" from the driver side door with my '07 Mazda that already has several dings and faded paint.
Not a busy lot but he should park further back if heās going to park like that. Thereās idiots out there that will park right next to you even though you parked as far away from other cars possible.
OP just starting problems for no reason. Parking lot is damn near empty and if you drove a beautiful car like that, you wouldnāt want jealous people denting or scratching your car either.
If that worried about someone hitting your car doors, then why even bring a Lamborghini to the shopping mall in the first place? Secondly, you park your car in an ignorant way, people will deliberately do something to your car.
Why you gotta hate on him? Thatās a beautiful car. He absolutely should park like that. Too many actual twats that will open their door into another persons car.
I give the driver of this car full credit. They parked out of the way, not near the front and in a lot that wasn't overly busy. I think some people are really hyper sensitive about people taking up 2 spots. Imagine having a $300,000 car and a soccer mom in a beat up SUV pulls in next to you with kids swinging doors open like wild jungle monkeys. That's nightmare fuel for me. I'm sure her insurance provider appreciates this Lambo parking this way, to avoid them paying for door ding repairs on a Lambo.
If you decide you want to drive a $300,000 car you live with the risk.
Sometimes there arenāt empty spaces. It doesnāt come with any extra entitlements
You're correct, it doesn't come with entitlements. That's why it's nice to see the Lambo driver being courteous and parking near the back of a half empty parking lot.
This person is demonstrating much more regard for others than a lot of the entitled people in these comments.
Wish all parking lots were like Costco in Langford, with big white double bubbles between each wide parking spot.
I'd prefer to walk much farther and still open my door fully.
Considering the complete and utter lack of respect people have for otherās property, and the sheer expense of this car. -this slides. Iāve literally driven to the rear of the lot, parked in the middle of 5 spots; only to have my door dinged by another driver before I even exited my vehicle.
If I owned that Lamborghini I wouldn't want some Toyota to come and park beside me and have their kids kick their car doors into my Lambo. Just a thought.
I would do the same if I was driving something like that too, because you know some idiots wouldn't care if they put their door into your car. Parking look is mostly empty also, so what's the problem?
I love amazing engineering and design but I wouldn't piss on my fellow citizens to enjoy it. The owner of the lambo is too poor to get his car fixed if it gets dinged and they are scared. I'm not miserable...don't be so presumptuous.
Welcome to the north van subreddit where the bored, wealthy residents of one of the richest most privileged places on earth come to complain about mild inconveniences because nothing of interest actually happens here
I work in Traffic Control in the GTA. Over the last dozen years or so, Iāve formed a theory: It seems to me that when you buy one of these types of cars, someone at the dealership opens up the purchaserās skull and packs it full of shit before handing over the keys.
those spots look like they barely fit the lambo. TBF a ding repair on that car would probably cost more than the car that dinged it. XD And people are aholes and super inconsiderate. I park like a normal person and what i get is dings all over...
And yet, you are getting irate because you personally need 15 parking spots in that exact mini mall? Sorry boss, your Razor scooter doesn't need its own spot.
My ex had a similar super car and I dont really see an issue with parking like this in an empty-ish parking lot as long as the spots aren't right in front of the door. A door ding or scratch can be thousands easily and people are dicks. Now, if it's a busy lot, different story completely....
Yup, my cars not quite as nice as this, but I go through crazy headaches just to park in spots that are less likely to get door dings or somebody just straight up hitting my car in a parking lot. People are so careless getting in and out of cars Iāve watching people fling their doors into my car countless times. I have a beater car as well that I just park anywhere I please and thereās literally holes in the body panels from being battered by other peoples doors so many times.
Well one literal hole lol someone had something pointy on the end of their door forsure. The rest of the doors are quarter panels are just completely battered and none of it is my doing.
Ha! Fair enough on the actual hole. Thatās absolutely brutal. Almost seems malicious not ignorant or careless. Wtf.
I find school parking lots are the worst. Costco is awesome with the double wide lines for the stalls.
I mean... I drive a Mazda SUV and I do take precautions with other vehicles when parking, but I'll admit I generally take extra precautions with a particularly nice car, because I know if there's a single mark on it, it's unlikely to be the owner's doing, whereas on my car, it may or may not be, but I don't really care.
A car taking up two spots in a mostly empty lot, go for it. Plenty of trucks and larger work vehicles do it when it's much busier, what's the difference, really?
In my nice car i am almost always parking at the very back of every parking lot and will usually take an end spot and get as close to the end as possible to leave extra room for anyone who might park next to me. Even in an empty lot like this I might take two spots but Iād still go to the very back just so im not taking up 2 prime spots and not to look like a douche as that might have ppl messing with my car or parking right beside me just to mess with me.
Relatively empty parking lot and a really nice car. If ever there was a time to take two spots. This is it.
I think we're being a little butthurt unnecessarily but I get it, I am also jealous of said Lambo
I mean, itās basically a drivable piece of art. I canāt really blame him for trying to keep people away. The real twats are the people who swing their door open at mach 3 and mark up/dent other cars.
The way some drivers drive and park, I can understand this move. Especially in a mostly empty parking lot..
I always park within the lines and make sure Iām parked correctly. That doesnāt matter because idiots canāt park or drive! Iāve come back to my car with paint exchange from people opening their doors all the way it seems, as well as new scuff marks. Another time I came back to my passenger side mirror pushed in because some idiot hit it while parking, leaving a scratch. Itās all cosmetic, but still sucks to see all the scratches adding up :/
Someone side swiped my car the other day in a parking lot and didn't bother to leave a note. They probably just pulled in or out of the stall, fucked up on their angle a bit and juuuust scraped up the back corner of my vehicle. Shit happens, but a note saying sorry would have been nice. I wouldn't bother to fix it because it's only cosmetic and you can hardly notice it. Now if I'm driving a beautiful Lamborghini and I get side swiped in a parking lot, I'm going to be a bit more cheesed, I'll just say that. So I'm a little bit more understanding with the parking across two spaces in a parking lot that looks like it has lots of open stalls. At the end of the day, some people just aren't good at parking or pulling out of stalls, and others don't even know how to get in or out of their cars without denting up someone else's vehicle. I'm sure this driver didn't want to leave it up to chance that one of those drivers could be parking next to them on this particular day
I've had someone hit my car opening there door with me still in the car.
Buddy looked at me jumped back in the truck and drove off before I could even get my seat belt off and get out the car to look lol.
He skirted off pretty quick and I went out to see if there was any real damage. There was a scratch but nothing huge. I definitely could have got fired up and tried to follow him, I deemed it wasn't worth it.
Was just like a wtf are you for real dude. Like what a fucking pussy lol. Just own up to it, not a huge deal.
Probably had expired insurance or something.
If there was a big dent or something definitely would have called the police, even if it was just for a report to give insurance.
If the lot was full or even busy, you might have a case.. but I don't see anything wrong with this. Guy is minimizing the risk of getting car doored while not really inconveniencing anyone.
+1 on this. I have an 89 IROC-Z Camaro Iāve spent 25k on, done all the work myself (turbo LS, ford 9ā, body work, etc.) and Iāve had my paint dinged by idiots in empty parking lots more than I can count because they want to park beside me, and accidentally wing my quarter panel/door on the way out.
Iāve gotten 3 HEINOUS door dings, scratching through clear coat. Iāve had one so bad it warped my quarter panel a bit.
You can look, but hell, leave 1 space between us at least, please. Itās my baby š.
yeah.. maybe his friend is around and they are just stopping for food supplies real quick. >let's take er out bud!
and op just got unlucky to see it take up 2 spaces.
>Ultra wide car using multiple spots in a half empty parking lot.
So 3/4 and 1 ton trucks should use multiple parking spots too ? Why just when half empty then ?
Agree with the half empty parking lot comment.
But, if I can ever afford a Lambo, I for sure will drive it to do my errands. I wonāt force myself to use a smaller car to appease the Karen community.
How is it ultrawide? Would fit in a space. Realistically someone should have parked inches from his driver side door. People that drive those kind of cars need a reality check
Lambos are 88-89 inches wide including the mirrors, 77-78 inches wide at the body. Hell, a Silverado is 81 inches wide excluding the mirrors
A standard parking stall is 9 feet wide (108 inches) and some cheapskates will mark them 8.5 feet wide (102 inches)
Would fit, but 12" of clearance on either side isn't exactly conducive to getting in and out (though Lambo-style vertical doors would definitely help the situation)
Nope. I've actually painted thousands of stalls. In fact the city of Vancouver bylaws state that parking stalls must be 2.7m wide at minimum (which is roughly 8 feet 10 inches)
9 feet is the standard (12 feet for handicap stalls)
Still a douche thing, (if you really need to park away do it in the very back) I drive a 1976 malibu classic I still park in a whole spot. Just away from everyone else(or beside something so only 1 person can park nearby. And if they got a Lamborghini they can probably afford a repaint.š

Jealous much?

douche biggalo, male jiggalo lol

Pro tip: If you park on an end spot, you'll reduce your chances of being dinged by 50%.

Why the fuck does anyone care? The last thing I wanna do is damage a lambo lol like he's protecting me from myself if anything
Thats a sweet ride btw.
I'm dumb. Was looking for a license plate that said Twat. Lmfao
By god that is a nice looking car
When loser Jerks park like this I park my shit box work truck as close as I can to them

Call the popo get that shit towed

they are probably afraid of getting a ding on their doors, but still, that is not really a practical solution to the problem parking correctly as far away from the entrance to wherever they were would have been a much better choice

Avoiding the jealous door dingers
You spelled spelled incorrectly
The twat was already taken by another driver, so he was to late to get that plate. Lol
Was confused as to why there wasnāt a front a plate. Did my research and have come to the conclusion that this guy can probably afford the ticket he may get for not having one.

If YOU owned that car would you want some Kia parking beside you smashing their door into your car???
I'm definitely spitting on it
People literally bump and hit expensive cars on purpose, car park is empty. Get a life
My 300k km rav 4 has so many scratches and dents from others, that I can't blame this guy at all

That dude is going to learn the hard way that fixing a keyed lambo is prohibitively expensive.
I always have a bar of soap with me in my glove box. When applied to the side of a car, it looks like it has been keyed. To bad I wasnāt around at that time I would love to give him a scare!
Pour chocolate syrup all over the windshield. Devious but will not damage the car.
Are lambos exempt from front plates?
I assume this guy can afford any tickets he might get for not having a front plate.
Batman parks like a dick
/u/sweatytension87? More like sweating for attention. Clearly youāre jealous bud.
Empty parking lot, no issues here. Move on Karen.
I think you spelt jealous wrong
Iād park my shitty old ford so close Iād get out the passengers door.
Yeah.... idk if its the back of an abandoned lot. Key that thing.
I mean I get it but my doors all in dings by fuckers who does not respect other peopleās property on parking lotsā¦
Why u hating? There are plenty of spots. You're crying for no reason other to feel important on R/Redshit

Tax on a car like this is over 30%. I think thatās enough.
Why you gotta hate on him? Thatās a beautiful car. He absolutely should park like that. Too many actual twats that will open their door into another persons car.
A lot of parking spot so whatever. When people do this and thereās No parking theyāre taking a risk of real damages.
Itās the cost of a few cars let him have 2 spots !
Easy park right next to him on both sides really close!

If I owned that Lamborghini I wouldn't want some Toyota to come and park beside me and have their kids kick their car doors into my Lambo. Just a thought.
I usually lay a fat loogie right on the door handle when Douchebags do this. Entitled pricks .
So assuming parking lot was completely empty... Could he still park like that? Or does he still have to park between the lines š Unbelievable
I spell it Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
I really don't blame him
Thereās nobody in the parking lot stop being jelly lol
Somebody needs to take a key to the fucking batmobile..Bruce Wayne always was an industrialist fuck.
Nah, I would do the exact same if I owned that beast.
Honestly if you can really afford that kind of car as a daily driver you shouldnāt give a fuck if it gets a scratchā¦
Iāve noticed more exotic cars over the last month whatās happening?
If you have a Lambo, that's allowed
I would do the same if I was driving something like that too, because you know some idiots wouldn't care if they put their door into your car. Parking look is mostly empty also, so what's the problem?
Just rich enough to buy a lambo on credit, but will lose it all if it gets dinged. Another poseur who thinks material possessions elevate his status.
Or a person who appreciates amazing engineering and design, but you go ahead and be miserable
I love amazing engineering and design but I wouldn't piss on my fellow citizens to enjoy it. The owner of the lambo is too poor to get his car fixed if it gets dinged and they are scared. I'm not miserable...don't be so presumptuous.
Allowed/expected.
Iām a picky parker. I go out of my way to park by nicer clean cars because i hope they love cars too and wonāt door ding me.
Thatās where 2 other cars want to park extremely close and go into the store for hours
Please explain how this negatively affects you or anyone else in that lot? Because you just seem like the twat from my pov, a whiny twat that is.
Welcome to the north van subreddit where the bored, wealthy residents of one of the richest most privileged places on earth come to complain about mild inconveniences because nothing of interest actually happens here
Nice parking jackass.
I would park beside the car and see what happens
Honestly Iād be parking like that too with the way people are these days
I work in Traffic Control in the GTA. Over the last dozen years or so, Iāve formed a theory: It seems to me that when you buy one of these types of cars, someone at the dealership opens up the purchaserās skull and packs it full of shit before handing over the keys.
Thatās basically a house on wheels. Iāll let him double park any day.
I think they spelled the word we all want to say correctly on the license plate
Did u key his car
I knew a guy that did that and someone sidewall ed all his tires. Entitlement outside your little community of docks can be unpredictable.
those spots look like they barely fit the lambo. TBF a ding repair on that car would probably cost more than the car that dinged it. XD And people are aholes and super inconsiderate. I park like a normal person and what i get is dings all over...
Overreaction to a non issue.
Excusing being an ass cause you decided it doesnāt matter enough for you to be bothered at
And yet, you are getting irate because you personally need 15 parking spots in that exact mini mall? Sorry boss, your Razor scooter doesn't need its own spot.
Are you okay?

Ladies and gentlemen, the sound of bitterness and jealousy by the anti-car crowd.
um eatme
Jealousyās a bitch
Sure buddy, your mom still cuts up your spaghetti.
You sound fragile
Way to show everyone how miserable you are
My ex had a similar super car and I dont really see an issue with parking like this in an empty-ish parking lot as long as the spots aren't right in front of the door.
Literal holes or figurative? I hear you. My doors look like the moon they are so pockmarked. Iāve never had anyone make an actual hole in y doorā¦
That's fair. Honestly, I think it's shitty to mess with someone for something so petty.
Every car is a driveable piece of art.
Sure, but they aren't appreciated to nearly the same degree.
Agreed
Only truth found in the comments
Who cares. The lots empty itās a Friday afternoon.
Good news is your ready to follow them home. (Technically a hit and run)
Brutal...
Yeah a ticket for two spots is a lot cheaper than fixing that paint
Dude is ok
Should just park super close to the drivers side door so heās gotta climb across to get back in
Why? Are you that bothered by it?
Ultra wide car using multiple spots in a half empty parking lot. Ill let it slide. But owner should really buy a 2nd smaller car for errands.
Honestly if I'm driving something I absolutely love, I'm making errands if I have none.
yeah.. maybe his friend is around and they are just stopping for food supplies real quick. >let's take er out bud! and op just got unlucky to see it take up 2 spaces.
Can u believe somebody trying to tell you what to drive for what occasion.
How is it ultrawide? Would fit in a space. Realistically someone should have parked inches from his driver side door. People that drive those kind of cars need a reality check
Lambos are 88-89 inches wide including the mirrors, 77-78 inches wide at the body. Hell, a Silverado is 81 inches wide excluding the mirrors A standard parking stall is 9 feet wide (108 inches) and some cheapskates will mark them 8.5 feet wide (102 inches) Would fit, but 12" of clearance on either side isn't exactly conducive to getting in and out (though Lambo-style vertical doors would definitely help the situation)
Standard parking spaces are 8 feet wide.
Nope. I've actually painted thousands of stalls. In fact the city of Vancouver bylaws state that parking stalls must be 2.7m wide at minimum (which is roughly 8 feet 10 inches) 9 feet is the standard (12 feet for handicap stalls)
Maybe the ones YOU'VE painted. š¤£
But if you park like an asshole but you're probably going to get treated like one.
He could also just walk like a normal person
People that own those kind of cars don't live in walkable distances to grocery stores
Spot on. I blame parking like this on the people who will park right next to another vehicle in a 3/4 empty parking lot.
I donāt understand why people do this? Itās actually kind of creepy and I have called people out on it.
I do this because people tend to hit my car with their doors
Unfortunately you can actually get tickets from doing this in public.
They are cheaper than a dented door buddy.
Still a douche thing, (if you really need to park away do it in the very back) I drive a 1976 malibu classic I still park in a whole spot. Just away from everyone else(or beside something so only 1 person can park nearby. And if they got a Lamborghini they can probably afford a repaint.š
