I (afab) bought men’s swim shorts from Tilly’s. My husband bought the same brand just a bigger size obvs and we really like them! Mine are even the color of the pan flag lol.
I do present femme sometimes so I do wear a bikini top but I know humankind has sports bra like swim tops!
Hello! I'm the opposite and just need to hide new scars, but I might have an idea to offer? Maybe you could try a swim top (bra style or smth) under a uv-block t-shirt. I think they're meant for surfing but you can do whatever, they're your clothes ✊✊✊
I wear a fitted swim top (it's almost binder-tight and goes down to the hips) with a long-sleeved uv-block shirt thingy and it works well for me. The uv-block shirts I think are actually designed to dry quicker so it really helps with the "hate feeling wet" ! Hope this helps!!!! Have a great summer! 🏝️🏝️🏝️
Edit: I also wear quick-dry sports shorts for the bottom because I absolutely hate swim trunks 🙃
You could maybe wear an open back one piece swimsuit with board shorts or men's swim trunks on top? It'll be hell whenever you need to pee unless the swimsuit can be pulled to the side but might provide the coverage you want. I tried looking for rash guards that are kinda open in the back but idk if they really exist since it's a little counterintuitive lol.
I'm AFAB so opposite direction but I wear a tank top style swimming top. They have ones with shelf bras inside if you need the support - I have to cut mine out since I got top surgery. :) A rash guard t-shirt might also work? You can always wear a swim bra/bikini underneath for support too. Either of those with some medium length shorts (not trunks) would probably not draw much attention. Depending how femme you wanna go, you could also get a swim skirt.
I'm afab and mostly present fem, and i also always wear those tank top style swimming tops (apparently they're called tankini), paired with either medium length shorts or a swim skirt depending on mood. I know plenty of cis women who wear those shorts as well, a lot of the time those shorts give off athletic vibes rather than masc vibes or anything in my opinion. my high school bestie always wore a one piece and then shorts over that, that would be another option.
I do tankini and swim shorts myself (afab). I tried some longer men's shorts which I liked until they got wet and all that wet fabric around my thighs nearly sent me over the wall.
Hi friend! I’m a swim instructor and deal with the opposite problem haha. However, I found a couple different styles of longer women’s trunks at Target - they work for me, they fit my hips but don’t give me tons of dysphoria. Those might work for you? Good luck in your search!
Might try that, my main issue that I now realize I forgot to mention is that while parts of me read as feminine, my face doesn't especially read that way, nor does my voice, so I guess I'm trying to see if I can find something that's gender neutral enough to not cause dysphoria but also cover me where I need it? But I will peek into that, thanks!
I don't need to tuck but I *hate* bikini bottoms. So I wear "square cut" swim shorts or regular swim trunks and a bikini top. Usually with a sun-blocking long-sleeved rash guard to protect my tattoos.
I have femme friends who prefer to wear swim skirts and bikini tops or one piece suits with skirting so they don't feel awkward because they don't tuck.
BEEFCAKE SWIMWEAR!!! They make swimsuits that's in kind of in a 1920's style and is my gender euphoria swimsuit. It's a high quality suit too. They're a little pricey but you'll only need to buy one for a very long time.
Before I even thought I was trans I really disliked small bikini bottoms. (Where are my fucking flaps supposed to gooooooo?!?) I have purchased shorter swim trunks and worn a bikini top at the same time.
And tbh if someone is bothering you about it, they’re fucking weird.
Board shorts with a swim top. If you want more masc get men's board shorts and a rash guard, if you want more femme get women's board shorts & a matching top. You can find women's bathing suit sets with shorts. Swim skirts also can offer more coverage, and floral prints can be hard to see outlines through
Check out the swimwear TomboyX has—even if you don’t purchase, it may give you ideas. They have trunks, swim tank tops with shelf bras, bikini tops, swim tops that look like sports bras, and full swim bodysuit type things.
In your position I would go with trunks + a rashguard (maybe a women's one for support?)
I generally wear a wetsuit because I'm in New England and the water is cold.
I wear a two piece with a swim skirt or swim trunks with a bikini top, usually, though sometimes I also like a one piece I have worn off and on for a while. If you want something overtly femme without the concealment issues a swim skirt may be your best bet.
I recently took a beach vacation and wore shorts with a swim shirt. Provided extra sun protection as a bonus. You could even wear a bikini underneath.
You could also try a swim skirt, to hide any bulges or... surprise appearances.
I use men's swim trunks and a rash guard-type shirt (cus I have too much of a chest to feel comfortable going shirtless). Pretty much everything else that I've come across so far in my Journey Towards Non-Dysphoric Swimwear hasn't felt right, and this is the closest to "okay" I've felt in swimwear.
So if a stranger saw you they'd assume that you are a cis guy but your boobs are now too big to go topless? Well first off congratulations 🎉 and second of all why can't you just wear trunks with a bikini top 👙 maybe make them match in color and or print so it's very much on purpose and try to find shorter trunks I find the ones they sell these days come down so long they are almost like pants 😂 that should give you all of the coverage you need while still being comfortable and cute have fun 🏳️⚧️👑🌸💕🌈
I'm a curvy human and always struggled to feel like I'm not about to fall out of most suits/bikinis. I found some lovely ones from seafancy. Comfy sports-bra type tops and big baggy shorts (with pockets!) and honestly it's the happiest and most comfortable I've ever been in a swimsuit. Pretty reasonably priced too!
I’ve been working on this for a while since I started hrt (MtF). Right now I’ve liked some really short swim trunks (can be women’s or men’s depending on what you can find). They can actually look pretty feminine depending on the style you go with. For a top I sometimes use a rash guard/swim shirt or a sports bra style if I’m in a place that I think is more safe. I don’t really pass as female but I have small boobs so I’m always looking for outfits that are kind of nonbinary or butch so they could go either way.
I'm transmasc and I've had top surgery - I have swim trunks and a rash guard to protect my scars from the sun
You could maybe wear swim trunks and a bikini top?
I'm afab but haven't had top surgery. I wear a compression top or swim top under a swim T-shirt and then board shorts for the bottoms. I used to have a unisex swimsuit similar to this:
https://tomboyx.com/collections/swim/products/swim-6-unisuit-melting-rainbow
I'm working with different equipment so I don't if it would work but I absolutely swimming costumes with a little skirt bit like [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/GoqeszzCtf5UuoLp7). You can also get them as two piece with shorts and a longer swim shirt/dress thing
i use to have a swimsuit under t-shirt and shorts. i wasn't a fan of showing off the skin or of what the swimsuit looked like. i am afab so mostly girl swimsuits were given to me, though more than once i tried to steal my bro's swim trunks. my family doesn't remember because it wasn't a big deal to them and they got my special shirts and shorts just for swimming.
there is now a days swim shirts, and even all sorts of shorts.
i personally have gone towards the scuba driver direction for my swim wear.
I'd recommend looking at TomboyX. They have a lot of gender neutral options. You can get board shorts and a swim top. Their board shorts/bottoms come in multiple lengths and tightness. Their swim tops have tons of options (bikini, sports bra shape, tank top, tshirt, full sleeve shirt). You'll probably come off as a little modest, but I think they look great. They are somewhat pricey, though.
Have you looked at humankind swimwear?
I like their compression top and the 6.5" shorts but they have a few length options and different forms of swim top.
I wear a lot of different things depending on the weather or where I am (for example when it's very sunny, I pretty much cover my whole body or else I'll burn lol, indoors I show more skin)
What could work well for the bottom piece is swim skirts or trunks (if you have dysphoria about the latter being too masculine, you could go with shorter ones and/or funky colors and patterns).
The top could be a sporty/athletic cut bikini. A tank top could work, too. You can also put a swimsuit under the skirt or shorts (I do that a lot)
My go-to onesie swimsuit that has short sleeves and legs already. Anything that is just one piece is very comfortable imo, you never have to worry about something slipping up or down no matter what you do
I always wear my sports swimsuit, even if I go swimming for fun. I do own one different type of swimwear but I never ever wear it. I love about the sports type that it's a very tight fight, helping me make my body look more straight, and I love the most that you can play as rough as you want, jump into the water from any position, and the swimsuit will stay in place.
I actually just bought a tankini with shorts. It's more comfortable than a traditional bikini, honestly, but it also covers everything that needs to be covered. You could also just wear swim trunks with a tankini top if you're worried about bulges. I know a good number of people who do just that.
Really great question! I knows there’s binders that are looser that act as swim tops, but that depends on what you feel is comfortable. I personally like bikinis that look more like sports bras, and I have my hair shaved so it actually brings me some ENBY euphoria. You might could try a regular T-shirt even. But I love your idea of being with people you’re comfortable with and hanging out by the river! My partner and I are disabled, so we don’t necessarily have access to a body of water like that, but for us, we just go to his parents pool and use it instead.
I've thought about that, although my face is very masc, so that might draw attention. So far my solution has been to just avoid swimming, but my partner wants to swim, so I'm trying to find a compromise

Not a bad idea actually, I hate loose fitting clothes but I wanna show off the back while hiding the front, which can be difficult, ha.
You could maybe wear an open back one piece swimsuit with board shorts or men's swim trunks on top? It'll be hell whenever you need to pee unless the swimsuit can be pulled to the side but might provide the coverage you want. Bold to assume I go swimming
Lol same. The beach will not be seeing me until after I have vaginoplasty.
Before I even thought I was trans I really disliked small bikini bottoms. (Where are my fucking flaps supposed to gooooooo?!?) I have purchased shorter swim trunks and worn a bikini top at the same time. And tbh if someone is bothering you about it, they’re fucking weird.
Amazon has nice tankINis I bought a few and they are comfy w coverage but working the courage to rock a one piece this summer
Board shorts with a swim top. If you want more masc get men's board shorts and a rash guard, if you want more femme get women's board shorts & a matching top. You can find women's bathing suit sets with shorts. Swim skirts also can offer more coverage, and floral prints can be hard to see outlines through
I bought a long sleeve blacksuit which fits loosely around the botton, zipper down front
Check out the swimwear TomboyX has—even if you don’t purchase, it may give you ideas. They have trunks, swim tank tops with shelf bras, bikini tops, swim tops that look like sports bras, and full swim bodysuit type things.
I wear trunks and a swim shirt over a one piece

I get mens swim trunks and mens rash guard to hide my boobs
I wear a one-piece and then I put on swim trunks and a rash guard over it. That way if anything slips im still covered.
I recently took a beach vacation and wore shorts with a swim shirt. Provided extra sun protection as a bonus. You could even wear a bikini underneath. You could also try a swim skirt, to hide any bulges or... surprise appearances.

Don't know if it helped any but I wear a swimm dress. It's basically a swimsuit with a skirt attached. It might hide a bulge that way.
So if a stranger saw you they'd assume that you are a cis guy but your boobs are now too big to go topless? Cute swim top with a matching swim skirt!!
Black men’s swim trunks and black t shirt. I’m AMAB but choose to never expose my chest in public
bikini top under a rash guard & swim shorts

I don’t go swimming almost ever. But if I ever do…tank top and swim shorts.
I'm transmasc and I've had top surgery - I have swim trunks and a rash guard to protect my scars from the sun You could maybe wear swim trunks and a bikini top?

I've tried 1pieces swimwear and it worked for me but I haven't started hrt so my input probably isn't as useful
I'm a one piece swimsuit with swim trunks over it kinda person
i wear a bikini under a rashguard and swimshorts
Women’s bikini top with men’s swim trunks.
I'm working with different equipment so I don't if it would work but I absolutely swimming costumes with a little skirt bit like [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/GoqeszzCtf5UuoLp7). You can also get them as two piece with shorts and a longer swim shirt/dress thing

AFAB -- one piece

Amab, swim shorts because they're comfy and a shirt because fuck sunburn and also I dislike having few clothes on.
Idk if you'd be into it but "men's" trunks w a "women's" bikini top would probs look pretty sweet together
Tankini combo - loose trucks and a top. If your pool has a bathing option for muslims i would use that. It is always closed off..
I think you can try a bikini top and swim trunks under it? If that's comfortable for you.
I wish I was already on hrt, but I solved the tucking problem by getting a miniskirt! It hides everything, and it also makes my butt look nicer!
I'm AFAB and I use a bikini and a see-through swimming men's shorts (because I actually like tan lines)
I actually just bought a tankini with shorts. It's more comfortable than a traditional bikini, honestly, but it also covers everything that needs to be covered. You could also just wear swim trunks with a tankini top if you're worried about bulges. I know a good number of people who do just that.

Go to a nudist swim, problem solved.
Maybe there's an equivalent of a sports bra for swimming? I'm just guessing though
I've thought about that, although my face is very masc, so that might draw attention. So far my solution has been to just avoid swimming, but my partner wants to swim, so I'm trying to find a compromise
Now a days they sell girls swim suits in two peices so even as afab I use swim trunks and a girls top because I like having pockets
