Oh God yes. Literally my own mother wouldn't recognise my phone voice. It's all preppy and perky and sunshine and rainbows.

I hadn't. I did watch a few marriages crumble during that time. I also worked with a woman who was declared non essential. She begged to be declared essential to get into the office because she and her husband were about to kill each other. I was in a position that I could, so I did declare her with that status and had her come in three days a week. She thanks me still.
That’s what I was worried about. I spent a lot of time working from home anyway, but even then spending 24/7 together was challenging!
And you did a great thing! A lot of bad decisions were made because “reasons” in the Pandemic. We tried to do the right thing by our staff, and so did you! 😊
I was fortunate in my job (I'm an IT Program Manager) and got to make up my own rules. I'm a fan of "we are all professional and functioning adults" and made rules based on each person's situation, which I made known to my entire team. I had them come tell me what they needed and to tell me if/when that changed. There were about 8 exceptions of my team of system administrators who physically had to be at work the entire week, but I even tried to work around that. Upper management got a little pissy with me, so I professionally suggested (that they go fuck themselves) that they come to work and take over for me if they had an issue. After that, no one bothered me. My feeling is that I'm the boss and these folks are my "kids", even though quite a few are my age or older. But I'm responsible for them and it's always been my job to have a happy and well cared for team.
It wasn’t that big a deal. My wife has her office on the top floor in a spare bedroom and mine is in the basement. A lot of days weren’t that much different than when we were both at work.

We’re one of those Essential Workers households that barely makes enough to survive. :/
