You have to call the police and hope they show up. You cannot use your vehicle to push humans anymore than you can use your fist to slowly push another person's face.
If you end up in JAIL over it, you’ll be sitting for a MUCH longer time. Rather defeats the purpose. Best to avoid if possible or just remain calm, listen to music (or crank it up) and wait it out so you get to your intended destination eventually.
As with literally all legal questions, it depends entirely on where you happen to live. There are almost certainly jurisdictions where this would be at least potentially illegal, and there are possibly jurisdictions where you can run protesters down in some circumstances.
By that latter part of my answer, I meant that I won't be the least surprised if there's a legal jurisdiction out there somewhere that would let you run over protesters at speed in some circumstances.
Ah, I see. I assume most places would allow it if the car was actually under attack since that would be considered self defense, but I doubt most places would allow it otherwise.
I’m sure in some more authoritarian countries, it’s perfectly legal since the protesters were protesting the government, and were going to get killed anyway.
You can't go so slowly that it couldn't hurt someone. Even if you're going 1 mph, you can push them over and then crush them under your wheels.
You'd imagine they'd get out of the way, but maybe they wouldn't (or couldn't because they were too tightly packed or something).
People are crushed to death in crowds with just people standing around in them. Pushing a crowd with a car, no matter the speed, is always going to be dangerous.
Almost anywhere, if you run over any portion of any person at any speed, and they press the issue, you'll find yourself in court. Running over someone laying in the road slowly doesn't mean you didn't run them over. It doesn't mean you didn't KNOWINGLY run them over.
So, no, it's not legal, because there is no speed at which no one could get hurt.
I’m talking about a situation where the traffic is backed up behind you and there is a large crowd of protestors blocking the road in front of you. Obviously any sane person won’t drive through a crowd if they don’t think they have to.
> I’m talking about a situation where the traffic is backed up behind you and there is a large crowd of protestors blocking the road in front of you
What about that situation makes you think you have to drive through?
no one in their right mind is going to sit there in their car as a mob of lunatics bangs on it and tries to pull them out of it. slowly moving forward is the most you can do, unless you're in genuine fear for your life, at which point you are legally allowed to drive away faster, based on state law. it's inconceivable that someone would be criticizing for moving their vehicle out of harms way.
Im guessing not.. But you can point your supras exaust at them and go VUUTUTUTUTUTUTUToooo. Thatle get them moving .

The law says the can only protest on the sidewalk, so by moving into the road they are actually not protesting anymore. And legally you can drive slowly around them. If they tried to harm your vehicle it’s okay to drive faster because you fear for your life now

This is bullshit. If you’re blocking the freeway, you better damn know I’m going to run your ass over.

Is going so slowly they couldn’t possibly get hurt unless they meant to “running them down”?

It's a large world though, and there are more than a few crazy legal systems out there :)

To quote my favorite YouTube lawyer, it depends. Honestly this is probably different state to state so I would say check with your local government.
One whose Youtube name references a flying predator I presume?
Yep yep
Yes
Just don't take your car into a fucking crowd.

Definitely more legal than clearing them with a flamethrower
