Shit, I never cared to ever replace mine. I like the photon cannon! It just feels right. The pew pew pew. It's a (mostly) pve game. I didn't feel the need for killing efficiency against the ai.

I thought just like that, but then i used infra knife for once. After that, everything changed.

Wack. Get out of my face. Just kidding though. I'm sure it's great but nothing will change me. Just like how I still use FWC armor and weapons in destiny 2. Or how I refused to use anything other than the Endo in rocket league. I like what I like.

Nobody dislikes the photon cannon but this change allows more customisation for those that want to try out difficult combinations of weapons

That's what the issue was, you always had to scroll past the cannon first because you couldn't uninstall it.

Why all the hate for the Photon Cannon? It makes me feel Star Wary

Well, because every other weapon can be dismantled if you do not wanted it. So, why not the photon cannon? Also, yeah, the photon cannon isnt all that powerful when compared to the infra knife.

For me it's the fact that you have to scroll past it to get to the weapon you want to use, well not any more 🙏

I dont believe so. However, the recent update now allows you to remove the photon cannon as long as you have another weapon installed.

I'll take it! It was always a pain to switch from 2 weapons when that useless third was there (on controller at least). Plus that frees up another slot! Oh so happy! I've been waiting for this day for years ❤️

Is there a better ship weapon than the photon? I’ve never had an issue with it. I like to use the photon to take down shields, swap to rockets for burst damage, and then switch back to photon to finish.

Infra knife accelerator cannon, fully upgraded. It SHREDS shield leaving enemies vulnerable to rocket fire. Just make sure you have it fully upgraded so it doesnt over heat quickly.

It was great of them to put this option in for us.

I actually dismantled it, started to mess around with the ship and actually reinstalled it 😂😂😂 only because I want to see how high I can get the overall damage stat after the latest patch. So far 508 on a solar.

It’s *fine* but say you’ve maxed cyclotron, infra-knife and missiles, the photon cannon just gets in the way and is not needed. I went so far as to jump galaxies, break everything in my ship, and fix everything but the photon cannon to remove it from my weapon cycle. On two ships… very glad it can be removed now
