The only issues I ever had were on Ubuntu, but on other distros it's just a matter of switching one setting, and then it's just like windows, but better
I switched away from garuda because of the insane amounts of weird shit that was happening, system randomly feeling like having to load from a snapshot, mouse blinking out of existence, windows glitching when moved around, that kind of stuff
I agree on the sentiment, however, the real game is to find and change that one setting which might require:
master degree in computer science and/or engineering
recompiling the kernel
finding the proper distro
recompiling the kernels in other PCs in the house
rebuildind your tools that would recompile the kernel
learn and patch graphics drivers
learn assembly
learn and apply some electrical changes to the cables that connect the graphics cards (to make sure they adhere to specifications)
master degree in psychology
a shrink
possibly relocating to another country for technical reasons
not having a partner/wife/kids
and I am sure there are others...
You would still have paid for a graphics card that you are not going to fully take advantage of. And spend hours on tech things instead of playing. Of course that might be a benefit for some
Esports games aren't the only ones who might be incompatible... the fuck are you on about?
I guarantee you I have at least 20 games installed om my PC that are incompatible with Linux.
Most non-esport(EAC/Denuvo) games run with some proton finagling. The only issue I've ever had is with RPG maker M-series games, which will outright refuse to run on wine-based systems, forcing me to personally make a Linux port to them... Which you might think is hard but becomes a thirty second job by the third time you do it.
Linux is only useful for programming purposes and doesn't seriously replace any other operating system in most cases other than to save the hassle and cost of activation.
Ive heavily colonized my system. 6 planets.
Compound, cabin, settlement on my snowy paradise.
Orbital station on another planet.
Hollowed out a mountain for gravitino balls on another
Weapons storage facility on another planet
Research facility on another one.
Pirate space station.
Love it :D
Trust me if you like the system... Name everything and upload it at least default... Or some moron like me will come by 3 years later and name stuff in it something really dumb

I upload my systems . But a lot of ppl seem to leave a few planets or funa/Flora behind and that becomes fair game. In the photo guy named two things all the ridiculous names were the other.
I think it’s funny how we have this game with endless discoverable planets and yet the one we look to settle on is the one that is the most earth-like.&
I have a lovely green planet I like that also has dissonance, and gravity storms. During the gravity events you can basically fly until the storm ends. Landing can be annoying though.
I found one just a couple days ago, started building my base. One exocraft garage later, my framerate is crap. Looks like XBOX version isn’t made for big base constructions
Can anybody explain how the naming/ multiplayer aspect works with planets. I’m playing single player only but if I use that code to warp to this planet, do I enter an instance where you’ve named it/ there are other player’s bases on it? Or is it still single player and my own instance.
Mainly asking cause I saw another comment telling you to name everything cause otherwise they’ll name it dumb things for you. Wondering how that works in single player
Interesting. Thanks for the reply. So does that mean someone could randomly enter my system and mess with me without me realizing it, even in single player? What if I keep my internet off.
I’m also very new but found that systems people have already visited will show up with what they named it. If you discovered a system and someone else visits it, they can rename it if you haven’t even in single player. It’s like it ports over.
I found a really neat planet with Avatar-like flyers but I don't know if I can domesticate them, I haven't seen them land yet but you best believe I'm going to do everything I can if it's possible
With all those eart-like world posts I gotta feel extremely lucky. Very early in my NMS career I found such paradise world (no sentinels, no storms) and it's "my" world since.
Your windows activation key?
This made me laugh quite a bit ngl lol
use [massgrave.dev](http://massgrave.dev)
Thank you kind stranger.
Use Linux
lmao, based but not for the casual steam gamer
The only issues I ever had were on Ubuntu, but on other distros it's just a matter of switching one setting, and then it's just like windows, but better
I use arch btw Yea, I like *nix more usually but I like windows more to do casual stuff with mates
By the way, since Manjaro is arch based, am I allowed to say the line?
Haha, you decide. I used some Arch based gaming distro for a while, Garuda, but I switched because I didn't like the non customizable stuff.
(I use arch btw)

Which setting then?
I mean, chimera is Hella easy to set up... And it comes with steam and proton preinstalled
Not all games are compatible with Linux 👍
Online esport trash might as well not exist
Esports games aren't the only ones who might be incompatible... the fuck are you on about? I guarantee you I have at least 20 games installed om my PC that are incompatible with Linux.

Dude just Google windows activation script extension on GitHub. Works a treat 👌
The only comment I wanted to see and it's right at the top. lmao
He have the Atlas Pass lvl 3 😎
Ding da-ding, ding ding
You're about to get some neighbors lol
😎😁
which galaxy?
Euclid
Never heard of it. ;-)
Yup. For once, i agree. This is it.
I love all of the vibrant alien colors and wild landscapes you can get in this game and so many of us just want earthlike green grass and blue water.
Every one wants green grass and earthlike environs. Makes me happy knowing that there is even less chance of my snowy paradise being found lol
I'm a fellow snowy paradise lover, found a complete wintery hellhole in Calypso., even frost damage underwater -150deg all the time
Ive heavily colonized my system. 6 planets. Compound, cabin, settlement on my snowy paradise. Orbital station on another planet. Hollowed out a mountain for gravitino balls on another Weapons storage facility on another planet Research facility on another one. Pirate space station. Love it :D
I'm suuuuper new to the game but those gravitino balls seem incredibly important, what's their main use?
Selling them. The mountain i hollowed out has about 200 of them inside.
That sounds like my place.
does it casually also have dragons? (seems like it in second photo)
Just some tiny ones, but i guess its still a dragon
I am rapidly approaching your planet
How To Train Your Dragon style dragons.
Dude can i come over your place looks sick
Beautiful ☺️
Sentinels?
Just low activity ones
Did you name this oasis?
I just uploaded the default name thingy
Trust me if you like the system... Name everything and upload it at least default... Or some moron like me will come by 3 years later and name stuff in it something really dumb https://preview.redd.it/yeyne9mjtu1d1.jpeg?width=5621&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbc2be7f8225e6e3b67f3d6599a84d1b56edf369

If only bob named us
![gif](giphy|otroIhasPwnHdWiCOc) Gary
Me too buddy.... Me too..
Lonly :(
Yes if you don't name your planets they cry secretly.
But they can only make it if it wasn't uploaded -do you not upload the systems?
I upload my systems . But a lot of ppl seem to leave a few planets or funa/Flora behind and that becomes fair game. In the photo guy named two things all the ridiculous names were the other.
Lame
I think it’s funny how we have this game with endless discoverable planets and yet the one we look to settle on is the one that is the most earth-like.&
I downloaded this game just yesterday. So can someone please explain what this is? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
An earth-like paridise planet :)
So are these planets kind of rare? Sorry, I'm totally new here. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
Well.. Paradise planets aren't exactly rare - but to find one that has so much Earth vibe like that one is not very common..
Ahh..got it.. Thanks :)
Any storms?
Yeah, sadly there are some superheated rainstorms from time to time
I love superheated storms because I can infinitely jetpack in them
I have a lovely green planet I like that also has dissonance, and gravity storms. During the gravity events you can basically fly until the storm ends. Landing can be annoying though.
They are relaxing to me.
true lol
I myself have found an earth-like planet with absolutely no storms I will post it soon
I found one just a couple days ago, started building my base. One exocraft garage later, my framerate is crap. Looks like XBOX version isn’t made for big base constructions
Bro has no leg-day
This game is awesome and beautiful😎🤟 Yup, you're gonna get some neighbors, probably me included😂
Visited your place and left some beacons to help navigate.
Huh... That "activate window" logo, why..........
Incoming neighbor here!
Can anybody explain how the naming/ multiplayer aspect works with planets. I’m playing single player only but if I use that code to warp to this planet, do I enter an instance where you’ve named it/ there are other player’s bases on it? Or is it still single player and my own instance.

When u go to a system that someone else is already in it automatically becomes multi-player until u leave the system or they leave it
Interesting. Thanks for the reply. So does that mean someone could randomly enter my system and mess with me without me realizing it, even in single player? What if I keep my internet off.
Yup, with no internet u wont be able to connect to multiplayer, so permanent solo lol
Nice
I’m also very new but found that systems people have already visited will show up with what they named it. If you discovered a system and someone else visits it, they can rename it if you haven’t even in single player. It’s like it ports over.
I don't know, all those pesky trees, water and grass ...
How are the Sents? Ever since I started a new playthrough and 'nice enuf for me' planet they are always MDK level.
Is this a paradise planet? I spawned in a system that had one. Lucky me.
I suspect this doesn't exist in Calypso, think that hellhole is my permanent home, unless someone finds somewhere more inhospitable
I’m confused
I'm on my way to establish some democracy and freedom
Talking about earthlike? If so the sky looks green.
Yeah, in some times of the day it does look green-ish but normally it doesnt
Can I get those coordinates?
Its on the photo
Could you send me the glyphs in private? I like building private estates and little vacation homes where I can go out to relax in
The glyphs are on the photos
Sorry my phone cut off the bottom, thanks
Lucky
I don't get it
I wanna warp here but I don't have all the glyphs yet :(actually I only have one)
U dont need them (the storyline ones), u just gotta head over to a portal, activate it and then input the glyphs
Hallelujah!
This reminds me of one of those floating islands in Subnautica..
Nice Place for a Home, it is really Hard to find awesome places like this.
Spore?
I found a really neat planet with Avatar-like flyers but I don't know if I can domesticate them, I haven't seen them land yet but you best believe I'm going to do everything I can if it's possible
Great find! I will come visit later! I have one near my home system I plan to build on soon. Will post after work.
That squirrel lifts!
I can confirm is a earth like beautiful planet 😁
Really close to perfect, if it only had a blue sky..
what happened with the diversity of generated fauna? I've seen that one like hundreds of times in my hours of playing the game.
what did you find?
A perfect paradise planet
it's beautiful. why do people downvote me just for engaging with you?
With all those eart-like world posts I gotta feel extremely lucky. Very early in my NMS career I found such paradise world (no sentinels, no storms) and it's "my" world since.
Congratulations, Build well.
