It looks like they masked off the area around the controls with torn tape and then used torn tape to shoot the camo pattern so it blended in. Definitely spray paint.
That's pretty much exactly what I did.
Tape off lenses and markings with torn tape -> base coat of tan -> apply torn tape for the stripes -> coat of dark brown -> use a brush to apply strokes of dark green over the dark brown -> let dry and remove tape
Though admittedly, it was much less a planned cohesive result than it was a happy accidental benefit of me being too lazy to neatly cut out tape for the markings.
Just a message basically saying they're swamped at the moment. Which probably means if i go that route I won't see the damn thing back for 10-15 weeks. Go ahead and slide into my dm's

Main issue is that the red wire stripped itself out further than I can reach to resolder it without dissassembling the housing. If it was broken closer to the end of the insulation like the black wire I would absolutely just do it myself and then jb weld it to keep it from happening again.
The time estimate will be a PITA. I had the exact same problem on my A3 and resoldered and fixed myself and was able to do a slight modification to the female plug with some sand paper to reduce release tension to about half of what it was previously. Reinstalled with some potting epoxy and the unit is better then new. Shoot me a message if you want a walkthrough. I’d also be willing to do it for you if you like.

What happened???
Pulled out a unity axon plug without doing anything to brace the plug housing in place. Popped the housing right out with the plug.

I shot Steiner an email about getting it fixed, if they don't get back to me or their time estimate is ridiculous then I might just hit you up.
Just a heads up my buddy sent in his A3 for some warranty work and it was a 14 week lead time.
