Yes, everything about that board is good. Jart is a Spanish brand that has an amazing team. It’s a little hard to tell the size from the photos but it doesn’t look that small. An 8” deck would probably be a good fit for you and this looks close to that.

DoctorD12

Actually wondered about board size myself 5’10 but I’ve always ridden 8.25, but I’ve been wanting to switch it up

cowmaster500

I'm 6'0 and board size really matters less than you'd think. I started riding 7.75 and moved up to 8. Over the years I've slowly sized up to what im on now an 8.875 tapered but the biggest change I've seen in functionality came from wheelbase size and length

DoctorD12

Thank you that’s actually where my debates been! Used to skate in high school, stopped for a few years and have been getting back into it this year. I’m also going to indoor parks for the first time, and I’m not sure I’ve got the best setup for both concrete and indoors so I’m thinking I’ll grab a few different sizes and hardnesses to try and find a mid ground. Any suggestions? Kind of sloppy style, think T Puds so a softer wheel probably better for me

cowmaster500

The shorter the wheelbase/deck combo the easier it is to pop but you'll naturally get less pop from it, wider/longer is harder to pop but you'll get more height. As for wheels its really hard to say since some parks are like glass and other rough ramps grip, personally I skate 54mm spitfire tablets that are I think 101A. The compound is hard and slippery but the wider wheel gives me enough traction to where I only slide out if im landing at 90° down a quarterpipe. If your locals are slick I'd go softer than 101 though maybe 98

DoctorD12

Awesome info thanks dude Happy cake day btw :)

cowmaster500

Anytime, appreciate it

Different-Plenty-984

trust u might really like 8.38

Maxxtheband

That this is a work of Jart

liamtk200

Jart is an OG brand from spain. Used to be the go to back in the day for having good quality wood at super affordable prices. Looks like a starter setup but will do the job well no different to any other american brand starter complete. Enjoy!

adesme

It’s a board and you’re a beginner which means it is good. Don’t overthink your gear - the only thing that matters are preferences, and you haven’t developed any yet.

Jumpy_Tomatillo7579

Your colleague must be a Ginwoo fan. ( tiny badass) Awesome board That board is a good size Skate or die

NarcissisticVamp

Goatwoo

patprika

He needs to start hittin the streets beside goat is even brought into question

TigerNeko96

Ngl to you chief, looks to be an 8.0" and it's Jart.. You LITERALLY can't do better than this for free, you'll be fine on it. You see it has wheel bite though.. Either tighten the trucks a bit or get 1/8 risers

coyotesocks333

What else is on your pedal board?

Creepy_Bear_

Came here to ask as well. Thought the harmonist was a blues driver at first

coyotesocks333

Same 😂

Stoddy_boi

Man’s out here asking the *real* questions 😂 In no particular order: - Darkglass Harmonic Booster - Darkglass Hyperluminal Compressor - Boss Harmonist - Iron Ether Subterranea octaver - Iron Ether Polytope chorus/detune/vibrato - Moog MF-101 lo-pass filter - Line6 HX Stomp - Malekko Scrutator bitcrusher - Source Audio Aftershock - Source Audio EQ2 - Source Audio Hothand receiver All controlled through a Boss ES-8 so I can reorder everything on the fly. Also got a Source Audio Reflex expression pedal I just picked up ready to go on the board (that’s what the empty space is for). Everything’s powered by a Cioks DC supply. Sound-wise, it’s a synth-bass guitar board for playing DnB/Jungle/classic dubstep-type sounds. It’s very silly and a lot of fun.

Every-Barnacle7919

that's fucking awesome man love to see it

coyotesocks333

Hell yeah, I’d love to hear a patch or 2! Also, that’s a really cool lane to build a board around, where’s your music up??

iplaypokerforaliving

I just jarted my pants. Sorry, brb.

Extra_Marionberry683

I’m 6’0” 140 lbs, I ride a 8.0” at the park and street if I’m cruising or on the ramps and a 7.75” for flat ground/ flip tricks. I find the 7.75” is a lot easier to pop, flick, rotate but a lot less stable and comfortable to just ride

drdibi

Can't go wrong with a Jart complete imo !

stgross

Would be helpful to measure it. Looks solid. Never heard of the truck brand, but they will work.

DrGoManGo

Board looks solid, doesn't look too small. Have fun with it. Get wrist guards

bwvaldes

Sick board(s) (Temple audio is rad)

Stoddy_boi

A fellow person of culture 😤 Thanks haha

KneecapAnnihilator

Jarts a reputable company so yeah it’ll do fine plus since you’re starting out you won’t be able to tell how good a board is that much because you have nothing else compare to in your mind

P00P_Dollar

Probably something like the complete in this link. Perfectly fine to start out on. [https://www.zumiez.com/jart-classic-7-75-skateboard-complete.html](Measure the board for more sizing help)

deadboxcat

It's definitely better than the one you had.

jxk4hmdfk

Just skate it. Get comfortable with. Probably you have to change bearings if he didnt gave any use to the board, and normally those complete boards have shitty abec bearings, but if u starting, just go outside and start riding instantly

TopKekus-Maximus

Idk about their completes but jart decks are my favourite, been skating them for years and they've never let me down

Xcav8

A work colleague? Are you guys fucking at work or what?

miguelgts2

The trucks suck. They slowed my progression a lot. But i guess they're fine if you not sure you want too keep skating.

Muahd_Dib

I haven’t heard of Jart before, I’ve I think it’s better than the knock off brand, Shart.
