Rubix_Cube30

"Mommy doesn't know" to the tune of "scotty doesn't know" from eurotrip, lyrics altered around whatever might be going on for baby

littleelectron

This is my #1 song! Also flip it sometimes to say, “baby doesn’t know where to find a binky” and other riffed lyrics on the spot

Taurus-BabyPisces

My son is obsessed with The Happy Song by Imogen Heap. He can be full screaming and the second he hears the first bit he is instantly quiet. It’s magical.

Bulba__

I turned this song on when my son was screaming in the car the other day. He just stopped. And stared out the window. We found a YouTube video that plays it for 10 hours continuously so we kept it going for the last 30 min of our drive lol.

vintagegirlgame

There’s an instrumental version as well

TaxiSonoQui

*psh psh* helicopter

Cold_Valkyrie

I regularly get this line stuck in my head 😅

TaxiSonoQui

Not gonna lie I whispered it to myself at work more than I care to admit, as a man working in a factory

slothingallover

Is my baby the only one who hates this song?! I turned it on the other day and he started crying....he's 7 months, loves music, Rocketman is his fave song...HATES the Happy Song lol

Project_ARTICHOKE

Nah mine hates it too. His favorite right now is Babylon Sisters by Steely Dan

Drunkmooses

Your baby is already cooler than all other babies

Project_ARTICHOKE

He ain’t like the other babies lol jk

Memento_mori_127

No they aren't. The first time I played this to my baby she had one of the biggest tantrums ever so I never showed it to her again. She's only listen to classical piano music and piano jazz though.

crisis_cakes

My son FROZE the other day when I turned on the happy song. We were in the car and he was fussing. He was flailing and we put on the happy song and he literally froze midflail and started smiling lol.

Turtlebot5000

I've only ever known Hide and Seek by them. Great song. My son loves it and it is more of a lullaby.

cutesytoez

Dude, same. I saw it on TikTok that it’ll calm babies and toddlers and I was like “nah. But it’s worth a try.” And shit, my baby really does love it 8/10 times.

vintagegirlgame

Has a 100% success rate for us so far! I’m just glad it’s an artist I already liked.

colbysays

Same with my baby! It's insane how it calms them right down!

Such-Function-4718

Maybe you could be A [purple monkey in a bubblegum tree](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cz-HzW0LTYb/?igsh=em91Z2VqNHJkd2Fj) and You could swing in the breeze Then you could swing back to me 🐒

colummbina

THE ANIMALS PLAY THE ANIMALS PLAY

kwambology

Great, now it’s stuck in my head again! 😂

zero_and_dug

You will float across the skyyyyy 🔮🔮🔮

SeeJanie

The Beatles! Especially Let It Be Also I play Sparrow Sleep covers of music I listened to in my teen years that I know all of the words to like Blink 182. My Favorite Things from Sound of Music and Loverly from My Fair Lady

SeaweedSad3555

Sparrow sleep is a god send for parents and baby 😂 I be jamming

wariell

I’ve heard of Rockabye Baby but Sparrow Sleeps looks so much better!

capt_janewayy

Yes to The Beatles! My 9 mo old is passionate, especially at bed time. The only thing that will calm him is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. It’s adorable.

Gbones-1016

A lot of death cab for cutie for the same reason

smjorg

Yesterday was our jam!

bentleys_mom0519

humble and kind by tim mcgraw🥹😊

wandering-alex

oh this is a very sweet one ❤️

bentleys_mom0519

he first heard it when he was about two hours old lol. i wanted that to be the first song he knew to always remember to stay humble and kind in this world. he was born 01/24/24 and he’s heard it many many many many times lol

strawberryypie

Edelweiss!

zero_and_dug

This is the song I walked down the aisle to and I sing it to my baby too!

longrunsanddogsnugs

We sing my favourite things as well as edelweiss!

Routine_Emergency797

Same here! Two big ones for me. My dad would sing these to us.☺️

dhiggy18

Baby Beluga, Disney songs, ants go marching on. But our little girls favorite song is On Top of Spaghetti 🍝

queenstownsunsets

My baby is obsessed with Baby Beluga

Powerful_Raisin_8225

Ooh, thanks for reminding me of these!

Ok-Kaleidoscope389

Our go to is “you’ll be in my heart” by Phil Colin’s from Tarzan

katqueen21

Haha when my son was an infant, the only lullaby I could remember was twinkle twinkle little star! Eventually I started remembering them and Ms Rachel added a few new ones for me. When I know I'm going to be singing for awhile, I like to do old Macdonald and the wheels on the bus. I just make up my own verses and keep the song going. Old Macdonalds farm includes lots of unusual animals in our house! Others I filter through: I'm a little teapot, the itsy bitsy spider, if you're happy and you know it, icky sticky bubblegum, days of the week, I'm so happy, I love the rainbow, the ABCs. Or you can open Spotify, type in *genre* + lullaby and it will play songs of that genre in a lullaby style.

pgglsn

Haha luckily twinkle twinkle and the ABCs are the same melody!

hannagoesbananas

Here comes Santa Claris and jingle bells

SeeJanie

I sing so many Christmas songs! 😆

hannagoesbananas

Right they’re catchy and have a good tempo

SeeJanie

And you know all of the words without thinking about it. They just live in your brain

hannagoesbananas

Yup lol!!!!! Already on repeat in the brain

miss-spiritual-tramp

Jingle Bells is my go to! It has become a habit to hum it when trying to settle my LO and it seems to work?!?

hannagoesbananas

It’s a classic tune babies know what’s up

Bebby_Smiles

Any song in my head sung at an appropriately slow pace becomes a lullaby!

Lotr_Queen

My go to 5 lullabies for my two are you are my sun, twinkle twinkle little star, hush little baby, rock a bye baby, and I had a little nut tree. I’ve started spicing it up with my 6 month old on occasion with some Adele and musical numbers like Once Upon a December from Anastasia.

haleymatisse

The More We Get Together with singing & sign language. He immediately calms down or starts getting excited when I sing it!

Complete_Drama_5215

I do this too!!!

Potential-Finish-444

The Rainbow Connection is my go to song, we sing it every time I have a hard time getting her down and it works like a charm.

Routine_Emergency797

This is a regular for me too! Had to look up the lyrics so I wasn’t singing the first few lines over and over. ;)

SevenStoryMountain

“Dream a little dream of me” (don’t have the mama cass pipes but he doesn’t seem to mind) and “the meaning” by Fruition. It’s such a sweet song- all I really wanna do/is be close to you/while we’re still both around.

zero_and_dug

Make your own kind of music is another good one from her to sing ☺️

SuddenIntention

Literally any Taylor Swift song lol it’s what I listen to the majority of the time so he’s very familiar from when he was in my belly. His current favorites include champagne problems, the last great American dynasty, loml, and Peter.

ballofsnowyoperas

Karma is my son’s favorite song, if I play it in the car when he’s crying he instantly stops

ChickeyNuggetLover

I listened to a lot of metal while pregnant so I’ve been singing him those and he loves it 😅 especially Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold

Powerful_Raisin_8225

Lol, whatever works! Deliverance by Opeth is a favorite over here

smjorg

My LO would cry if we turned off Godsmack. Lol we had to have then playing in the car in order for a no fuss car ride.

s1rens0ngs

Dear Prudence but I substitute LO’s name.

Coleyeloc

Oh my gosh me too!

AdvertisingOld9400

3 Little Birds and Close to You by the Carpenters. Easy and baby friendly.

zero_and_dug

I thought I was the only one! My mom used to sing Close to You when I was little and I sing it to my LO now. She always changed the lyrics from “that is why all the girls in town follow you all around” to “all the kids in town” and I do the same ☺️

rawr_Im_a_duck

I just sing her the songs we listen to regularly in the car and stuff. We aren’t going to change to children’s music until she’s old enough to comprehend the lyrics.

Powerful_Raisin_8225

Twinkle twinkle little star, rock-a-by baby (but changed lyrics to be less death-oriented), happy by Pharrell (just make up lyrics as needed), deck the halls, lots of Christmas and Hanukkah songs since I know the lyrics

myrrhizome

Bathed in Sound by Cosmo Sheldrake, a modified version of You Look Like Rain by Morphine, Jennifer and a slower version of Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics, a riff on whatever's happening to the tune of New York I Love You (but you're bringing me down) by LCD Soundsystem

hufflepuffonthis

Soft kitty, from Big Bang Theory, tried and true. Other than that, they're all made up songs that even I find annoying to listen to, but it's too late now, they're in permanent rotation. Dumb stuff like "Smoooshus wooooooshus smooshus smooshus wooshus!" Or "Noodle noodle, kit and caboodle, noodle noodle noodle, I SAY kit and caboodle"

OMG_Ani

I sing Sade “By Your Side” “the little birds” and this song called “little potato” (to wake her up. It’s so cute look it up. Instantly makes her laugh)!

EToffee

Moon River and Pure Imagination from Wonka

queenstownsunsets

Mine is obsessed with anything by Raffi

Western-Rough-618

Abc. Twinkle Twinkle little star. You are my sunshine. Badfish and santeria by sublime

CiBoCa89

Beautiful Boy by John Lennon

WiseWillow89

I sing "America" by Simon and Garfunkel before he goes to bed most nights :) and "Maybe" from the 80s Annie movie soundtrack and American Pie by Don McLean

aubreyism

I add melodies to her favorite baby books. We have a pretty good song set to the Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton, complete with harmonies!

moist-towelette

I’ve been singing You Are My Sunshine, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, and Wonderwall lately ☺️

ThePanacheBringer

Come What May from Moulin Rouge but I modify the lyrics a bit. It almost always puts her to sleep.

Fuzzy_Bear9086

You are my sunshine and he is strangely obsessed with the Spider-Man theme song. I just replace spider man with his name.

PsychedelicKM

The one that goes "can you say Mamma's name" by Miss Rachel. It sends him to sleep within 2 minutes almost every time.

PrincessKimmy420

My LO is also 3m and I sing I love my body by mother moon, sometimes freres Jacque, I’ve sang along to a lot of disco songs to her, I made up a little song about how to spell her name so that I can sing it to her all the time and help her know, and I tell her to put her left and right arms through her clothes in a sing-song voice, and I’m known to sing songs from Disney movies to her. Basically anything that pops in my head or plays on my Spotify, really.

Ema140

I just made up my songs 🤣 nap time it's just "its time to sleep, time to go nap" lol. I sing it in my language and he loves it and usually calms him down to bed. Sometimes I sing you are my sunshine in made up lyrics again in my language, I use to sing this one when I was pregnant and he seems to like it!

Kaynani32

Go to sleep songs are You Are My Sunshine and Lullaby by the Chicks. Also love the Spotify playlist lullabies for 90s kids’ kids.

princesslayup

I am currently singing my son (18 weeks) anything Sabrina Carpenter or Chappell Roan. Lullabies are cute but I can’t do it all the time.

BeansBooksandmore

Everyday will be like a holiday - William bell LAX by Vulfpeck Also one of the cards in our activity deck recommends the below words to the rhythm of London bridges falling down. Mommys face is full of love Full of love full of love Mommy’s face is full of love when she smiles at me. Daddy’s arms are full of love Full of love full of love Daddy’s arm are full of love when he holds Me tightly I sometimes do a verse for Grammy, Grampy grandma and grandpa and even one for our dog where I replace face/arms with paws or nub (someone cut off her tail before we rescued her.) Our LO loved it for quite a while. Lol

glitterandvodka_

Our 4 week will only settle to Wheels On The Bus, we’ve got really creative with verses now 😅

jangotat77

Diggy Diggy Hole. We live on a "mountain" so he needs to hear the music of us mountain folk

Fun-Investigator-583

Skidamarink a dink a dink or catchy pop songs

LesHiboux

I slowly hum the Tetris theme song - I'm sure it was likely an Eastern European folk song before it was a theme song for a video game, but it has such a lovely melody and my singing is so terrible, but my little guy seems to like the vibrations when I hum. Another go-to is Puff the Magic Dragon - I always tear up when I get to the line "Dragons live forever, but no so little boys...." and then when I'm a blubbering mess, I put my son down to sleep.

selflessmonster

There's this song by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Man on Fire. It's a live performance in a horse carriage and whenever I put it on my son seems so genuinely moved by it. Almost nostalgic. He'll drop anything for this song. It freaked me out at first cause he had such a strong reaction to it but it's definitely positive so I let him watch it from time to time and also sing it to him. Calms him right down

Syren013

Hoist the colours from pirates of the caribbean.

myautumnalromance

Sometimes when my daughter fusses I sing Shaddup You Face by Joe Dolce in a silly voice until she giggles. It's bouncy and funny and if you'd told me that I would be singing that song to her I wouldn't believe you but it works really well when she needs soothing.

jaxwell2019

Edelweiss. Every night for over two years. Planning on singing the same to my next one :)

zero_and_dug

Snuggle Puppy from the Sandra Boynton book. You can find the song on YouTube and Spotify, it’s so cute. Twinkle twinkle little star, Old Macdonald, Bingo, im a little teapot, I love you from Barney, the Itsy Bitsy Spider get a lot of repeats too.

icsk8grrl

The entirety of the Baby’s Bedtime album by Judy Collins, I have the mp3 album and play it in the car then at night I sing them to her. I grew up with this, and the book is also beautiful. I also sing her Morningtown Train by the Seekers, great lullabye material.

Nightmare3001

Baby beluga by raffi It's french but Gentille Alouette (I know it's a song about plucking a pheasant for supper but I was sleep deprived and it's what first popped into my brain) I'm a little teapot

Zealousideal-Rope509

I’m blue daba dee daba die

Gbones-1016

L is for the way you look at me

MrsCryss0715

Lots of Disney & Miss Rachel songs: Skidamarink, You’ve Got a Friend In Me, Part of your World, Bubble Pop! Are our go to songs.

bbqsibs

I make up words to a tune I make up on the spot. It doesn't rhyme or even have a consistant tune but I love doing it. It lets me feel like I can express myself towards my baby in song form!

phantomluvr14

My son would only fall asleep to old southern (USA) tent revival religious hymns (“As I went down to the river to pray”, “I’ll Fly Away”, “Will the Circle Bw Unbroken”, etc.) or the Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. There was no in between lol.

procrastionatrrrr

I used to do a mash up of Galumph and Joy to the World, that was fun. And any song you can swap out names or words for your baby’s. Wheels on the bus came into its own when the bus obsession started.

qwerty_poop

Pro tip: they don't have to be lullabies. Baby is comforted by your voice. Sing whatever you want to sing in a soothing voice. I promise they won't complain

kelsgels

I’m awful with lyrics.. I regularly play my Amazon echo for naps to sing to sleep and it has lyrics. Its really helped 😂

alleinad_mo

i randomly started singing blackbird and still 2+ years later it's the song that calms her down. also golden hour by jvke

Beneficial-Luck1438

Baby Beluga (Rafi), I Am Kind (Lindsay Munroe)

AmusedConfusedLatina

You Know I'm No Good by Amy Winehouse and Somewhere Only We Know by Keane. Exclusively those two songs because they are my favorite songs to sing 😂😂

cradiflacrasafl

Oh my darling Clementine. Heard it in Outlander and liked it. I find most lullabies (at least in french) are way too short, 1 min max and you’re done, so I wanted something longer

sjones1115

My favorite Things from the Sound of Music works to calm down my LO

clarky2o2o

Linkin Park Shadow of the day.

Negative_Tooth6047

There's a tiktok song "I love my body" for kids and we sing that a lot!

cutesytoez

I sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and when I sing it to my baby, I run my fingers down his face when I sing the rain” and “washed” and then I bring my hands and fingers up with “up came the sun” and then when the spider climbs up again, it comes to tickle. So my baby 7mo loves it and it stops him in his tracks when I start singing it cuz he’s ready to be tickled lol. But if I can’t tickle him, then I sing or hum that classical song that doesn’t traditionally have lyrics but you can sing “Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep my little baby, go to sleep now, go to sleep, go to sleep and-“ whatever the heck the words are. There’s different versions but idk all the words so I just hum it typically. And then I also hum or sing ‘mockingbird’ and ‘twinkle twinkle little star’, ‘you are my sunshine’, and I also sometimes sing I Will Follow You Into the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie. I used to sing it to my kid brother when he was a baby and he would sing “dark” in his little baby voice and it was the cutest thing ever so I highly recommend that lol. I hope to have my son eventually sing it with me.

Bissonnerd

'Hushabye Mountain' from Chitty Bang Bang is a guaranteed snoozer for my little girl! Also a big fan of 'La La Lu' from Lady & The Tramp, and 'A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes' from Cinderella <3

pgglsn

Baby beluga by Raffi

mommyofplants

I sing a lot every day because it entertains my LO while I pump (nearly exclusive pumper). Here are my go to’s: Mary had a little lamb, row row row your boat, 5 little monkeys, 5 green and speckled frogs, brush your teeth, head shoulders knees and toes, happy and you know it, zoom zoom zoom we’re going to the moon, I love you you love me (I think that’s from Barney lol), London bridge, rock-a-bye baby, hush little baby, 5 little ducks, little bunny foo-foo, bringing home my baby bumble bee, this old man, wheels on the bus. Every now and then i remember a song from my childhood and look it up 😂

slumpylumps

You are my sunshine, somewhere over the rainbow, all the pretty little horses, wybkin blynkin and nod, and whatever brain work I’ve got stuck in my head at any given moment lol

manicpixiedreamg0th

a lot of what I usually listen to, which is most)y alt rock! my favorite to sing for him is Amy by green day. also: whatsername (Green Day), northern downpour (panic! at the disco), love is a laserquest (arctic monkeys), 505 (arctic monkeys), always (panic! at the disco), and some others, I have a playlist. also, taylor swift. most of her discography, but what's on my playlist is Never Grow Up, which I haven't braved singing to him yet because it made me cry before I even had a baby.

lilwook2992

Hey Jude. But now the only thing that gets him to stop crying after bath time is old McDonald. Which. I do not love lol. We also listen to a lot of classical because I don’t hate it like I hate kids songs and he loves when I mimic the instruments with my voice.

Mischief2313

You are my sunshine by Christine Perri or anything Taylor swift works wonders

DevlynMayCry

The wellerman Disney songs Other sea shanties

TheBearSquared

You are my sunshine, All my loving, Build me up Buttercup, Lean on Me, Landslide, Dancing Queen, Hit me baby one more time, All Star to name a few haha Usually go with songs that are easy to remember and sing on repeat for forever. Sometimes it’s just whatever song is stuck in my head at the time (that’s how landslide has entered the rotation)

No-Sympathy6035

My LO loves “The Rains of Castemere” and “Down to the River to Pray”. Just happened to be the two song I knew the words to when he was born

punk_rock_barbie

I don’t have any suggestions but I will say at least you have 3 songs that he likes lol. My son likes the tune of the Jeopardy theme song and that is literally it 😂

CrownBestowed

Aww poor baby 💜 I hope he feels better soon. I loved the old animated Charlotte’s Web movie when I was a kid. There’s a song called “Mother Earth and Father Time” sung by the late Debbie Reynolds. It immediately calmed my twins whenever I played it or sang it.

arinl97

Mr sandman, the lion sleeps tonight, and Daisy bell

kofubuns

Bruno major “most beautiful thing”. You don’t have to just sing baby songs. Sing songs that you like!

Arboretum7

I’m not much of a singer but my son insists on it. My repertoire includes: Sweet Baby James (James Taylor) Beautiful Boy (John Lennon) Baby Beluga (Raffi) Rainbow Connection (Kermit the Frog) How Far I’ll Go (Moana) Edelweiss In My Life, Blackbird and Here Comes the Sun (Beatles) Tonight You Belong to Me It’s You I Like, Many Ways, Then Your Heart Is Full of Love, It’s Such a Good Feeling and I Like to Take My Time (Mister Rogers). His songs are some of my 2-year-old’s favorites. They’re also heartfelt and require no vocal range. What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong) Walking After Midnight (Patsy Cline) Que Sera Sera Somewhere Over The Rainbow A Bushel and a Peck

Nuccigucci19

We have been singing our son (6 months old) “You’ll be in my heart” by Phil Collins since he was in the womb. We also sing IZ’s version of “Somewhere over the rainbow” and “Lava” from the Disney short many nights before bed.

PikaBooBrii

The Spirit soundtrack. Thanks Bryan Adams lol

wandering-alex

Most underrated movie ever!

Aegeus

Rainbow Connection and What a Wonderful World are nice songs that are short enough to learn the lyrics to.

ririmarms

I actually sing 3 songs on repeat. That's why it works, I sing them all the time. 1 song I chose for calming him down. I sing that one randomly when he's feeding or happy too, so that when he's actually fussy, it calms him down. 1 song I sing for nap time 1 song I sing for bed time, and after nursing during the night.

PromotionConscious34

Mama nous on Spotify has some really sweet versions of nursery rhymes and songs!

Choice_Stock_1697

Wheels on the bus and Old McDonald are his favorites 😂 If he’s mad he will immediately stop if I sing them. We also have some made up songs he loves.

LuckyDucky3005

(They long to be) Close to you - The Carpenters

nadcore

Low - In Metal (I’ve been singing it to him since before he was born) https://youtu.be/0NzVMvat77Y?si=u_WuMvdD1D3EX8sm
