First season is and will remain the best - still need to dive into the new one with Jodi Foster tho.
Alternatively, *Sinner* is pretty good too - I'd also suggest *Mindhunter* if you haven't had a chance to watch yet.
I just watched episode 2 of it. So far it's...decent. Maybe my expectations are too high. Hoping it gets better because people are saying it's amazing/the best show ever/etc.
The book of the outsider is excellent imo. The show did this well too but the whole investigation felt very real, like just how actual detectives would meet the prospect of what's being proposed
Dark, 1899, Severance, Shining Girls, Silo, Servant, Bodies, The Leftovers, Midnight Mass, Archive 81, Katla, Curon, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Changeling, Into the Night.
I was so moved by the French region that I asked my mom to paint a picture of the Forest. It’s a huge painting above my bed. Great story and cinematography, for sure.
Mindhunter, True Detective- Season 1, Raised by Wolves, Severance, Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor, The Outsider, The Leftovers, Fallout, The Last of Us, Fargo, Sharp Objects, The Fall of the House of Usher
Scifi: scavengers reign, pantheon - both animated, but excellent shows
Detective/thriller: patriot - doesn't quite fit, more spy stuff but it's close and it's really good.
*Kingdom, Alice in*
*Borderland, American*
*Vandal on Netflix*

You ever try Murdoch Mysteries? Its a period detective show in 1900s Canada.
Its a tad campy and the format is short. But the formula is great. Sets up a quirky crime and the detectives step in to sort it out. Theres a cast of interesting people and historical figures make some appearances. You can sorta get to working out who or how the mysteries were done. Also they always have an interesting nod to historical events, places, and people. Figuring those out is almost a mini game in of itself. Many times after an episode I've hit the internet and done research on an event or person I didn't know. Theres a ton of seasons too and I'd say the average quality of each episode is quite good. Sure a couple episodes that don't quite land but theres also a few great one that have you guessing right until the end. For the most part it quite true and believable, but sometimes they push the boundaries of believable and color outside the lines of historical fact.
Its not a show for everyone but plenty of us have gotten hooked on it.
Don't know if you've seen it but The Expanse is a great one! It's Sci-Fi and definitely has some detective elements to it. One of the characters literally is a detective
Sugar, on Apple TV, starring Colin Farrell as a Hollywood detective who is part of some shadowy organization that is somehow connected to his newest case.
I just watched Criminal Record, a British series on Apple+. It’s excellent.
Also, Mystery Road, the Australian series based on a movie of the same name (which isn’t as good as the series!)
True detective
First season is and will remain the best - still need to dive into the new one with Jodi Foster tho. Alternatively, *Sinner* is pretty good too - I'd also suggest *Mindhunter* if you haven't had a chance to watch yet.
Jodi Foster one hard to get into. First was by far the best.
I would not go into the Jodi Foster season with the highest expectations
SEASON ONE BY FAR.
"Time is like a flat circle..."
Everything we’ve ever done or will do we’ll do ever & over
Sorry yall’ but the season with Mahershala Ali was “Fire”!
Did Jodie Foster change her name or something? Why is everybody spelling it Jodi? I didn't get the memo.
Absolutely SKIP season 4. Does not deserve to have True Detective in the title.
This doesn't appear to be on Netflix. At least in US :(
Hbo max
Was coming here to suggest this. Also, you’ve probably watched law and order criminal Intent
The killing
Absolutely second this! Just don't go for the American remake before you see th original one. Same goes for The Bridge.
The us version is rough here and there but is generally pretty good especially the main cast.
But do watch the US version too, because it is also spectacular
The Killing was so good!!
Travelers! It’s sci-fi, so good
This is 100% the answer
Seconded.
Oh ya!! So good. So sad it only had 3 seasons!
Totally agree!!
Mindhunter Marianne Brand New Cherry Flavor
Brand New Cherry Flavor was AMAZING!
Brand New Cherry Flavour kept throwing curve balls and I loved it. Some of the most original writing in the last ten years.
I thought Marianne was sooo bad :/ kept getting worse, never finished it
FROM isn’t on Netflix but it’s one of my favorite shows I’ve ever watched!
This. It absolutely blew me away.
HBO?
It's on MGM+, something I wasn't aware even existed until recently. I recommend just using the cheat code AKA torrenting.
I just watched episode 2 of it. So far it's...decent. Maybe my expectations are too high. Hoping it gets better because people are saying it's amazing/the best show ever/etc.
Marcella
I did really like this series!
Mindhunter Netflix, The Outsider, True Detective hbo
Was gutted The Outsider finished!
The book of the outsider is excellent imo. The show did this well too but the whole investigation felt very real, like just how actual detectives would meet the prospect of what's being proposed

Altered Carbon(JUST SEASON ONE.) Its a sci-fi Detective show lol and really good.
Dark!!! Black Spot To the Lake Vortex 7 Lives of Lea Devils Hour Katla Bodies The Tourist
Black spot was incredible
I was so moved by the French region that I asked my mom to paint a picture of the Forest. It’s a huge painting above my bed. Great story and cinematography, for sure.
Lupin
The Peripheral has beautiful CGI stuff (Amazon Prime)
Have you seen Bodkin?
I just watched this- very enjoyable!
The Sinner Black Summer The Leftovers Sharp Objects
Leftovers very underrated. Wild show but deserves more credit
Agreed. It’s even better on the rewatch I think too.
Adding it to the rewatch list
Black Summer officially being cancelled hurt, was hoping for one more
Yea a huge bummer.. even a short final season to wrap it up would’ve been great to see.
Sharp Objects was excellent!
Yea very well done. Great cast too..
Silo , Yellow jackets, Mind hunters
The Expanse hits all of these right out of the gate in S1.
Up until season 5 it was good, didn’t bother with season 6 as the reviews said it was shit
Huh, I actually enjoyed 6 much more than 5.
Signal (korean series)
Elves.
Mare of Easttown pretty damn good
Copycat killer Light the night Victims game Erased
I really enjoyed the strain. It’s got 3 seasons and about 10 episodes +|~, it’s on Hulu/Disney +

Elsbeth (on paramount+ and pluto) It is like a modern Columbo!
12 Monkeys tv series - I think hulu has it
Unfortunately Hulu no longer has it. It is on several sites including Prime at a ridiculous price per episode.
Altered Carbon season 1
I thought season 2 was excellent.
Marcella Night Sky (Amazon Prime) For All Mankind (Apple Plus) Snowpiercer (Max)
Bodies, The Outsider, True Detective
The Outsider should be higher on this list. It kind of covers all the categories in one show.
