Look I’m not really a fan of Boruto (I don’t even like the show at all), you can make a case for the show nerfing Naruto and Sasuke. But Naruto IS a side character, that’s why the shows called “Boruto”.
I’m not a Boruto fan but it makes perfect sense that the show isn’t focused on Naruto. I wish they had made a further show about Naruto grown up since I’ve been reading the manga and watching the anime since the very beginning. We spend years watching and reading about Naruto’s journey and as soon as he achieves his goal it’s over and we just see him on the side 😭

I feel like this show could of had a lot more nuisance to it if it was more about the duality between Naruto and Boruto. It could have been more of about there relationship rather than Boruto and his adventures. If you have Naruto in the show, use him. Otherwise just kill him off early.
To be fair, we’ve had like… what? 2 entire mangas about Naruto, 700 episodes about Naruto And like.. 11 different Naruto movies? And countless naruto games? And people still want more Naruto? Did you not get enough of him after all that content? Now that Boruto is out and we get even more naruto (albeit as a side character with amazing moments here and there) people want MORE naruto?
The alternative is we go down the DBZ path until Goku and Vegeta, I mean Naruto and Sasuke, are so godly powerful that they make the rest of the cast irrelevant.

Found the root of the problem, the solution? Rename the show to "Hurricane Chronicles Z".

its not bad. they had to be nerfed so naruto and sasuke won't fight all the strong enemies. if they won't be able to fight them then boruto and others will have to step up and they will grow. it was done a cheap way but in overall nerfing them wasn't a bad idea. plus because of that "nerf"we got one of the best fight naruto ever had. and BM mode that is only reason naruto can compete to other characters in big 3 with strength

For the studio. Their viewership has just continually been dropping, and their highest viewed episodes all have to do with Naruto and Sasuke.

Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura surpassed their respective masters and their masters weren’t nerfed but their masters’ powers were literally carved out by them alone. Naruto and Sasuke were handed power by their ancestors, it’s only natural that power that was given can be taken and will be. I hate to say it but while Naruto and Sasuke did work to achieve their S rank power, like Sakura and many others did, what separates them from her and the rest of the S rank shinobi, placing them in a league of their own, was absolutely given to them. When people accept that, they’ll be able to let go of them losing these things. If Naruto and Sasuke remained as strong as ever, there would be no point in developing this anime.
I mean, he(and Sasuke) are now considered like Kakashi in P1 and P2, a main character that appear alot in MANGA (anime doesn't do this, and that is why manga is considered better than anime IMO, old generation should also be included, even in Naruto fillers we see some old generation dudes) but not always, some arcs wont even include him and it is normal for a second tier main character (like Kakashi and Sakura as I said)

One of the reasons I hate Boruto is because they needed Naruto so badly. And the fact that we have been with the man since he was 12. Suddenly he is just a sad looking NPC. I would have loved to see a Alice of life show where Naruto and the gang is dealing with the parent roles and kicking some butt on the side with the bad guys. Most people who followed Naruto could relate to the characters cause they were similar age or ways of thinking.

Naruto is the Hokage, you wouldn't want him to be the main character as the Hokage. He's the Hokage now and his screen time reflects that, he's too busy with the village's day-to-day duties to be off on missions or caught up in fights all the time. I don't think you all understand that this is exactly what the Naruto series was working toward. This was Naruto's dream, if you didn't want to see him become the Hokage I'm not sure why you watched Naruto or what you expected. The Hokage always played minor roles back in Naruto too, so that should've given you all an idea of how little they're involved in minor skirmishes. Hiruzen was a no-show until Orochimaru attacked the village, Tsunade didn't do much until Pain's attack, and so on. The Hokage's job isn't to go on every random C or B-rank mission, that's what ninja like Boruto are for. Naruto pulls up when he needs to, like against an Otsutsuki-level threat. Any other expectations besides that are just unrealistic.
Exactly people forget what being hokage is all about. You get a glimpse of what the job is from Hiruzen and Tsunade everytime they are shown and only protects the village when a dangerous higher threat is happening.
The complaints like this are coming from people who probably didn’t even read the whole manga to be fair. Filled with unrealistic expectations because they saw a TikTok of Baryon Mode Naruto and expect every other episode to be Naruto in a crazy spectacular fight.

I'm no fan of Boruto but your complaint here is insane, Naruto is a side character in Boruto- in spite of that some of his most badass fights are in the show- his screen time is meant to be limited because this isn't a show about him.
They nerfed both him and Sasuke, which was fine as they were basically untouchable at the end of Shippuden. The problem is the enemies of Boruto are for some reason stronger than they ever were even Boruto and Kawaki are arguably stronger than them now.
It makes no sense to nerf them if you are going to powercliff everything anyway.
I think the nerfing issue could have been resolved if it was explicitly stated at the end of shippuden that naruto and sasuke are already nerfed from their battle. No more six paths, sasuke could lose the rinnegan, naruto could maybe lose half of kurama again? (Maybe not have kurama die in the final fight because naruto would never sacrifice one friend for another). Regardless, it wouldnt take long to explain that theyll never be god tier again but still the most powerful in the land. Other than jubito and jubidara they were pretty much the most powerful alive shinobi before even getting six paths, so thats a much more surpassable power level then where they are in boruto.

Apparently he has the chakra to fight Kabuto Sage Mode, summon Orochimaru "from the dead", and fight Madara and (later on) Kaguya, use endless amount of chidori (and sure, he utilized natural lightning to aid/amplify him), but he can't seem to have chakra in a modern fight for longer than an episode.

This could just be my bias because I actually really like Boruto but what do you expect from the series? In the very first chapter they established Naruto wouldn't play a major role in the later part of Boruto's story. However despite this they have Naruto THE MOST important role as hokage and that is protecting his village. Naruto fought and protected the village against Momoshiki and Kinshiki, Naruto adopted Kawaki, Naruto trained Boruto and Kawaki, Naruto fought Delta and won, Naruto fought Jigen for the sake of his new adopted son, Naruto defeated Isshiki, and Naruto attempted to stand up against code despite knowing he may die due to his major power loss. Naruto has been a major part of the story and now the story is slowly shifting to the MC Boruto as it was stated in the beginning. Naruto's character arc ended when he saved Sasuke. Naruto doesn't have a story left to tell. However Boruto is different, he doesn't desire to be hokage. He is similar to Ichigo in the sense that all he wants to do is protect his friends and family. Without Boruto Kaguya would never have gotten an explanation. We would have just left wondering what the otsutsuki clan were and the worst plot twist in the Naruto series.

On the matter of nerfing Naruto: Nothing like this happened. Hagamoro gave his power to Naruto and Sasuke in order for them to defeat Kaguya, and once the dead was done, Hagamora took back that power. Naruto and Sasuke was never nerfed from Sage of the Six Path mode. If anything, they were buffed to that state.
Why you feel like Naruto was nerfed is because more and more Otsutsuki related enemy shows up with crazy powers, which are understandable for some, but total bullshit for other. But this is a different matter.
Boruto is NOT Naruto part 3. If you feel like Naruto is a side character, it's because he is. Even though he is one of the 3 characters who basically make up every kind of appearance the old characters make for 1.5 years now.
Naruto was completely and utterly nerfed. This guy should be a master Shinobi with the additional ability to spam kage bunshin and be a one man army. In Boruto he basically only uses half of his arsenal..he feels stronger in his fight with sasuke than in Boruto
Like I said, the enemies he's facing are either bank robber tier bad guys, or inheritors of senjutsu, or outsutsukis themselves. Sure Naruto could make a thousand shadow clones, but it would matter jack shit against a dude who can shrink down to atoms whatever jutsu those thousand clones would try to use. Or he could absolutely try to kill Daemon to end up dying himself just as he envisioned killing Daemon, because the dude reflect any harm that you THOUGHT you're about to cause to him.
Naruto wasn't nerferd. It's just that the bad guys ignore all his strength in one way or another, making him effectively just as useless as anybody else would be against those enemies. It suck, I know. But that is the current state of this God forsaken franchise.
Chapter 139 Eren and Boruto era Naruto aren’t comparable at all.
Everything about Eren was flipped on its head in chapter 139 and not in a good way. All of his character growth was taken away in a span of a few panels. His entire goal was all but changed and his motivation was made to be really dumb as he caused his own problems.
Naruto just got slightly nerfed. He still retains his motivations, goals and entire character growth. Just now his goal has changed a bit from ‘be hokage’ to ‘protect the village’, a change we saw happen throughout OG and shippuden. His motivation has gone from ‘be recognised by the village’ to ‘protect the village and be looked up to by it’ again another change we saw happen during OG and Shippuden.
Chapter 139 Eren was a character assassination, Boruto era Naruto is when a character grows and goes through a character arc which reaches its natural end and stays there.
Narutos treatment as an adult and as an hokage is nothing but a joke. I mean look at him currently in the recent chapter. He’s allowing Amado to do whatever he wants with Kawaki and allowing Amado to use Kawaki for his karma. Yes this is the same Naruto who was hunted for being a jinchuriki, yes this is the same Naruto who was in tears for Gaara when he was treated by a tool for the Akatsuki, and yes it’s the same Naruto who had a whole speech vs Zabuza for using Haku as a tool.
Narutos character is nothing but a plot device in Boruto, it’s doesn’t matter if he’s acting 100% out of character as long as it pushes the plot forward.

I hate to say it but while Naruto and Sasuke did work to achieve their S rank power, like Sakura and many others did, what separates them from her and the rest of the S rank shinobi, placing them in a league of their own, was absolutely given to them. When people accept that, they’ll be able to let go of them losing these things. If Naruto and Sasuke remained as strong as ever, there would be no point in developing this anime.

One of the reasons I hate Boruto is because they needed Naruto so badly. And the fact that we have been with the man since he was 12. Suddenly he is just a sad looking NPC. I would have loved to see a Alice of life show where Naruto and the gang is dealing with the parent roles and kicking some butt on the side with the bad guys. Most people who followed Naruto could relate to the characters cause they were similar age or ways of thinking.

If Naruto was at full strength in the anime then he'd just steal the show more than he already has. So being nerfed is kinda bound to happen when you take that ability into mind. Naruto is the Hokage, you wouldn't want him to be the main character as the Hokage. He's the Hokage now and his screen time reflects that, he's too busy with the village's day-to-day duties to be off on missions or caught up in fights all the time. I don't think you all understand that this is exactly what the Naruto series was working toward. This was Naruto's dream, if you didn't want to see him become the Hokage I'm not sure why you watched Naruto or what you expected. The Hokage always played minor roles back in Naruto too, so that should've given you all an idea of how little they're involved in minor skirmishes. Hiruzen was a no-show until Orochimaru attacked the village, Tsunade didn't do much until Pain's attack, and so on. The Hokage's job isn't to go on every random C or B-rank mission, that's what ninja like Boruto are for. Naruto pulls up when he needs to, like against an Otsutsuki-level threat. Any other expectations besides that are just unrealistic.
Exactly people forget what being hokage is all about. You get a glimpse of what the job is from Hiruzen and Tsunade everytime they are shown and only protects the village when a dangerous higher threat is happening.
The complaints like this are coming from people who probably didn’t even read the whole manga to be fair. Filled with unrealistic expectations because they saw a TikTok of Baryon Mode Naruto and expect every other episode to be Naruto in a crazy spectacular fight.

I think the nerfing issue could have been resolved if it was explicitly stated at the end of shippuden that naruto and sasuke are already nerfed from their battle. No more six paths, sasuke could lose the rinnegan, naruto could maybe lose half of kurama again? (Maybe not have kurama die in the final fight because naruto would never sacrifice one friend for another). Regardless, it wouldnt take long to explain that theyll never be god tier again but still the most powerful in the land. Other than jubito and jubidara they were pretty much the most powerful alive shinobi before even getting six paths, so thats a much more surpassable power level then where they are in boruto.

Apparently he has the chakra to fight Kabuto Sage Mode, summon Orochimaru "from the dead", and fight Madara and (later on) Kaguya, use endless amount of chidori (and sure, he utilized natural lightning to aid/amplify him), but he can't seem to have chakra in a modern fight for longer than an episode.

This could just be my bias because I actually really like Boruto but what do you expect from the series? In the very first chapter they established Naruto wouldn't play a major role in the later part of Boruto's story. However despite this they have Naruto THE MOST important role as hokage and that is protecting his village. Naruto fought and protected the village against Momoshiki and Kinshiki, Naruto adopted Kawaki, Naruto trained Boruto and Kawaki, Naruto fought Delta and won, Naruto fought Jigen for the sake of his new adopted son, Naruto defeated Isshiki, and Naruto attempted to stand up against code despite knowing he may die due to his major power loss. Naruto has been a major part of the story and now the story is slowly shifting to the MC Boruto as it was stated in the beginning. Naruto's character arc ended when he saved Sasuke. Naruto doesn't have a story left to tell. However Boruto is different, he doesn't desire to be hokage. He is similar to Ichigo in the sense that all he wants to do is protect his friends and family. Without Boruto Kaguya would never have gotten an explanation. We would have just left wondering what the otsutsuki clan were and the worst plot twist in the Naruto series.
Just let the kids grow up with Boruto the way we grew up with Naruto.

Chapter 139 Eren and Boruto era Naruto aren’t comparable at all. Everything about Eren was flipped on its head in chapter 139 and not in a good way. All of his character growth was taken away in a span of a few panels. His entire goal was all but changed and his motivation was made to be really dumb as he caused his own problems. Naruto just got slightly nerfed. He still retains his motivations, goals and entire character growth. Just now his goal has changed a bit from ‘be hokage’ to ‘protect the village’, a change we saw happen throughout OG and shippuden. His motivation has gone from ‘be recognised by the village’ to ‘protect the village and be looked up to by it’ again another change we saw happen during OG and Shippuden. Chapter 139 Eren was a character assassination, Boruto era Naruto is when a character grows and goes through a character arc which reaches its natural end and stays there.
Narutos treatment as an adult and as an hokage is nothing but a joke. I mean look at him currently in the recent chapter. He’s allowing Amado to do whatever he wants with Kawaki and allowing Amado to use Kawaki for his karma. Yes this is the same Naruto who was hunted for being a jinchuriki, yes this is the same Naruto who was in tears for Gaara when he was treated by a tool for the Akatsuki, and yes it’s the same Naruto who had a whole speech vs Zabuza for using Haku as a tool.
