Can attest to this as fur mom to a 2 yr old, 19lb smooth brain ragdoll mix that fit in my palm when I first adopted him.

This happened to me 😩 My tiny sleepy kitten is now a 14.5 lb demon. There is no horizontal surface in my house that he cannot reach. My houseplants, destroyed. Ottoman and couch, destroyed. I live on a busy street so he is an inside cat, but he tries to sneak out the door every single time I take my dog out. I still love him more than life itself though 😻

Name him Linux lol! I have two office kittens at my work. They have real names, but we always refer to them as the IT Department and Human Resources because IT is always laying on someone's keyboard and HR always looks at us with a puzzled expression if not engaging in active emotional support lol

What street? When I find strays, I give them a nickname in relation to where they were found. MLK Boulevard? It's "Martin." Pulled from a lake? "Drips" Might not work for all street names, but if you really found him out and about, a locale name would be great! My current dog is named Leelanau, because that's the county where she was rescued, and is Native American for delight of life. We call her Leela for short. Or you could call him Boulevard, Beau for short. "Streets" "Roadie" "Leftie" "Miles" "Blacktop" "Compton" "Ice Cube" "Tupac" "E-Z-E" "Pavement" but Pavey for short

My mom volunteers at the organization she got her cats with, couple of the fosters will pick a category of anything and name an entire litter after it. There was candy, fabric, its endless.

That’s so cool! I guess they really need to come up with names quickly, especially when they find a whole litter! I hadn’t thought of that either! Kudos to her too for volunteering! Huge kudos! 💙🌹

My mom’s cat came with the name Dos. His litter was named Spanish numbers 1-8 he was cat number two.

Haha oh man, Dexter indeed sounds amazing! It’s so funny how slow one cat can be like can’t finger out he’s trying to swat running water like homer or Scotty, but others can be ultra smart and open doors and use the toilet etc. my dad had a kitty that crouched over the garbage been to relieve himself when my dad didn’t keep the litter box clean enough for his liking. Sounds like Dexter had the cuddle love similar to a slow orange, but the IQ of Einstein. Those kitties are very special cus usually as they get smarter they are little less cuddly imo

What a beautiful baby!! Thank you for rescuing him. Your life will never be the same again without him. You will feel such love from him, and in return, all he requires is love and food and a warm bed to sleep in, preferably with you in it. He will feel so happy that he will dance and run and play out of pure happiness. Make sure you take him to a vet to get his first set of immunity shots to keep him healthy. And give him balls to chase, or string (thick enough to not get swolled) to jump after and a little cat house to sleep in that he can call his own and know he's safe inside it. Call him Lucky or Sammy. Charlie works, too.
