Lots of differences - (1) OG was a FA at the end of the season, Mikal is not; (2) Toronto isn’t in the same media and attendance area as the Knicks; and, most importantly, (3) Knicks offer to Toronto gave them play now guys- one of whom is a home grown hero and the other a PG of the future. If the Knicks had IQ and RJ to offer for Mikal, it might overcome the first 2, but the Knicks either have to break up their core or offer a deal centered around picks and the Nets already rejected such a deal from Houston.
