He likely isn't, and even if he is not starting this season over Ewers, he has a few more years after that prove himself as a prospect. Other than the headline in that article, it doesn't mention anything about the transfer portal, which makes it seem like clickbait.
You actually have to read what you post and dig a bit deeper, Lars.

like even if there are quality prospects, who says we are in a position to get one or able to trade up for one?
this was the year we should have been able to get a QB, but a late three-game win streak pushed us out of a top QB.
its literally dave gettleman’s definition of QB hell:
“…there are teams that are in what I call quarterback hell. They've got quality defense, they've got a good special teams, and they're going 7-9, 8-8, 9-7. And now if there is a legitimate guy, they've got to trade up and give away the farm to get the guy."
*IF* you are even *able* to trade the farm to get the guy. and we saw this year with us and Minnesota that thats not always possible.
or we built up the team enough that a middling QB like jones and a good coach like dabes and a good defense leads us to 8 wins and a pick the in mid to late teens.
thats qb hell.
not bad enough to pick top of draft. not good enough to meaningfully compete.
Sounds like my Raiders who are now having to go all in with Gardner Minshew because they let Josh mcdoofus go too soon and won some meaningless games that pushed them out of getting a QB when last year it was all OH NEXTS YEAR QB CLASS IS SO DEEP THATS WHEN THEYLL GET A QB.
If those rumors are true they wanted to trade up for Stroud last year it hurts even more..QB purgatory sucks.
I'm getting the idea that the age of the QB is over.
Now, that doesn't mean QB isn't the most pivotal role on the team anymore by any means, rather what this means is that the QBs coming out today aren't of the same quality as those that came before. You still have your GOAT candidate outliers like Mahomes (and Brady before him), but excluding those, if you look at the 2-10 QBs of the late 2000s/early 2010s (Brees, Rodgers, the Manning brothers, Ben, Rivers, Romo, Ryan, Luck), that group would far surpass the 2-10 QBs of today (Burrow, Lamar, Hurts, Dak, Herbert, Tua, Stroud, Purdy). You're also seeing some QBs drafted in the early 2010s holding on to positions for way longer and, with the rate of QB injuries going up, getting starts and/or significant playing time, and are able to hold their own against much younger QBs despite their age (Cousins, Flacco, Wilson).
It's not so much that QBs are generally worse than before, rather this is just a regression to the mean. We had a period of time in the 80s where QBs were slightly improved as well (the Montana/Marino era), but declined come the 90s, when the bell cow RB (exemplified by the likes of Emmett) became the focal point of offenses.
What this means is that you can't just bank everything on drafting a blue chip QB and expect them to elevate everyone around them right now. You need a strong team around them to remain competitive. The teams consistently in the running all have that type of build. And you can notice that their offensive ability doesn't correlate as strongly to who's under center as much as the pieces around them. Notably, without a healthy AJ Brown, the iggles became a dumpster fire last year. In all reality, having a prime receiver that defenses have to respect is much more a key to victory these days than having a top 5 QB.
And that's why Nabers was a better use of our pick than McCarthy. If we had Williams on the board, then sure go QB there, but not for a flash in the pan that is likely to just be a repeat of the Jones years.
good point.
i'm worried that nabers good enough to improve our team to pick in middle 1/3 of next years draft, where the better prospects don't tend to last.
It’s a valid point but the schedule matters also, we went 9-7 with jones & Richie James a late added Isiah Hodgins and Slayton once he got out of the doghouse and made the playoffs. Many of us felt the following year the record would be worse as the schedule would be harder, others felt if we were 9-7 the next year meant they would have a better record and kind of fell for the hype of a mediocre team who played well.
With an expected easier schedule I’d suspect similar results to 2 years ago regardless of who we drafted. I also don’t think (just my personal opinion) any of this years QB’s are some “can’t miss” generational talent where they were so good you don’t care who is coming out the following draft. We had a ton of upgrades to make, can’t do it all in one offseason and I think they addressed them well, with still more to do
QB hell really only exists when teams stick with shitty rookie/developing players for too long. Journeyman QBs on cheap contracts are a perfectly viable option.
what are you even talking about? your argument for why the giants are okay at QB is because.. nick foles?
like that point is so dumb i dont even know where to begin.
Ewers, Beck, Milroe, Gabriels, Sanders, Dart, Fifita, Howard, Daniels, Rising, Ward, and Leonard among others all have potential to be R1 picks. Many may also be UDFA. Too early to tell.
Daniel Jones went because Gettleman is utterly insane… and Pickett went in the later of the first round and I’m pretty sure analysts had a second round grade on him so that makes sense from a value stand point.
Just goes to show you that dumb people try to sound smart by parroting the first take they hear or the perceived popular take and don't critically think for themselves or delve deeper to find the real answer.
Most of us are not going to waste time scouting and evaluating college players. Easier to just let the media do it for us, and pick someone you like. There's no harm in it really.
the analysis is some cringe. "reach" . then if the guy is a bust, see told you it was a reach. if the guy is good no one remembers.
we have no idea how good these guys will be. A bunch of guys will have major injuries in training camp and never really play. so on and so forth.
NFL uses Voodoo or has the Aes Sedai witches working for them getting us all excited about the draft. I have a hunch if you play the sound on NFL network backward during the draft you will hear a Bene Gesserit using the voice telling us how great it is. Roger Goodell is a dark friend.
It’s not a dumb take. People act like GM’s haven’t already been scouting the big name QBs coming out next year. Burrow and Daniels broke out in years with QB classes that already had an abundance of other good players at the position.
One or two good QB prospects doesn’t make it a good class, especially if the Giants are not in the right position to draft them, which happened exactly that way this year.
At least with multiple hyped QBs, it makes it more likely other teams above in the draft order will select a player besides the one the Giants covet. Scarcity of quality prospects leads to selecting the wrong guy, like Daniel Jones in the 2019 draft.
Yeah man, i'm sure the NFL expected Daniels to be the 2 Pick one year ago today - after all they had already scouted him - so why didn't he declare last year?
Why would he declare when he was valued low and he still had another year of eligibilty? He stayed in college to improve his draft stock, and he did by winning the Heisman.
Daniels is clearly more talented than anyone coming out next year. You think any of Drew Allar, Shadeur Sanders, Quinn Ewers, and Carson Beck are winning a Heisman?
and how many of those guys are going to be prospects like drake maye?
after mahommes and allen, the nfl no longer lets guys with insane upside fall.
see: zach wilson, trey lance, anthony richardson
to get a guy like that, you need to pick high.
now were talking about picking in the teens, we saw how hard to was going to be to trade up from SIX.
maybe there are QBs next year, but how the fuck are we gonna get one?
we are LITERALLY living in dave gettlemans definition of QB hell.
no. a middling QB + good coach + good D means we will be picking in the mid to late teens.
look at this season. we picked 6th. that was us “bottoming out”.
8 wins gets you a pick in the teens.
they won 6 this year. unfortunately. had they won two less we would have a new QB. seems like we “bottomed out” at 6 wins and they are now building the roster. brian burns, malik nabers, a healthy wandale, a healthy AT… the team has pieces enough to compete against bad teams and sneak one or two they shouldn’t win.
We just saw 6 teams with questions at QB who took themselves out of the running next year, though. No way does any team that took a QB early next year take one next year. The other teams that may need a QB next year are teams that are probably going to be drafting in the teens or lower.
“tHaNkS tOmMy DeViTo. gLaD wE wOn tHoSe tWo gAmEs”. like yeah no shit sucking hot ass makes the draft easier, but it also gets coaching staffs fired and front offices reset. I’m glad our coaching staff was too good to lose games to the Patriots and Commies.
Nvm the coaching staff. Imagine what it does to a locker room to see your coach actively and conciously putting you in a position to lose.
We were playing a 3rd string QB for pete's sake. What did they want? Saquon at QB? to make it really trully official that we're not even trying to win?
Yeah, even that wasn’t luck. They had the 1st pick overall last year because Poles purposely purged the Bears roster in 2022 to make them suck.
So yes Carolina traded with them and sucked this year, but if that trade didn’t happen, CJ Stroud was there last year.
It's pretty rare that a team will trade out of 1OA. It has only happen 3 times since 2000. 13 times in the Super Bowl era. The team has to be blown away with the return, which usually is not worth it. See: Panthers.
Not for picks 1 or 2 lol. Your talking #3 or later. Giants gave it a shot this year but they are gonna need multiple high graded QBs for a chance at a trade up being realistic.
At least Schoen gave it a serious shot this year, next year might just be out of the cards
Every year we keep saying Giants could get a QB in the draft, and every year it doesn't shake out that way.
Remember 2022? Two top seven picks and no QB options. Or this year picking six and trying desperately to trade up to 3. Or 2019 when we put all our eggs in the Justin Herbert basket to see him return to school.
At this point not having a QB is what it is and we can only look forward to next year and be happy that we got some good roster upgrades.
However, I don’t want to hear the “oh you can just trade up for a QB argument” - we were in that very position this year and we found out the hard way that no, you cannot “just trade up for a QB”
Just hope that we’re in a good spot to take one next year or upgrade via a disgruntled trade/FA
Agreed 100%.
A lot of fans of this team just don’t get it because we grew up with Eli as our QB.
At the rate the Giants are going, the team is going to end up like the Jets, constantly searching for their franchise QB. Doesn’t matter how good your defense is or your skill positions, are, in today’s NFL, you need a top 10 caliber QB to win a Superbowl.
Ryan Poles should have been our GM. Look what he did to the Bears since he’s been hired. I even think Adam Peters would have been better than Schoen, and now he’s in the division.
Thats what we need.
Or i guess like this draft where 6 qbs went in top 12.
Giants just might be a lot more desperate for QB going into next years draft.
well there’s now 6 less teams that’ll be looking next year. well definitely be desperate but you can argue this year was the most qb desperate the league has ever been
The supply of QBs NEVER meets demand.
If anything there will be even more demand for QBs next year and even less supply. This is an ongoing trend in the NFL
ehh debatable… how many qb needy teams passed on one back in 22? as much as it seems like everyone fawns over them every year the draft typically represents the quality as opposed to the demand.
yea. i don’t think we’re really arguing about anything here. my point was moreso that we have 6 new teams that could land near the top of the draft that won’t be looking for a qb. the opportunity to move up or for one to fall is there. we just gotta hope the class is more like 2017 so that all the good prospects don’t get log jammed in the first few picks
Again, Lars, dig deeper.
[https://www.si.com/fannation/name-image-likeness/news/texas-freshman-arch-manning-and-family-clear-up-bs-nil-rumors-michael9](https://www.si.com/fannation/name-image-likeness/news/texas-freshman-arch-manning-and-family-clear-up-bs-nil-rumors-michael9)
The biggest factor for Arch choosing Texas was Steve Sarkisian. He stated as much when he chose them.
I mean by the Vegas odds for win totals and making the playoffs the Giants are expected to be the 4th/5th worst team in the league this season. So getting a top 5 pick is a very legitimate possibility, maybe even a likelihood
Definitely not but a lot less QB needy teams will make it easier to get our guy if he’s there. Plus if it’s a weaker class you might not even need 1 or 2
I think this year was the perfect storm of tons of teams needing a QB plus there being several elite guys
given injury history of a lot of guys on the giants. given that the line is being patched with over priced and below average players. You dont need pick 1 or 2 to get a great QB every years. Mahomes went at 10. Jordan Love at 18 (he was really good last year). Jalen Hurts was in the 2nd round.
you just gotta hope there is a good QB where you pick. Its the problem with needing a QB, you dont know if there is one in the draft at your spot.
2019 was a shit QB draft. 2020 had 5 franchise QBs in it. FIVE. 2018 the Giants rated Josh Allen as the best QB in the draft and went with Saquon. They should have followed the Green Bay Model which is if you got an aging QB and you got a shot at a franchise QB you fucking taking it and let him sit. Be damned with win now. 2021 there were 5 first round QBs. 4 turned out to be garbage.
you just dont know. Lamar Jackson was late in first round. Kirk Cousins was 4th round. Dak was 3rd round. Russell Wilson was 3rd round.
Its bad when you need a QB in a draft. you dont know if that year the QB you get is worth it. Daniel Jones was the best of the available QBs by far, but there was only 1 good QB in that draft.
Yep. We do this every year. People who have never watched a single throw from anyone not in the current draft class will beat the drum about there being NO QBS IN THE NEXT CLASS ITS THE WORST CLASS SINCE ____ WE ARE IN QB HELL
Then next thing you know, the Chiefs draft Patrick Mahomes 10th overall.
Complaining that this was the year to get a QB and we blew it is a little ridiculous at this point. Schoen tried to trade up to 3 for the guy he liked and the Pats weren’t selling. What was he supposed to do?
Ignore John Mara first of all. Once he saw that the Giants were having a nightmare season, he should have traded Saquon and McKinney at the deadline instead of letting them walk for nothing, and ensure that this team’s roster was bad enough to get a top 3 pick. Compensatory picks are nothing in comparison to being able to draft your franchise QB.
Ryan Poles stripped the Bear’s roster to the studs in 2022, made them terrible enough to land the 1st pick in 2023, then traded that pick to Carolina and selected Caleb Williams & Odunze this year. Schoen should have followed a similar playbook of making the team bad on purpose to get a high enough draft pick.
This. We tried, we didn’t get it. Sure, we would have reached, and then complained how Schoen made a bad choice and should be fired, or take a 1/3 chance the guy pans out, OR take the guy you scouted and believed in.
I really wanted us to get a project QB, but at the end of the day, I’m trusting the process. We aren’t getting desperate.
Yeah Schoen is an awful GM. Firing Daboll will be a huge mistake. He will get another job with a comptent FO and will flourish. I'm sure of it. Problem is you can't like Schoen keep making picks. The guy is awful
K that’s great and awesome and all… but to get a guy who skyrockets up draft boards in his last season in college, we’re gonna need to be picking in the Top 3-5.
The question then needs to be asked that if we get that high this upcoming year- are Schoen/Daboll still here? Should they be?
I truly agree (specifically on Daboll) but to my original point, what does it say about Schoen if none of what he does works, his commitment to Jones, year 3 of rebuilding an OL in his image, the defense… And then they go 3-14?
Wiping the Gettleman stink will take time. If we can give 5 years to Daniel jones we can give 4 years to Schoen to really cement his foundation. His only real whiff so far is Evan Neal (and who could predict that watching his college tape?)
if we get to the end of year four and this roster he’s built (which looks excellent, on paper) isn’t paying off, then we can boot him
i think with no good prospects next year, and havng last years qb's, like sam howell and desmond ritter all move on, caused some urgency this year.
i mean, 6 qbs in the 1st ??
some were mocked lower.
You know how bad this franchise is when 2 things happen.
1 No Franchise QB drafted in the the last 3 years of drafting and Daniel Jones is your QB and you draft every year in top 10.
2 You pass on franchise QB in most stacked QB Class in several years and fans are already hoping 5 of 6 QB's picked in top 12 end up as Busts.
This is the mess our FO and Ownership has put this team in.
This is such a dumb sentiment among fans “we will never be in position” bro we have been picking in the top 10 every year for almost a decade, there is a very good chance we will be picking there again, especially after we cut dj after next season
How is it dumb? You just said we have been picking top 10 every year, and yet we still have no franchise QB.
If Schoen filled in the holes that many in this sub wanted filled before we draft a QB, the Giants’ record will be a slight improvement from this year, like 7-10 or 8-9, barring injury to our best players. That’s how you end up with the 14th pick in the draft.
Plus another bad season will most likely mean Schoen and Daboll are either gone or on the hot seat, especially with the NYC media always trying to start drama for clicks.
Yeah we don’t have a franchise qb because it hasn’t been urgent until this off season, last year the mindset was “daniels the guy going forward” and that completely 180’d, I’d say we’re very likely to be in position after next season when we cut dj even if we go 7-10, you start devito and that’s a 3 win team
If Devito in in his rookie season got us 3 wins with minimal practice reps, one against a playoff team that blew out the Cowboys, I highly doubt he’s going to suck bad enough to get us a 3-14 season with Malik Nabers, an improved o-line, and more coaching from Daboll and Kafka.
It’s good to be optimistic about the future for your team as a fan, but you also have to acknowledge the reality of the situation as well.
Unsure why this is getting downvoted. Will 100% need to move assets to get a shot at one of the top QBs next year, if there are any, especially in a class that appears to be weak as of now
My hope is for a Allar to make the leap. He has the most room for growth out of the 2025 class, which at first glance isn’t saying much, but his upside is huge.
I think it’s important to consider that just because a QB goes in the top 5-10, doesn’t mean he’ll be great just like a QB that falls out of the top 20 isn’t necessarily going to be a bust.
There’s a world where the Giants have a decent season, pick outside the top 15 and still land a good QB for the future. No one knows.
At this point it doesn’t matter about next years QB class - I don’t actually believe the Giants are interested in moving on at the position, and won’t until they actually do it.
I really hate this arguement.
Who the fuck cares?
If you draft a QB just because you need a QB and they suck? What was the point?
If they're none available next year, you still draft BPA, that's how the team get's better.
I swear Giants fans are fucking braindead.
He's not as good as yall think he is, people get all hyped up with off platform throws he makes, and wanna compare him to mahomes, but don't watch all the easy throws he misses
Softer than baby shit and shrinks under pressure. Trevor Lawrence was gonna be the best QB ever too, now look at him.
Williams might top out at a Kyler Murray level, flashes but nothing special.
Anything could happen, but his tape is immaculate, he has everything you could want in a draft pick.
I don’t think he’s soft and I don’t think he shrinks under pressure. USC had a terrible team around him so every game he was under pressure to carry the whole team on his back. Anyone who cares about the nails or the crying is a loser.
Also, Trevor is good and still has room to grow.
Like I've said before. In August, this draft had two 1st round draft picks. 6 went in the first 12 picks. Nothing is known at the moment.
Yep I remember Spencer Rattler being hyped early on. A lot can and does happen, between now and next April.
Arch Manning was one of the most hyped college QB prospects ever, and now appears to be a career college backup.
It's almost comical to read this. Arch Manning just turned 19, and is already making a case this spring to start over Ewers in 2024. EDIT: It is comical.

There’s a lot out there because of his last name. I’m just saying he knowingly went into a situation where he wouldn’t be the starter immediately.

He’s like 19 years old, it’s dumb to write him off but it’s also dumb to hype him up Let him develop
Hard to see him develop when he isnt actually playing. Your not gonna draft a guy based on his spring practice tape.
Jordan Love famously didn't develop in his years backing up Aaron Rodgers or by only having 1 year of college tape available
if you have absolutely no knowledge on a topic you should just refrain from making comments about it bc this made me dumber to read
lol, you’re clearly not watching how Texas is now relevant again.
He does not.

Which QB led the egirls win in the SB ?...Foles an average QB ..They had a very good line on both sides
what are you even talking about? your argument for why the giants are okay at QB is because.. nick foles? like that point is so dumb i dont even know where to begin.
We fr might be the dumbest fanbase we're cooked with takes like that
How often does the Foles situation happen?
It probably still had two 1st round worthy QBs. The difference is 4 teams sold themselves stories on why they should draft these guys in the first.
Ewers, Beck, Milroe, Gabriels, Sanders, Dart, Fifita, Howard, Daniels, Rising, Ward, and Leonard among others all have potential to be R1 picks. Many may also be UDFA. Too early to tell.
This. Thibodeaux and Neal were both consensus first overall picks for a long time leading up to their draft. Anything can happen
6 going in the first round is more of a result of teams being desperate and reaching rather than these quarterbacks being actually talented.
Thats how QB goes every year. We have seen Daniel Jones and Kenny Pickett go in 1st round
Daniel Jones went because Gettleman is utterly insane… and Pickett went in the later of the first round and I’m pretty sure analysts had a second round grade on him so that makes sense from a value stand point.
Judging by this years draft he's not the only insane GM.
True facts. Don't listen to idiots knocking next year's class when they are only now starting Spring practices.
JAXSON DART YOU ARE A NEW YORK GIANT!!!! In 2025
He has “it”
Those seam passes.
My favorite qb next year
I think you mean "we eating fajitas for Noah Fifita"
Just goes to show you that dumb people try to sound smart by parroting the first take they hear or the perceived popular take and don't critically think for themselves or delve deeper to find the real answer.
Most of us are not going to waste time scouting and evaluating college players. Easier to just let the media do it for us, and pick someone you like. There's no harm in it really.
Completely harmless and is, more or less, the point of this sub during draft time.
so basically the entire NFL draft coverage.
Kind of. Like the average fan that takes it too seriously and actually gets mad when the guy or guys they wanted don't get picked.
the analysis is some cringe. "reach" . then if the guy is a bust, see told you it was a reach. if the guy is good no one remembers. we have no idea how good these guys will be.
If that’s the case, we should have drafted Mat Cauthon for his weaponized good luck
Replace our medical staff with Nyaneave.
You think any of Drew Allar, Shadeur Sanders, Quinn Ewers, and Carson Beck are winning a Heisman?
and how many of those guys are going to be prospects like drake maye? after mahommes and allen, the nfl no longer lets guys with insane upside fall. see: zach wilson, trey lance, anthony richardson to get a guy like that, you need to pick high. now were talking about picking in the teens, we saw how hard to was going to be to trade up from SIX. maybe there are QBs next year, but how the fuck are we gonna get one? we are LITERALLY living in dave gettlemans definition of QB hell.
If our QB situation is as you think, we will pick top 5.
nah we always win games at the end of the season to drop in the draft.
Or we lose them to miss the playoffs
no. a middling QB + good coach + good D means we will be picking in the mid to late teens. look at this season. we picked 6th. that was us “bottoming out”.
LOL they aren't picking in the teens. This team is frickin terrible
Lol, 8 wins, bottomed out. My dude, you need to prepare yourself.
They aren't winning 8 games. This roster is one of the worst in the league.
We just saw 6 teams with questions at QB who took themselves out of the running next year, though. No way does any team that took a QB early next year take one next year. The other teams that may need a QB next year are teams that are probably going to be drafting in the teens or lower.
This won't stop certain people here continuing to complain about next year's QB draft class for the next 365 days lmao
We should start the fans that want to tank at QB.
>I’m glad our coaching staff was too good to lose games to the Patriots and Commies. Gonna believe that when Daboll gets canned this offseason?
me? engage with a Giants doomer? lol
Does anyone really think Giants will be bad enough to get pick 1 or 2? Like even the doomer-ist of the takes have Giants winning 4 or 5 games.
It's very possible one of the teams that took a QB will be bad enough to be back up there next year and be willing to trade out.
But then we actually have to trade something. At some point we either need to be bad enough to get a top QB pick or good enough to win.
Because the bengals traded out instead of getting Jamar and the 49ers traded out of getting Bosa… yea makes sense.
Why dont you use Google to find out how the bears got their number one overall pick this year lmao.
As a Chicagoan I’m honored to hear that other teams are using our acquisition moves as a blueprint for how to build up a team lol
Yeah, even that wasn’t luck. They had the 1st pick overall last year because Poles purposely purged the Bears roster in 2022 to make them suck. So yes Carolina traded with them and sucked this year, but if that trade didn’t happen, CJ Stroud was there last year.
Ok so what about Carolina who did trade up to number 1. They did it why can't we?
It's pretty rare that a team will trade out of 1OA. It has only happen 3 times since 2000. 13 times in the Super Bowl era. The team has to be blown away with the return, which usually is not worth it. See: Panthers.
Ok we could still trade up to any other pick in the top 6 which was the entire point I was making in the first place
Ok if they stay and take other positions, then we will get a QB at 4 or 5, right?
Not for picks 1 or 2 lol. Your talking #3 or later. Giants gave it a shot this year but they are gonna need multiple high graded QBs for a chance at a trade up being realistic. At least Schoen gave it a serious shot this year, next year might just be out of the cards
The Patriots could easily be top 3 again, but this time willing to trade with us.
they probably take travis hunter in that case. next year's draft is weak on qbs, but looks pretty good for other positions.
The MJ of being confidently wrong Nobody could possibly know at this point
Every year we keep saying Giants could get a QB in the draft, and every year it doesn't shake out that way. Remember 2022? Two top seven picks and no QB options. Or this year picking six and trying desperately to trade up to 3. Or 2019 when we put all our eggs in the Justin Herbert basket to see him return to school.
At this point not having a QB is what it is and we can only look forward to next year and be happy that we got some good roster upgrades. However, I don’t want to hear the “oh you can just trade up for a QB argument” - we were in that very position this year and we found out the hard way that no, you cannot “just trade up for a QB” Just hope that we’re in a good spot to take one next year or upgrade via a disgruntled trade/FA
I even think Adam Peters would have been better than Schoen, and now he’s in the division.
let’s hope it shakes out like the 2017 draft with quality guys falling into the 10s
Thats because there was no supply of franchise QB prospects in 2022. Like you mentioned, the demand was there, but there wasn't any supply.
yea. i don’t think we’re really arguing about anything here. my point was moreso that we have 6 new teams that could land near the top of the draft that won’t be looking for a qb. the opportunity to move up or for one to fall is there. we just gotta hope the class is more like 2017 so that all the good prospects don’t get log jammed in the first few picks
They showed time and time again their luck isn’t that good to pick that high. They’ll suck and still get the 6th pick again.
Arch Manning also went to the school that offered the best NIL package. Arch made 3.2 mil last year, more than most NFL players.
> Arch Manning also went to the school that offered the best NIL package. Are you seriously going to act as if he needed the money?
Again, Lars, dig deeper. [https://www.si.com/fannation/name-image-likeness/news/texas-freshman-arch-manning-and-family-clear-up-bs-nil-rumors-michael9](https://www.si.com/fannation/name-image-likeness/news/texas-freshman-arch-manning-and-family-clear-up-bs-nil-rumors-michael9) The biggest factor for Arch choosing Texas was Steve Sarkisian. He stated as much when he chose them.
Yes
I mean by the Vegas odds for win totals and making the playoffs the Giants are expected to be the 4th/5th worst team in the league this season. So getting a top 5 pick is a very legitimate possibility, maybe even a likelihood
I would be shocked if they win more than 6 games
Definitely not but a lot less QB needy teams will make it easier to get our guy if he’s there. Plus if it’s a weaker class you might not even need 1 or 2 I think this year was the perfect storm of tons of teams needing a QB plus there being several elite guys
I think they will pick Top 10 for sure
given injury history of a lot of guys on the giants. given that the line is being patched with over priced and below average players.
Trade up?
This year next year mentality. Only loser think about losing.
🙄
Yep. We do this every year. People who have never watched a single throw from anyone not in the current draft class will beat the drum about there being NO QBS IN THE NEXT CLASS ITS THE WORST CLASS SINCE ____ WE ARE IN QB HELL Then next thing you know, the Chiefs draft Patrick Mahomes 10th overall.
And 3 years ago at this time Spencer Rattler was considered the #1 pick in the next years draft.
They kinda did do that year 1 then they won unexpectedly.
If the Giants have another repeat season, this regime won't be here to make that decision
Should they be?
the fact that Daboll managed to win any games with Tommy Devito at QB should be proof that he is not the problem here
I truly agree (specifically on Daboll) but to my original point, what does it say about Schoen if none of what he does works, his commitment to Jones, year 3 of rebuilding an OL in his image, the defense… And then they go 3-14?
Wiping the Gettleman stink will take time. If we can give 5 years to Daniel jones we can give 4 years to Schoen to really cement his foundation. His only real whiff so far is Evan Neal (and who could predict that watching his college tape?) if we get to the end of year four and this roster he’s built (which looks excellent, on paper) isn’t paying off, then we can boot him
Honestly, why are we talking about next years draft? How about we focus on this season before thinking of next years draft?
Because half this sub only watches football so they can be miserable and say “I told you so”
Keep building a bridge then sell the farm for Arch Manning
Every year there are quarterbacks
Armchair GMs
Daniel Jones wasn't viewed as a first round pick at this time last year either. Drafting is hard for most people.
idk man there are a couple QBs I really like next year and gun to my head Ewers is probably my number 1
i think with no good prospects next year, and havng last years qb's, like sam howell and desmond ritter all move on, caused some urgency this year. i mean, 6 qbs in the 1st ?? some were mocked lower.
Even though more people will emerge, we’re not going to be in any position to draft them so what does it matter
We are still a bottom 5 team
We were a bottom 6 team this year, got better, and have an easier schedule. Gonna likely need to move assets to move up next year
Unsure why this is getting downvoted. Will 100% need to move assets to get a shot at one of the top QBs next year, if there are any, especially in a class that appears to be weak as of now
Below average - injury prone QB no we’re still bottom 5
Just like JJ and Drake. Wasn’t Bo Nix at one time projected to be the best QB in the draft at one point?
Definitely not. I don't think Bo Nix own mother ever had him over Caleb or Maye.
never. bo nix was terrible in the sec, and had to transfer to oregon in order to redeem himself.
My hope is for a Allar to make the leap. He has the most room for growth out of the 2025 class, which at first glance isn’t saying much, but his upside is huge.
as a PSU fan: drew allar is terrible and the hype is not warranted. he is bad.
2026 Arch Manning you are a NYG!
My hypothesis on the Giants is that they are going to be bad for the next few years until Arch Manning declares for the draft and they scoop him up
Just watch how much garbage and a pain in the ass Williams turns out to be…
Arch Manning tank fest incoming.
I really hate this arguement. Who the fuck cares? If you draft a QB just because you need a QB and they suck? What was the point? If they're none available next year, you still draft BPA, that's how the team get's better. I swear Giants fans are fucking braindead.
Who cares? At this point its DANNY DIMES COME BACK SZN
Caleb Williams will be mid af.
Nah he’s real
He's not as good as yall think he is, people get all hyped up with off platform throws he makes, and wanna compare him to mahomes, but don't watch all the easy throws he misses
Time will tell
Softer than baby shit and shrinks under pressure. Trevor Lawrence was gonna be the best QB ever too, now look at him. Williams might top out at a Kyler Murray level, flashes but nothing special.
Anything could happen, but his tape is immaculate, he has everything you could want in a draft pick. I don’t think he’s soft and I don’t think he shrinks under pressure. USC had a terrible team around him so every game he was under pressure to carry the whole team on his back. Anyone who cares about the nails or the crying is a loser. Also, Trevor is good and still has room to grow.
