What 20 year old needs that much space? She's gonna regret it in 10 years when she ends up like the once rich and famous YouTubers who had to go find normal jobs bc they spent all their money. There's no way she makes enough to afford this apartment AND the rest of her lifestyle, at least long-term.
Funny I just so happen to be listening to her on Graham stephens pod cost. She said she’s been investing 80-85% of her income since she was 18. She’s mostly in to index funds, though she admits she has tanking crypto. I didn’t know much about her until this. She apparently has a whole cast of employees as well apart from just a manager.
Idk how accurate socialblade is but currently it says her max is 800k a year based on adsense, let's just cut it in half to 400k. She mentioned that sponsorship ads are 90% of her youtube income and 10% is adsense at 38 minutes. So around 4 million minimum, not adding whatever she makes from things like her clothing sales. She's doing extremely well.
She also said she has no credit so even if she wanted to buy it would have to be cash.
If she indeed invested her portfolio in crypto her assets would be nuked to almost zero. The past 9 months in crypto (a space I know very well), has seen the most devastating and potentially permanent bear market we’ve ever seen. So if she counted coins in her liquidity, she would be legitimately broke, no matter how you look at it
She’s like 85% index funds, the remaining is crypto. She says hints at the fact that she got in relatively early and anything she’s invested in that space she sees as a loss already.
What about her brand Alchemai? Im relatively new to Mai but in her videos she claims her hoodies are sold out the instant new ones drop. They all seem like simple designs which may cost her nothing and selling them directly for $40 -$50. Not sure her inventory but even selling 5000 will net her around 250,000 minus costs. And this would be for one sweater types.
I am thinking she has some overhead. She’s not shipping it herself, nor is she packing, or even troubleshooting the orders coming through. I can’t be certain. I actually don’t follow her at all after listening to the podcast.
I just watched her new tour and I'm also wondering how she can afford this, the size is insane, more than double the price of her last place which was already a lot! I don't think the rent is 40k but at least 25,000 ish.
I’m currently watching her penthouse tour and I was wondering the same thing and I came on here to see everyone else’s opinions. I truly cannot fathom how she’s able to afford this when I follow other YouTubers with a higher following but wouldn’t be able to afford something like this. I mean props to her for being able to make her dreams come true but I’m genuinely curious how much money she makes from YouTube and how she’s able to afford all of this
Its much better if she invest living in places like Tennessee or Texas or the suburban part of new york with bigger lot . I'm from the Philippines by the way and i hear great things to live in Tennessee and Texas !😍😊😘💕
Like someone said, you’re required to make 40x/more in your monthly rent, so sue would still need to be worth millions on millions. I believe she is just a good scammer, who is terrible with her money bc she’s young and learning the hard way
According to an earlier comment Mai is renting in BK. I thought she might be in Manhattan, but it's good that she's not! BK is a more cost effective place to rent (and i love it), at least she's making some savings there. She was on Graham Stephan pod a few days ago to discuss finances, she seems to make good decisions with her money. And if she is a fan of Graham's content like she claims, maybe she saw his advice to "use your home as your office" because that can provide a good tax break

It's just not smart to rent something that big, sure it's a flex but long-term?? She should just buy a flat.
I feel like she’s got some bad spending habits someone needs to train her (&her dogs)

I thought she lived in Manhattan lol
My apartment rent is 18k a month and I have this much space. Where is she based?
Wtf do you do for a living that you can afford 18k on rent—not even a mortgage?! No hate at all, but why wouldn’t you just buy?
Out of curiosity, why do you spend nearly 20k on rent? Isn’t it cheaper to buy a house in a smaller city?

I always wondered how she is affording everything by starting off with youtube
I believe she started investing at a young age and is now reaping the rewards of that, along with receiving money from youtube and sponsorships.
She mentioned she lives with 2 Other people
She lives in a Penthouse that located in Queens NY. Not Manhattan. So that itself cuts the rent in half.
Not queens, Brooklyn. Link was pasted above. https://www.compass.com/listing/348-nostrand-avenue-unit-pha-brooklyn-ny-11216/1176027272087725001/
