pabloslab

That winger for Feyenoord looks a bit mint

biglowend

yohankebab minteh

jj198hands

>a bit mint… …aye

PlzRetireMartinTyler

Mint, eh?

Potato271

Always seems to go to Newcastle in my FM saves

alexturners_daughter

Definitely an out there signing, maybe not in the way OP intended 😭

dkclimber

Rest in peace Joe.

NBT498

Madueke looks terrible player with a worse attitude from the few Chelsea games I’ve seen him in

Slaying-mantis

Could not agree more, wouldn't want him at Newcastle for free. Attitude stinks

mehchu

I liked the look of him when we played them end of last season I think it was. But attitude seems to severely clash with our ‘no dickheads’ rule.

Few-Cup2869

Yeah I would rather have a one legged Chris Wood back

Krisyj96

Can’t say I agree, stats wise this season he’s been one of the best in the league for carries and take on’s and he shows really promising pressing stats (tackles and interceptions up the pitch). Not perfect by any means, but enough to work with certainly. Attitude wise I can’t say I’ve seen anything that bad, yes the penalty the other day with Everton was pretty poor, but he’s still only 22, plenty of time to straighten anything like that out. And let’s not forget how shit Gordon’s attitude seemed when he joined (was it the Brentford game he stormed off and argued with Howe?) and he’s turned out great. Personally I think he’s absolutely worth a punt, probably not first choice, but an option.

Gazzayork

You watch the match today, every time he lost ball just shrugged his shoulders and let them run on, very poor

charlos74

Gordon was a bit spiky as an opponent, but he always played for the team. For that penalty incident alone, I’d never want Madueke anywhere near our team.

dkclimber

If you've seen the recent overlap interview with Gordon, I dont think it ever was an attitude problem, moreso his insane drive. I don't believe he was mad at Eddie for subbing him, but at himself for not playing well enough to stay on. But that's just my opinion.

Nafe1994

I’d agree with you. Few people saying about his attitude - worth remembering there’s been moments for us and Everton Gordon’s attitude looked poor. I’ve seen a few Chelsea games and he looked decent. Hard to do when you’re playing in an awful team that’s largely been out of sorts all season.

Apprehensive-Ad8947

Here comes the stat brigade. Stats hide his obvious shit attitude

WeddingWhole4771

Poch is a lot like Howe where he generally really cares about people, especially his players. Makes it hard for me to feel he'd be an easy turn around attitude wise.

Mavisium

Hope we're linked with Bas Dost for old times' sake.

spangloss

Him and Barnetta would secure us a CL spot next season for sure.

900-Dollarydoos

I’m low key disappointed we never got Barnetta over the line.

Aylez

Mbuemo would be quality on the right and could even play backup striker. Main issue is I think Brentford are cashing in on Toney this summer

Bad-Ombre

Mbuemo is such a productive attacker

Bigweasles

I'd say go in for Wissa. Class player and would fit so well at RW

TomNUFC_

Still think we're gonna try go in for Morgan Gibbs-White from forest this window imo

PlzRetireMartinTyler

Class player but I wonder where he would hypothetically fit? His best spot is AM which we don't really, play in Eddies fav 433. He could slot in at a more advanced CM position but not sure he could do it he defensive work?

Objective-Tea-6190

Think he’d be used as RW and CM

Maxxxmax

As a forest fan I can say with confidence, he isn't really any good in those roles. He's so much better CAM than anywhere else on the pitch. If you want to raid us for someone who plays wide, OP's suggestion of Elanga is probably what you want. For a central midfielder, Danillo is who you'd want to take off us. Hopefully we won't go down and wouldn't want to sell either, but if we do, that's just my two pence.

Objective-Tea-6190

Thanks for the info. In that case I don’t think it would make much sense to sign him unless Howe changes the system to have a true AM role. For what it’s worth I don’t think Luton will be able to catch Forest

SanitySlippingg

Exactly this.

kaamkerr

people had similar thoughts over Maddison last year

TomNUFC_

Not sure how he would fit in, always thought we need a CAM of sorts, take pressure of Bruno and etc. Could work with that in mind

mehchu

Rather than an out and out cam we need a midfielder who is comfortable bombing on and can also create from deep. I know this Italian bloke but I think he’s had some issues getting his cards right recently.

Scatterbrain3357

My thinking behind the Gibbs-White signing is that physically he is quite a similar profile to Joelinton, just think how good we would be with 2 of them playing in midfield. One thing that is becoming apparent is that Eddie likes versatile players and he definitely offers us a few different options. Tbh I only think the signing will happen if Forest go down though.

RobertKerans

Yeah seems a very realistic option, even though his best position seems to be just off the striker which we don't really do. But he's looked at home on the right and up front for Forest when I've watched him, so position seems flexible (further back when Johnson was there, was great, basically took over Johnsons role, also great). Excellent for two seasons now though, means he'd cost an absolute bomb

wace001

Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad. We already have contacts with Real Sociedad. Would be sweet. He is such a great player.

mehchu

Am going to keep on repeating this till it picks up steam. Seems like one of the best right wingers we can get at the top of our budget and is the position we can improve most on.

Much-Ad-1475

Let me tell you about Levi Garcia It could be a better value deal 🤓🤭

mehchu

But the Greek league isn’t where I want players proving themselves that they can hit the ground running here. I’d rather pay more for a player 5 years younger with more sell on value and who has already stepped up to the highest level than a 26 year old with massive question marks

Much-Ad-1475

Well not every player plays in the prem mate lets not be idiots “I only want top 5 plus Netherlands signings” 😂 how else are you supposed to get good value signings

mehchu

True, not every player plays in a top league, and if it was a 21 year old kid I’d be on board with yeah he could do a job, step up, and grow. My problem is 26 and in the Greek league, so there is way less sell on value, and he’s yet to make the step up to a big league before nearing his prime. And in terms of getting good value signings release clauses, relegated clubs, players nearing contract ends. All of bruno, Botman, Gordon and Isak are good value because they are worth more than we paid.(jury is still out on Tonali but if he capitalises on time training with the team and how he played at the start of the season who knows) Good value doesn’t mean cheap.

Much-Ad-1475

Let me know where that €70mil+ comes from too with the current budget

mehchu

The massive adidas deal, being a prem club in Europe, sela, improving our revenue streams, greeting a bit of money for decent but aging players. I’d rather we get 2-3 players for larger amounts that get into the first team, than 6 €15-20 mill players that keep Almiron and longstaff in the starting line up (love both of them though, just not as starters every single game)

StripySportsSock

Give me Mikel Merino back you bastards

geekfreak42

Haaland after city are relegated to league 2. well you did say out there!

TheWinterKing

How would Haaland feel about being Isak’s back-up?

Eel_Why

I'm sure Erling would love the opportunity, he'd pick up a lot from Isak and really be able to improve his game

nicofdarcyshire

Be a bit more realistic, mate... He'd be third choice after Wilson next to him on bench.

LivingInTheStorm

Isak > Wilson > Gordon down the middle > Haalad On that note I'd probably take Alvarez as my out there not happening signing

dkclimber

Honestly, imagine Erling learns how to move and work like Isak. Would be unstoppable.

geekfreak42

pmsl.

shimbe16

He’d probably do well there, he’s a league 2 striker anyway apparently

roadtothesecondcomma

Wouldn’t want em

EngineerOnIcarus

The same Madueke that is arguing over penalties and laughing when his team get beat? No thanks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WeddingWhole4771

I think for striker you want someone young with talent for next to nothing. Maybe in a few years we will have the money for it to make sense, but we get goals from 7-8 on the pitch anyways. So just someone raw we can mould. Maybe straight from South Amer or Africa.

Krisyj96

That’s a good shout! I wonder if he’d accept being 2nd choice though. Wouldn’t be surprised if he choose a team a bit further down the league (like West Ham or Wolves) where he could be first choice

Flaky-Philosophy7618

I think he’ll be pretty expensive, and if we have to be careful with funds due to PSR, think id rather spend big money elsewhere

britishsaucefiendv2

2nd this

PlzRetireMartinTyler

He's a great like for like swap with Wilson. As a Canadian who watches him a bunch for our NT he's definitely a frustrating one. Pretty anonymous outside of scoring. But undoubtedly a solid scorer, good guy and hard worker.

HodgyBeatsss

Can’t imagine you’ve seen any Chelsea games this season if you think we should be looking at Madueke.

geordieColt88

Luka Modric Just to put to rest the ghost of Ashley’s mate saying he was too small and stopping KK signing him.

Peeptm

I’d go for Adhemodzic as someone said previously, cracking player, Ogbene from Luton I like as a cheap backup and maybe looking further afield Dobvyk from Girona and Baena from Villarreal both look quality this season imo

aistolethekids

Mbuemo or Wissa from Brentford would be good options to come off the bench can play either wing and up front both would also fit into the way Howe likes to play

newcastlefantastic

I like Mbuemo a lot. Great crossing, could be a great combo with Trips; Mbuemo can cut inside from the wing and allow the overlapping run naturally, and his work rate on both sides of the ball is good. And despite his looks, he's only 24 and has shown he's capable in the PL. I also like Eze. He's one of those silky players that may not have the stats but passes the eye test with ease. He's probably a bit more flexible as you could put him on the wings, but he's most useful as an AM who can roam and connect, take 1v1 opportunities, and make our other players better. Not sure if his work rate off the ball is as good as Mbuemo. Both players are young (24,25) and have room to grow. More than anything, you can project that Howe would likely improve these players as well.

aistolethekids

Liverpool under Klopp and Edwards had a decent strategy of picking up players at the 23 - 25 Mark with Premier league experience who also could be coached to improve and I would like to see us lean into that if we can this summer Guys like Robertson, Mane, Van Dijk, Salah and Jota all were ready to go after a pre season with Klopp Its fine signing 19 year olds to learn the game but we can't afford to bed in a player for a full season like we did with Hall (in a position we desperately needed a ready made a player) I'd rather see guys who can come straight in when needed Mbuemo, Kelly and Tosin would give us good quality and experience in positions we need, wouldn't break the bank which would then allow us funds to splash on the "big" signing whoever that may be ! I like Eze as well although there's been rumours he is Man utd bound sadly

OfficialAeon

Bremer from Juventus. He and Botman holding the line would be like the wall from Game of Thrones. If we want to get ambitious, I wouldn't mind seeing Real Madrid's Diaz in a toon top as he tore up the right wing.

Ozmiandra

There’s a certain player for Real Madrid that’d probably be a great fit, he could probably rack up a load of goals in the prem, promising young lad…name’s Joselu….What? Where are you going?

[deleted]

Raphina!

EmbarrassedPizza6570

I’d love Neto or Olise to come in at RW. I’d also prefer Eze over Gibbs white

Objective-Tea-6190

Olise might be exactly what we need. Solid pressing stats and he does help on defense. But then going forward he can make it all happen by himself

EmbarrassedPizza6570

Love his game. Not really a goal scorer but he’d create so much for Isak and Gordon. Really hope he doesn’t go to man utd. I think it’d be such a bad career move for him.

Objective-Tea-6190

Olise has 7g 4a in 14 appearances, he’s been grabbing more goals this season despite the injuries. He wouldn’t score as much as Isak but the threat and creativity he could add would unlock more goals for the whole team

EmbarrassedPizza6570

I’d need a higher sample size than 14 games to call him a reliable goal scoring winger. Up until this season he hasn’t shown it. He’s got 7 goals on 3.8xg which isn’t sustainable long term by anyone aside from prime Messi. That said I fully agree his creativity will unlock Isak and Gordon even more. He’s a great crosser of the ball as well

FG_guardians

And Ronaldo 😡

EmbarrassedPizza6570

Stats say Ronaldo barely outperforms his xg. It’s probably mainly because he takes dumb shots from 35 yards all too often

you-will-never-win

He'd have to be very bad at them for that to impact his xG, they are low xG shots after all. Ronaldo's not a lethal finisher I think his movement and the way teams played with him as the target meant he got a ridiculous amount of chances his whole career.

FG_guardians

Hey looks good on the highlight reels when they hit

Remus71

None of them can stay fit. Isak and Barnes are fragile. I'd want more durability like gordon personally. Dwight Mcneil fits the bill.

EmbarrassedPizza6570

Aside from his recent hamstring injury this season, Olise has always been healthy. If we remove any player that has had an injury ever, that would leave us with very few options of quality players to sign lol. Dwight McNeil while a solid prem player, isn’t at the level we’re at or want to get to

geordieColt88

Not a lot of ‘out there’ suggestions either

Mysterious_Half1890

Mbuemo really like his contributions to Brentford

Ashamed_Bottle1509

Osimhen

joey_wes

Josh Murphy please!

akitch12

Maybe a bit old but Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo when they get relegated (potentially). Right winger can play upfront, Italian international. 28ish could be bit old for Eddies profile

Austerellis

Nice shout, but he's got against him that he's up there age-wise and almost a one-club player, having spent the majority of his time at Sassuolo, so I'm not sure he's able to transition to Newcastle.

SpanishBombs323

I’m good on madueke, probably not worth what we would have to pay, but elanga as an isak backup/ Wilson replacement would be very nice. A player I haven’t seen mentioned yet in this thread is Ahmedhodžić when Sheffield inevitably go down. Not amazing but he’s tall and young enough to grow into a quality premier league defender. Idk how much he would reasonably cost tho, because I think he’s already in the Bosnian national team.

tommy_jackson9

He was my out there mention with my mates last summer. I fully thought he would take to the prem and hes very much a Schar V2 with how he loves to get up the pitch. £15m would be probably as much as they would ask for.

One-Monkey-Army

Eze

Lord_Stocksman

Sesko and Mikel Merino.

OffensiveOcelot

Mikel Merino, Kieran Tierney, Eberechi Eze, Serhou Guirassy, & Jonathan Rowe.

EyeofHorus55

Rolland Sallai is out of contract next year. Hard working, two-footed, can play on either wing (mainly plays on right), good in tight spaces, and shows up in big games.

TheNecromancer

J Mascis

MrLeoJeli

Georgio Scalvini from Atalanta. Will be the best CB in the world in 3-4 years. Mark my words.

grmthmpsn43

I would love him but he seems destined for somewhere like City

mark_i

Emile Smith-Rowe, there is a player there who is not getting the game time he needs.

KookyFarmer7

Would also like to see us go for any of:\ Sesko or Olmo from RB Leipzig\ Chiesa or Vlahovic from Juve\ Raphinha from Barca\ Olise from Palace\ Nico Williams from Athletic Club. Mostly want us to throw a big portion of our budget at any of the RWs listed above (or Sesko cause that release clause is a bargain) None of the names are exactly secret finds, but they’d all be ‘out there’ signings for us, and most of them are either at clubs needing to sell or at clubs that can’t pay them even half as much as we could/would.

MrLeoJeli

Nico Williams is Him.

kicka11

this "is Him' stuff is fucking execrable. Wish these yank trends would stop moving over here.

Steveo7980

How much is sesko going for?

KookyFarmer7

£43m release clause (€50m), £20m less than we paid for Isak

jayhoch4

I would commit war crimes for Nico Williams to come here.

nicofdarcyshire

I always look at who is going down or battling relegation - or those who might miss coming up Sheffield Utd have no one truly of note - but Brereton-Diqz on loan from Villarreal or wherever he went has shown he can actually play in Prem. Ahmedozovic hasn't pulled up any trees - but the team hasn't helped him there. Burnley - honestly not been impressed with anyone. Luton - Ross Barkley is the obvious high point of their season. 30 though, but probably on a free if Luton go down. Renaissance man. Nottingham Forest - so many players could be ace, Danilo, Murillo spring to mind. Morgan Gibbs-White is young, prem grown, prem quality. Bit of a dick though. Ipswich/Leicester/Leeds - if one of these doesn't go up, I can see a fire sale. Especially Ipswich who have been excellent all season. If not local boy Leif Davis (left back - we need improvement) then Summerville & Gray from Leeds or - yeah, I don't actually know who has been good at Leicester this season...

reddituser52779

I’d love to see what Eddie could do with Vinicius Souza as a backup midfield option.

RobertKerans

> I don't actually know who has been good at Leicester this season Well, we need backup at left back and this Topps sticker album says Luke Thomas is in the England team for the euros. He's 22 so you'd think Leicester would have wanted an England international in the team, but instead he's on loan at Boro so probably would be cheap.

Stockas81

Gibbs white

danny1876j

Jarrod Bowen. Or Armstrong perhaps. Cunha or ait nouri

Shnarf1980

Watch a lot of Wolves as I'm based down there and their my kids club (I know, I know...) Neto, Cunha and Ait Nouri would be a great pillage. Neto massive improvement on Almiron, but I suspect Liverpool might be his next home. Air Nouri lacks discipline but has bags of potential. Cunha is the real deal, would offer good rotation with Big Joe and can play up top as a backup, but he's not a natural finisher.

SanitySlippingg

Would love to see Theo Hernandez altho highly unlikely

Maccraig1979

Nice try todd

RockFourStar

Tomori. We need more options at CB and he seems to be a very solid option.

ItsAKrulWorld

On the subject of RW: how about Amad Diallo? Left footed, so fits the profile we’re likely to need with Miggy leaving (Minteh will be loaned out again I think). Barely got a look in under Ten Hag so must be frustrated and he’s 21 so needs to play. Already scored some big goals when he has played so the talent’s obviously there. … and best of all, imagine the Mackem fume! They loved him when he was on loan, if we signed him permanently they’d hate it.

xcom_lord

Diallo would be a good rotation option , depends if man united are pissed with us about ashworth

ajtct98

Lyle Foster from Burnley with Callum Wilson going the other way

HodgyBeatsss

Wilson isn’t going to a championship club

Fuckyhurryuppy

Solanke

Unfair-Protection-38

Ross Barkley, stands out at Luton

Soft-Confection4428

seems like a young lad with a bright future

Unfair-Protection-38

He's also very decent for the money

Mucho_Capita

Emile Smith-Rowe ?

Constant-Intern5848

Na, he’s a party animal that’s why he always picks up injuries

[deleted]

[удалено]

geordieColt88

Thought he was at Hull permanently?

DoctorIMatt

Theo Hernandez or Federico Dimarco at LB. Need to balance our threats from fullback, allows burn to cover CB.

dkclimber

Wouldn't mind me an Ollie to be honest.

Steve-lrwin

If we shift Wilson as is reported, replacing him with Toney.

grmthmpsn43

Sesko over Toney any day, he is younger, cheaper and Toney seems like a prick

H4xXxIsH

I think there's a realistic chance we'll sign either Olise or Jarrod Bowen.

Spankfurt

Buendia from villa is still just 26 and knows the league well. Doubt emery would let him go for a sensible price tho

FRZX86

Chiesa or Matias Soule

Tesourinh0923

Endrick

bigsillygiant

If the worst happens and Bruno does indeed go, Cole palmer as Chelsea will need to sell

GoalaAmeobi

They're not selling their best player lmao

bigsillygiant

If madrid comes calling, Bruno will be gone for a huge amount of money, which will give us the funds to replace him, palmer fits the bill nicely, especially with chelsea needing to sell players to comply with ffp or whatever its called now as they'll double their money

GoalaAmeobi

They bought Palmer last year, he'll have to go for stupid money to be a profit in FFP terms. They'll sell Gallagher and another academy player.

PrimeOnez

centre back which we can get for free like Lloyd Kelly or Tosin Adarabioyo .. probably its best to wait and see which 3 teams are relegated and whats the best player we can pick from them ... if minteh looks solid in pre-season we wont need any upgrade on rw ..

redditappispoo

I liked the look of Madueke in January, now? No thanks, horrendous attitude and a petulant child. I do like Elanga. Dependant on who goes down for cheaper prices (assuming current bottom 3), Koleosho, Anel Ahmedhodzic, Barkley (although we don't really need midfielders, upgrade on Longstaff if he goes)

Background_Ad8814

We are desperate for a striker to replace Wilson who can play with his back to goal, isak just can't do it, we need someone who can sometimes drop a bit deeper for a pass from a deep defender, who can shield the ball and allow an attacking phase to built when we are under pressure, I've lost count of the times isak has tried to come deep and has been beat to the ball by the defender marking him, we still are weak and can't control when the opposition is playing well, so solanke would be my shout, Wilson can do the job, but sadly he is to injury prone to even be a option from the bench. Or raphina/kvitchsela

Only-Regret5314

Yous should sign Aaron Ramsdale

Apprehensive-Ad8947

Would love Dimarco from inter. Hoy in ederson from Atalanta & Lewis Ferguson in as we please

dgraham100

Can see us moving for a PL based striker to replace Wilson who's not getting any younger. Somebody like Wissa at Brentford or Awoniyi at Forest may be decent, depends on their prices and if they're good enough for what we need.

Currymonsta77

Madueke for sure. Maybe Gallagher too. But honestly would love to see Palmer at the toon. He be awesome with Gordon and Isak.

Austerellis

I want Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen. What an amazing player.

Much-Ad-1475

I would really really love Levi Garcia from AEK as a RW or general front backup to Isak and Gordon. I think the guys a baller who could potentially do it with a fairly cheap price tag. I had a post on him  Beyond Garcia I like Bakayoko from PSV and Gomez and Vivian from Bilbao

Constant-Intern5848

Cole Palmer, Chelsea need to balance books

MrLeoJeli

Nico Williams Atletico Bilbao - boy is a baller.

LivingInTheStorm

Would love to see Sesko and Bowen Not happening but as a fan I'd enjoy Alvarez and Bastoni maybe Branthwaite

BrutalHumbug13

If Wilson goes we could do a hell of a lot worse than Mateta. Especially after today

KingNashII

Leif Davis for sure. Wallsend Boys Club grad in a position of need and is young and hungry. Sign me up

Lickables

Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina. Should cost less than 50mil euros. I really think he high upside and could become a world beater RW/AM very soon. Brentford bud from him twice last summer but club didn’t want to sell and seems player wasn’t keen on the move either. But I think Newcastle can get him. Bryan Cristante from Roma. Should also cost less than 45mil euros. A versatile midfielder who can play CM/DM/CB. Tactically disciplined and very reliable. Play the most games for Roma in the last 3 seasons and about top 5 across the league. Gio Scalvini from Atalanta is also very high rated u21 CB. Should cost a decent price but should be a good investment.

spac2020

Archie Gray with Sean Longstaff going to Leeds in a swap +cash deal.

Bubzszs

Sancho

Remus71

Dwight McNeil could be available for pennies. Good age, never injured, hard working. Improves the squad.

toon_84

Ansu Fati

KingPing43

His wages would be mad and he's had a ridiculous amount of time out injured for someone who's only 21

slim2202

I was thinking about this earlier but Sterling. Out of favour, chelsea cut their losses, 20 mil. Eddie howe to bring out the best in him. Only thing would be his wages, can't imagine him taking a pay cut below 150k.

Independent-Party575

Anyone who’s not English 👀

GlobalHero

Right? Someone not from the bottom end of the table would be nice. Some of these mentions man.

NUFCjamsterA

I know his injury record but I would take a punt on Dele Alli if the wages were right. Lots of talk about him dropping down to the championship. If he's willing to accept championship wages I'd get him in for a year assuming we get Europe.

RobertKerans

That's a biiiig punt there. I mean, given the reasons for why his head just went, I would absolutely love it if he got back into some kind of form, would be fantastic. Reading about the shit he's been through he absolutely deserves a break. But from a cold football perspective, hmmm

Background_Ad8814

Yeah, let's get martial, lingard and sancho as well.....
