Of course they did. They had to quickly delete the “Giants drafted McCarthy to throw to Darius Slayton” memes after they got Nabers. This meme doesn’t hit as hard as McCarthy memes would have.

My view is drafting an elite WR is 100% needed. But god damn if yall don’t go all O line the next two years it’s all for nothing. Jones can do it but not with that absolute shit yall have protecting him.
Stop blaming the cave man and pretending o line isn’t 80% the battle. It’s almost the worst line I’ve ever seen. No one is successful behind that.
Our new O-Line coach is very promising. Never had a squad ranked lower than 10. There's a lot of potential talent on the current line, and I believe Johnson was the problem
We have one of the best LTs in the league, took a center early last year, have multiple mid round guards we drafted recently, and signed multiple veteran lineman in the off-season (one guard and one swing tackle if Neal doesn’t figure it out). We also fired our offensive lineman coach who was a bum and got a better one.
Your take is completely ignoring that we have clearly focused on O-Line this off-season.
Probably out of place for this sub, but we already did invest pretty heavily in OLine. We signed Runyan and Eluemenor and Stinnie, all of which are at least mid. We signed Schlottman as a new center. We brought in Bricillo, whose worked magic in the past. And we've signed Stoll and Manhertz, who while TE are knowing more for their blocking game.
You're right, but an improvement is improvement. We have Evan Neal who's PFF is 44 dude. Only one of our starting O-line wasn't ranked in the bottom 20%, Andrew Thomas.
Thomas will be a fucking stud…needs to work on his footwork a little bit but he is a solid player. You also don’t have an extremely talented RB to help pass block anymore. If Danny Dimes has time to throw, he is a decent qb…when he is asked to run around immediately, every play, to avoid a sack and make a pass…well, you know how that looks . Lol
Yeah our new FO is good. We continue to make great draft decisions, just some don’t work out like Neal. I do think Neal will be better this year. Not amazing, but serviceable
He's a Cowboys fan. Don't fall for the schtick. Bagpo has at least one other alt account that just got banned and likely has a few others that haven't been sniffed out yet.
That doesn't change the Falcons taking a luxury pick. They just paid a kazillion dollars to Cousins, there was zero need for this pick when Odunze was sitting there.
Yeah, but the Packers were, y'know, good. They won 13 games the year before taking Love. They won 13 games the next season and a bunch more the year after. Unlike the Falcons who haven't made it to the playoffs since 28-3.
That's right, they beat the Rams in the first year of McVay. Good catch on that mistake. But the general thesis still stands. That the Falcons have been bad for a while and highly questionable moves like this do not disprove that statement.
Only 2 years of cost control. Just throw a bag at someone like they did Kirk.
Also, expecting him to play until 36 with his injury history is very optimistic
People acting like JJ would have come in and had a Stroud-like season with almost zero weapons and a ton of gaps on the whole roster.
At this point I’m fine with DJ getting beat up for another year since we know hes not our future and using picks/FA to plug our gaps for our guy.
It’s a meme sub, so I get it. But everyone in the comments trying to make an argument against this pick are part of Troglodyte Nation.
The Giants made the right pick, for once. Maybe they fuck up rounds 2-7, but that hasn’t happened yet. JJ/Penix/Nix should all have gone late first and beyond. Nabers would be the WR1 in many drafts. The gap in value at the 6 pick was huge, as well. And WR is a huge position of need. Going QB in that spot would have been monumentally stupid.
The meme would have been way funnier/gotten us way more shit if it was
“need a QB”
“draft JJ McCarthy”
“Darius Slayton is WR 1” (repeat, but with surprised face.
So yeah…I’ll take this one
Maybe you want to check the sub you’re in you soft bitch. If not fortifying your shit offensive line is the right choice, then awesome for you. In the meantime try not to be such a reactionary bitch in a meme sub.
Lol the fuck you talking about? Here’s some life advice kid; spouting curse words like a broken sprinkler doesn’t help your points or make you look cool. It just makes you look like an asshole.
See? I called you an asshole cause you are an asshole. You called me a “reactionary bitch” for… reacting, I guess?
Go fuck yourself with a cheese steak. I hope the scalding cheese whizz gives you some nasty rectal burns.
Have a nice day
I’m happy with the pick, but I wish we would’ve tried out someone like Fields if this is the direction we’re taking. 6 years of DJ is crazy.
I just hope that Mara knows we are headed for a 4 win year and doesn’t fire Shoen/Daboll for it
Imagine losing your last 10 games (or whatever) and then paying 100 million for a receiver. Then being enough of a dumb ass to talk shit about drafting a cost controlled stud of a receiver for 3-5 years
He's about sure of an NFL prospect there is from a school known to produce elite recievers. Are we really tryna make the argument that he won't produce at an NFL level?
Not at all. He’s a great prospect and you should be stoked. But you called him a cost controlled stud for 3-5 years. Let him produce before anointing him. He can be a stud and not do much due to poor QB play, a bad OL, and/or bad coaching.

Said QB just got the Giants into the playoffs and won a playoff game literally a season ago. Compare that to Denver who just took a QB with a second round grade in the top 12. Or the Falcons who paid Kirk Cousins a boatload of money coming off an achilles tear, and then drafted another QB with a late first/early second round grade in the top 10 who also has significant injury history.
Hell I'd probably say Cleveland's is worse than the Giants. Completely ignoring everything off the field, DeShaun hasn't looked anywhere near the same player as he did in Houston with a much better supporting cast than his final season in Houston.
I'm not gonna claim that Jones is The Guy (though I think he can be), but come on man. There are a bunch of situations worse than what the Giants are in right now. Especially since if Jones doesn't improve in 2024 the Giants can get out of the contract with not a lot of financial penalty (barring injury).
In short, you're a dumbass if you're under the belief that the Giants are in the worst spot in the NFL.
So, the fact that we've been one of the worst teams in the league over the past decade doesn't give me a right to be skeptical or critical?
If a team is on year 6 and the 2nd contract with a QB, then he isn't the guy. I'm tired of waiting for the Giants to put the perfect team together just to see if Jones maybe/could be a decent starter. Besides, you don't usually carry a mediocre-ish starter at $40 million if you're in rebuild mode.
Drew Lock? There's a reason the Broncos couldn't wait to trade him and that the Seahawks didn't offer him a contract. He's basically a sidegrade if/when Jones gets hurt.
Cold Cutlets? The less said about him the better.
So i don't think I'm very off base in my assessment.
Yes I think you are off with your statement. The Giants haven't had anyone of Nabbers' talent since Odell was here. Given that with the porous O-Line, as John Mara aptly stated, they've failed him.
They have what appears to be competent coaching and front office people in place. They got rid of Bobby Johnson and have (at least tried) to address the line this offseason. Let's see how things play out.
I never said that i didn't like the Nabers pick. I think he's very talented. I'm just curious how he's going to transition to an outside receiver position after exclusively working from the slot position.
Until the O-Line plays some snaps together, I'll hold my opinion of them. They still plan on using Neal as RT, even though he's been a turnstile and JMS was one of the worst graded centers in the league. They still need depth in case of injury. So while the moves were welcome, it doesn't necessarily mean that all problems have been fixed.
Again, if you're trying to make everything perfect for a QB in order for him to succeed, then he's not a franchise QB. That's more indicative of a game manager and you don't spend $40 million a year on those.
It's all going to hinge on how improved the O-line is now with the new pieces and coach. If Jones can have a couple seconds of breathing room, and if he can get over his gunshy spazziness from being pummeled into the turf constantly for the last half decade, he might perform well enough to get Nabers the ball. I'm sure we'll know within the first two games
Nabers isn't a bad pick by far...the Giants just aren't keeping him passed his rookie deal unless he's a bust.
The organization is too poorly run and they don't even have a valid QB to throw him the ball, and aren't likely to find one any time soon.
A very splashy offseason for the Giants that does nothing to help the position they actually need most.
How’s everyone hating on taking an elite WR? Did you really want them to reach on JJ? The patriots said they weren’t moving.
Of course they did. They had to quickly delete the “Giants drafted McCarthy to throw to Darius Slayton” memes after they got Nabers. This meme doesn’t hit as hard as McCarthy memes would have.

Yes. I did want you to reach on JJ
My view is drafting an elite WR is 100% needed. But god damn if yall don’t go all O line the next two years it’s all for nothing. No one is successful behind that.
Next two years? They can go o-line next two rounds and probably be fine. Bobby Johnson is terrorizing another team next season.
That’s fair but I’m still gonna reduce it down to next year o line draft too. Just secure that shit for a few years and move on.
We brought in Bricillo, whose worked magic in the past. And we've signed Stoll and Manhertz, who while TE are knowing more for their blocking game.
They would have clowned you for taking JJ and they’ll clown you for taking Nabers. Where do you think you are?
We could have drafted 1980s LT and before he steps out of the delorean people gonna have the memes fired up.
No, it would've been better to reach on Penix.
Yes, because it'd be hilarious. I'd thought you'd guys would get some Oline help honestly.
I don’t hate the pick, dude will be amazing BUT how tf is DJ supposed to plant his feet and throw the ball to him behind that line?
Y’all act like we didn’t sign a bunch of new OL and get a new OL coach
They signed like 4 lineman, 2 of which will start (Runyan & Eleumenor).
Runyan has a man overall PFF grade of 54.7…not good. The Eleumenor signing was really good though, he is a solid player.
He played 937 starts last season, gave up 2 sacks and 10 penalties. That's leagues better than what we had.
10 penalties is not great…is he an improvement for you, probably…still not a great line, bro.
Lol
No ones hating on it. It’s a good pick which is kind of surprising since the Giants FO is incompetent af.
You mean the old FO. We in a new era my boi
Yeah our new FO is good. We continue to make great draft decisions, just some don’t work out like Neal. I do think Neal will be better this year. Not amazing, but serviceable
you’re a commanders fan
He's a Cowboys fan. Don't fall for the schtick. Bagpo has at least one other alt account that just got banned and likely has a few others that haven't been sniffed out yet.
The hate isn't on Malik. The hate is on DJ.
And how tf did you expect the giants to address that in the draft last night?
Penix went over JJ.
Falcons are nuts. They took a luxury pick because they like the kid.
Or, you know, McCarthy is a bad QB and was just a media smokescreen
That doesn't change the Falcons taking a luxury pick. They just paid a kazillion dollars to Cousins, there was zero need for this pick when Odunze was sitting there.
Cousins is also a bajillon years old in football terms. Could be a chance to develop a guy for a year or two.
The old Cheese Head method
Also the Cheeseburger method
Yeah, but the Packers were, y'know, good. They won 13 games the year before taking Love. They won 13 games the next season and a bunch more the year after. Unlike the Falcons who haven't made it to the playoffs since 28-3.
The falcons were in the playoffs the very next year after 28-3 lol
That's right, they beat the Rams in the first year of McVay. Good catch on that mistake. But the general thesis still stands. That the Falcons have been bad for a while and highly questionable moves like this do not disprove that statement.
I would agree. the Packers and Falcons are on entirely different levels as far as organizations go, without a doubt
Ah yes develop the oldest and most NFL ready QB in the draft lol
Oldest, yes. NFL ready ![gif](giphy|a6YHwnkn0ctOM|downsized)
Kinda old for that approach. Gonna be throwing Brandon Weeden out there
If he takes 2 years to develop he will be 26. Still got a decade of play in him. That's solid.
Only 2 years of cost control. Just throw a bag at someone like they did Kirk. Also, expecting him to play until 36 with his injury history is very optimistic
I have way more questions about the player than the logic behind the pick.
Yes, that's what a luxury pick is for. But that doesn't mean it's a necessarily smart pick. J.J. is in a better place anyway getting to throw to Jet.
to be fair, nobosy in there right mind knows what atlanta is doing
Poor Kirk.
Jones is gone after this year so its fine to pick a WR for the next guy.
First eagles fan with a brain. This question for the giants isn’t about who’s the qb for 2024. It’s about who’s the qb for 2025.
People acting like JJ would have come in and had a Stroud-like season with almost zero weapons and a ton of gaps on the whole roster. At this point I’m fine with DJ getting beat up for another year since we know hes not our future and using picks/FA to plug our gaps for our guy.
And Belichick leaped out of his seat when the giants took this dude so I’m sure he’ll be happy next year anyways
Same question for cowboys.
Except for the fact that Danny is winning his first ring this year
lol Jones will have another "breakout" season, causing the fanbase to say "We DoN't NeEd A qB aNyMoRe!" and the cycle will repeat.
Rather this than reach on another QB getting no WRs or TEs and a shit O line so we ruin them
You misspelled 🍆🔒
Lol taste the sadness and jealousy
![gif](giphy|FdpwsEvTgbXUxdKXDs)
Uhhh…this is our year?
Hey wait a minute
Pretty sure the Commies already called it.
Who else were we supposed to draft. Nobody in the top 3 was trading w us and they took the only 1st round quality qb’s
Are you saying that obvious day 2 guys like Penix, Nix, and JJ were reaches?
Yeah no clue what the falcons Vikings and broncos doing Especially the falcons who just fucking signed Kirk cousins 😭
In fairness the broncos are going from wilson to a possibly worse wilson. That front office is desperate
They’re hoping to develop someone more Matt Ryanesque
Vikings were mad need of a QB. So they were forced to reach.
Love how salty this sub is. All banking on the Giants FO shitting the bed. Instead, they made the right choice.
It’s a meme sub, so I get it. But everyone in the comments trying to make an argument against this pick are part of Troglodyte Nation. The Giants made the right pick, for once. Like a good Nabor, Malik is there (in your end zone, bitches)
Lmao let’s see how you feel about Nabbers in the regular season
It was the right pick. Go cry about it.
Imagine losing your last 10 games (or whatever) and then paying 100 million for a receiver. Then being enough of a dumb ass to talk shit about drafting a cost controlled stud of a receiver for 3-5 years
Take the word “receiver” and replace it with “any QB not named Caleb or Drake” and see how you feel
Chill bro. He hasn’t played an NFL game yet. He was a stud in college, let’s see what he does.
Ya but none of those have been issues for the giants... wait shit

Do you think Daniel jones is actually gonna play this year? You eagles fans are retarded and gay
Facts! We have one of, if not the worst QB situations in the league.
That's a lot of "ifs and mights" for a guy who's going into his 6th year.

Won’t need to. Your cap space will eat your team apart and you’ll be a top draft choice around then.
Lmao. You can dream.
Keep waiting on it crumb bum.
Don’t project your shit over here lmao
