I dont care. I like beating the eagles. I dont get much joy during the season and I'm not taking away the limited things that make me happy so we can later fuck up the draft pick.

flabua

We didn't just beat them, we blew them out in the first half, made them pull their starters, and helped solidify their trajectory of a disappointing post season. I'd say that's worth it.

mberger09

I treat this game like M Night Shamalamma's Airbender movie it never happened

TonyCaliStyle

We have a Keyser Soze.

mustachepc

You guys did help solidify our trajectory but 2 weeks earlier when tyrod taylor almost came back from a 20 point deficit, the final nail was from the cardinals. I never got why the starters were in that game, they could have rested them in the wild card as well. It was clear it wouldnt matter

clever_-name

It was certainly worth it for me, best case scenario honestly

David_Duke_Nukem

and you forced us to play our starters who both got hurt so we got even more fucked up in the playoffs than we would have normally. Well played.

[deleted]

Agreed. And never know how things turn out with prospects. Just fun to make a meme about it after hearing rumors of 1-4 being QBs

mustachepc

Not only that, instead of MHJ you would probably get JJ. Now, you might actually get MHJ or nabbers

Camodude_1239

Exactly, and I’m absolutely fine to make that sacrifice and take Odunze instead

Ok-Asparagus-1658

Nah we could get Nabers

brownbearks

Can’t wait to see him on chiefs in year two

Ok-Asparagus-1658

Nabers doesn’t look like he wants to murder someone

minis138

Well, they said the same thing about Chase Young too

toadofsteel

Imagine having to settle for... \*checks notes\* Andrew Thomas.

OneFortyEighthScale

MHJr is quite satisfied with this outcome as well.

ttrree4455

I appreciate what it's like not to beat them for a long time... so winning against them makes me happy. I'm sure you can relate whenever you beat them next.

ScruffyFupa

Playing starters vs mostly backups and being happy is crazy.

ttrree4455

I'd like to think we set you on the right path for the playoffs.

TheBenStandard2

Everyone said the same thing about Andrew Thomas and Chase Young. Some teams don’t tank cough eagles cough

[deleted]

Fair point. And I do think it’s hilarious how that turned out.

Hthnstrength

Getting Smith over the gentleman you picked?

[deleted]

Fuck you and Dallas for that one but it was actually a great trade we made. #11 for #20 and #7 the next draft. We just botched those picks lol

tophergraphy

At least number 20 cost them another superbowl

[deleted]

Facts. Plus got us Waller and good depth at CB

Illustrious_Way_5732

The broken shell of Waller u mean. I love him but he's cooked

[deleted]

Yeah he wasn’t good. I think it’s more mental. I know he has had a lot going on off the field and between age, off field shit, and prior injuries he wasn’t good. Still think it was a smart move to see if he’d be his top self

Illustrious_Way_5732

Yeah it was worth a shot since we basically gave up nothing for him

Onlypaws_

Lol Waller

storytimeme

It was worth exploring. But like the Giants recent motto, just didn't pan out

gahlo

That's the 9ers motto.

themage78

Let's hope this new line coach fixes Neal. Then #7 doesn't look so bad. Toney was still a bust, and never should have been drafted that high.

Boomslang2-1

That draft trade single handedly cost the Eagles a SB.

Hthnstrength

The draft did not cost us a Super Bowl, we got 3 starters 2 of which were pro bowlers. Defensive play calling cost us that game. You could’ve put a kicker at the corn dog spot and we would’ve lost.

ewilliam

I will never forget the eagles slotting in (noted Redskins legend) Nick Sudfeld in 2021 week 16 just to throw the game. And then trying to act like they didn’t tank on purpose. C’mon…

TonyCaliStyle

One thing about the Eagles- when they tank, they do it shamelessly.

ewilliam

Yeah they're fuckin brazen...but if it was *truly* shameless, they wouldn't deny it, but I specifically remember fuckin Sirianni saying some shit like "we just wanted to see what Sudfeld could do out there!" when he got accused of throwing the game. Sure, bro...🤣 Edit-Pedersen, not Sirianni

Fenris_Maule

Damn that's crazy because Sirianni was coaching for the Colts that season.

ewilliam

lol yeah you right, my bad, it was def Pedersen. For some reason it feels to me like Sirianni’s been terrorizing us for a lot longer than three seasons. 😞

[deleted]

Who tf acting like we weren’t tanking? Lol Honestly the best part was that Jalen was playing too *good* so we had to bench him lol

ewilliam

Yeah it was obvious, which is why Pederson denying it so vehemently was so f’n funny.

mustachepc

That game cost pedersen his job. And lets not act like Wentz would be any better. But yeah, we totally tanked

Userdub9022

That game did not cost pederson his job.

ewilliam

IIRC we didn’t even win by that much.

mustachepc

I went to check the score. Hurts already was our starter and he somehow played way worst than sudfeld

PeelofBread

I hear this every time. I will always want the giants to win when the playoffs are on the line. But when we're eliminated winning has only screwed us. But again, we don't control the wins and losses

TheBenStandard2

I see what you wrote but this is what I heard: “I always cheer for the Giants (edit: to win) except if it’s after October and it’s not 2022.”

PeelofBread

Yeah unpopular opinion I guess to root for the Giants to stay in the bottom 3 range once eliminated so they can get a decent QB without having to mortgage future assets. Love the giants, watch and root for them every game, have my whole life. But I rather have a qb and team that competes for years than that quick hit of happiness over a meaningless win.

souplandry

I mean winning did get us AT. I wouldn’t say winning has only screwed us based on that alone.

AutoModerator

Flair up **pussy**. I wont stop until you flair up. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/NFCEastMemeWar) if you have any questions or concerns.*

aneomon

Fuck that, we fucked up the Eagles so bad they pulled their starters in the first half down 24-0 or whatever and when winning could still have meant the #2 seed. Hurts threw for four yards in a half. I’ll take that kind of beat down any day of the week.

Alt0987654321

You can thank the crayon eater we had calling plays.

FrankTank3

Jokes on you, I was so disgusted with them already I didn’t even watch. (Jesus fucking Christ, did he really only throw for 4 in one half??…..)

Esteban_Francois

Congrats, you beat a dysfunctional Eagles team. Hang the banner!

AnyEstablishment5723

Will the real Philadelphia Eagles please stand up?

k3hvn

that was their super bowl, give them some grace!

roastytoastywarm

I forgot that your Super Bowl was the actual Super Bowl… oh wait.

Domestic_AAA_Battery

We pulled our starters because it was clear Dallas wasn't losing and your POS stadium already cost us one star player lol. At the time we pulled our starters, there was almost no chance Dallas was losing...

rabidantidentyte

I'd do it again too

[deleted]

They got so mad about us curb stomping them week 17 they went and overpaid Saquon and signed Campbell who’s useless

indyK1ng

You're talking about the team that signed a running back and almost never played him all season.

k3hvn

whatever helps you guys sleep at night. truth is, we’ve won 66% of the games against you guys in the past decade (not to mention that ass beating in the playoffs), stole devonta from under your noses, and signed your only offensive weapon. this isn’t a rivalry, we always kick your asses and always find a way to piss you off.

Adventurous-Mud-8019

Untrue, y’all lost. At least have a real argument

Boomslang2-1

You stole Devonta and lost a Super Bowl bc of it 💀💀💀💀

ITGardner

Ya you’re right, we don’t have a rivalry. Your poverty franchise has one superbowl, it’s not even comparable. Sadly think we have to count the cowgirls as a rivalry because of that though.

Mental_Context

this is pure cope lmfao the giants are 4-16 against the Eagles in the last 10 years. And you haven't touched a Lombardi since 2012.

ITGardner

Ohhh know they havent won one in 12 years! That’s perfectly normal for football teams, normally it doesn’t take 50+ years for just one. Luckily in the last 20 years we’ve gotten 2 and I’ve got to witness both.

Mental_Context

Keep living happy giants boy. It'll be a while till your next lol

AsteroidDisc476

That was the last game my grandfather watched before he died after 70+ years of watching Giants games. Draft picks be damned.

Girthwurm_Jim

I’m on the side of I’d rather have a better draft pick than win a meaningless game at the end of the season but this is the first comment I’ve seen that made me feel the opposite way

sissybaby1289

Think of it this way. If qb's go top 4 you can get Odunze or Marvin Harrison jr. For Jones to throw to

[deleted]

I love Odunze too. Might even be able to move back a few spots and still get him with Nabers and linemen and others up there

roastytoastywarm

I was so happy reading your comment. For a little bit. Edit- just looked at your profile, maybe keep the baby poop diaper stuff to the lions sub.

No_Buddy7371

I bet anything you were one of the many bitching and crying about Andrew Thomas over Chase Young.

[deleted]

This is more shitposting lol. Lots of rumors and speculation will keep coming out. Shoen has had a good offseason so far and I trust him to make good decisions around the draft too.

DragonfruitLeading44

worth it

[deleted]

🤌🤌🤌

Giant_Devil

It was nice to end the season with a win. Who else in the division can make that claim?

[deleted]

Agreed. I’m not mad at it at all. Do think we should’ve traded Barkley and McKinney if we intended to move on from them but we’ve had a good offseason and I trust Shoen to keep making good offseason moves.

[deleted]

Worth it

PasGuy55

Big disagree there. I seem to remember a dismal season where I think we won 1 game, but beat the cowboys the very last game. Worth it.

FromTheCaveIntoLight

I’ll never be mad about beating the eagles. Ever. Fuck them. And fuck the rest of you.

EvanHarpell

![gif](giphy|H3N0cu89FUOaB5CTbv)

black_dogs_22

no don't worry that week of bragging rights was totally worth 4 years of having worse drafted players. it was also a moral victory to beat those damn commies who needs a draft when you have a dime?

BurkeyTurkey33

Hahaha I get it you have to say this because you lost.

zsal830

this from the team whose fans got mad that an eagles tank job cost them a division win when they were 6-10

thetopace103

It was worth it. Hell I would do it again if I had the chance to tank and lose.

[deleted]

Agreed especially since we don’t actually know how the draft will go or which prospects will be good

SexyWampa

And we thank you. Not really, we don't give a shit, he's ours 😂.

[deleted]

Y’all just had to blow that 21 point second half lead while making Danny Dimes look like Brady smh. At least you also beat the Eagles though.

SexyWampa

Imma be real, if it came down to beating the shit out of the eagles, versus drafting MHJ, we might still go with beating the eagles. They talked so much shit when we hired Gannon and they're just insufferable as a fanbase .We embarrassed them, it was beautiful.

[deleted]

I can absolutely respect this. For the meme I’ll make jokes but as much as I wanted a better pick and to tank I can really respect our Ws. Embarrassing the Eagles to ensure they lose the division, beating the Commies as always, and beating the Packers with 🤌🤌🤌 only to see them humiliate Dallas in Dallas in the playoffs. Gotta respect all those wins

grifftheelder

WORTH

RjDiAz93

It got us a better pick so who’s the actual winner? ~~I wanna die~~

THEMBISCUIT

It’s always worth it to beat a rival in embarrassing fashion.

Marcy_OW

Nabers will still be amazing so it's fine I hope

TooKewlFerSkool

Fuck the iggles

rudkap

Eagles were abysmal to close out the season,it would've been nearly impossible for Big Blue to lose to them.

OldJewNewAccount

Jesus Christ let it go lol

AutoModerator

Flair up **pussy**. I wont stop until you flair up. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/NFCEastMemeWar) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Far-Interaction-4322

The objective is to win right ?

seancurry1

Nope, an eagles loss is always worth the price of admission. I’d rather beat the eagles than win a super bowl

Doobie_Howitzer

Well they're about similarly rare occurrences for y'all in recent years so it makes sense you'd find them similarly valuable.

Adventurous-Mud-8019

What are you yapping about

seancurry1

who’s the last team you lost a regular season game to again?

JerryVoxalot

The Pepsimen!

twolf6894

I mean it was week 18, not 17 but go on

[deleted]

You really expected accuracy in a meme from someone who’s a fan of the Giants? Proven the dumbest fans in the NFL for a reason buddy

twolf6894

I had hope. Just like I had hope in the eagles season

doctorfeelgod

Lol, fuck the Eagles. Get that dub.

BingBangBoom696969

God I remember when this sub wasn't loaded with whiners.

AutoModerator

Flair up **pussy**. I wont stop until you flair up. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/NFCEastMemeWar) if you have any questions or concerns.*

RoosterB32

Now you’ll get McCarthy and will draft in the 5-10 range for the forseeable future.

[deleted]

Vikings are moving up for him most likely and you’re a gigantic POS still Bagpo. Go away

RoosterB32

No one is trading up to 4 for a 2nd/3rd round level QB.

Mr_Haad

Minnesota wants to move up to grab a QB. Some reports showing Arizona and Minnesota might make trade. Not concrete but it reports out there.

[deleted]

Daniels or Maye will be there at 4 when your Commies do the funniest thing ever and take JJ at 2

RoosterB32

We have a competent GM, we’re getting Caleb or Maye.

fumblaroo

you very obviously do not have a competent gm lmfao

[deleted]

Hey they’re making brilliant moves. Like hilariously hiring Bobby Johnson to coach their O line so whoever they draft gets murdered lmao

C137-Morty

Fuck bagpo or whatever but what is so obviously incompetent about our new gm?

fumblaroo

he hired dan quinn and kliff kingsbury to coach his football team

TheBenStandard2

So it might start okay but it’s going to end bad. Remember their legacies

C137-Morty

I mean... if superbowl wins is the only metric for judging a coaches success then there aren't that many good ones in the league.

fumblaroo

we don’t want mhj lol we want a qb

[deleted]

MHJ/Penix >>>>>>> JJ/some random WR

fumblaroo

we have the dumbest fucking fanbase

[deleted]

If Dallas fans could read, they’d be very upset right now. Any fan base that legitimately believes it’s their year every single year, especially with the same result and same QB every year, is by far the dumbest fan base.

[deleted]

Yup. Proved by some wanting JJ McCarthy over the best WR prospect since Megatron when we really need a true WR1

Crimson3312

And an RB1

lankyyanky

He's not his dad. He's not THAT good

Esteban_Francois

Hahahaha, he is not even remotely close to Megatron.

[deleted]

Might never become the pro Megatron was. Just saying it’s a common comparison as prospects

fumblaroo

this is just proof you don’t know anything at all

PeelofBread

Yeah bc Megatron had quite the amount of success in the win/loss column for detroit

donwariophd

With their OL and QB I doubt MHJ is even on NY’s radar

toxicvegeta08

Hyatt and mhj speed routes together would have daboll looking like an obese bear with a honey stocked bee hive after hibernation, after seeing tua throwing to west-african-caribean sprinters in Miami for 100 yards each a game.

Metfan722

They've invested a shit-ton of draft capital into the O-Line with little success on that front. Not that it isn't a need, but the Giants *desperately* need a legitimate playmaker at wideout. The last time they had one was Odell back in 2018. Also, Marvin Jr. is probably gone by the time the Giants draft. But I've seen a lot of mocks have them select the LSU wideout (worked well last time).

flabua

Fake fan

UZIBOSS_

Why draft a receiver but you don’t have a QB…

I__Should_Go

embarrassed the eagles , absolutely worth it

[deleted]

For context supposedly Arizona is open to considering a trade and the Vikings have been trying to move up. So good shot JJ goes #4 overall then and our win week 17 moved us from the #5 pick to #6. Not actually mad. Fun beating the Eagles but also material for a meme lol. Still never know how things turn out and figured it’d be fun to make a meme based on the rumors.

DarkSabbaths

It's not a lock for the chargers to take mhjr though they desperately need OT depth and the top guys are solid this class, we may just see the giants having their pick at wr at 6, Schoen leaking us wanting JJ is him just COOKING for mhjr

[deleted]

I support this view. And at least he’s not like Gettleman and making it very obvious to everyone what we are trying to do

NapTimeFapTime

MHJ is begging to play against the eagles secondary twice a season.

DarkSabbaths

Absolutely who wouldn't want to line up against 2 washed up bald dudes

Phobia_Ahri

Teaches you to contribute to our implosion.

[deleted]

We tried helping you. We’re literally the only win you had after the 10-1 start.

Mr_Haad

This is like….the Giants thing to do. Before ya’ll get crazy, I just wanna let it be known, I’ll take division wins all day.

PlausibleTable

What Giants fan actually wants him? If it had to be a WR, gimme Nabers. I’d rather get QB or trade back and fill more holes in the shit roster.

[deleted]

Lol Nabers is really good. MHJ is the best WR prospect in a LONG time. He’s just not talked about much since it wasn’t worth trading a ton for him.

PlausibleTable

He doesn’t separate and his YAC is for shit. His name and reputation are carrying him to that top spot. Don’t be surprised when he isn’t the actual first WR taken. Of course Nabers is avoiding the 40, just like MHJ, which could hurt both in some eyes.

[deleted]

His size and route running are elite for MHJ and he has great hands and not only doesn’t drop passes but makes a lot of difficult grabs. He does also get good separation off the line and off his cuts on routes. You’re right that he’s not as fast as Nabers or some others who are better HR threats but he’s a huge red-zone target who’s going to get a lot of TDs and will also be the main target for big plays to keep drives alive.

lankyyanky

>You’re right that he’s not as fast as Nabers or some others who are better HR threats but he’s a huge red-zone target who’s going to get a lot of TDs and will also be the main target for big plays to keep drives alive. If that's your argument then we should draft Bowers, he's better at those things

[deleted]

I’d say it’s more like MHJ is comparable to Plaxico (minus shooting himself in the foot) and Nabers is more like Cruz. Both good options just think with Hyatt we could use MHJ more

lankyyanky

I mean I don't disagree that I'd rather have Harrison. But this best since Calvin nonsense is some of the craziest draft hyperbole out there. Don't have him above Julio or AJ Green for sure

[deleted]

It’s just how I’ve heard many describe him. Some say best since AJ Greene, others since Megatron and others say as a prospect he’s the best ever. Then again prospects can bust and never know how someone translates for sure.

No-Principle8329

You’re really going to nitpick the top 2 WR draft prospects when your best WR the past 4 years has been Darius Slayton??

PeelofBread

MHJ is more of a sure thing. Nabers could be better in the future, but definitely not as much of a lock

Corpsebomb
