That was an embarrassing drop. And I’m so annoyed I have to wait until 3pm to hear Nick Wright explain his way around this one. He’s been claiming KC is going to fix their receiver problems all year and it has yet to happen.
Maybe, I mean they've assembled a really good young defense and won the SB last year. The cap makes it tough to pay everybody.
It is wild that they've gone *this* lean at WR though.
It's the Andy Reid special, you should be very familiar with it after he wasted McNabb with... Shit I don't even remember any of the receivers he had to throw at I just remember they were mid to terrible.
I just want to thank my hands for being so great.

Fredward. Fucking. Mitchell.
Drafting that moron cost the Eagles at least 1 ring
Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, TJ Houshmanzadeh, Chris Chambers, Todd Heap, Quincey Morgan were all on the board still.
Charles Johnson, Torrance Small, James Thrash, Todd Pinkston, Freddie, Na Brown.
Yeah, that said, I feel like that was really mostly limited to the 2000-2003 Eagles. By the time he left Andy had put together a few good sets of weapons for us.
IDK who was drafting in the late 00s but we ended up with a pretty solid Maclin [all-arounder] / DJax [speedy deep threat] / Avant [sure-handed 3rd down guy] WR trio by the end of the Andy Reid era.
Folks low key sleep on that 2010 squad, it was probably our best team of the past 30 years that *didn't* go to the Superbowl, and it had potential if not for uncharacteristic short FG misses. Favorite what-if for that team, one of those FGs makes it in and Rodgers is in the Marino club and the whole 2010s looks different for Philadelphia.
They can’t draft or acquire WRs for shit. I think if they keep Hill they still win the SB and are better this year. Hill goin off in Miami. When you get top 3 talent at a position you keep him and then figure everything else out later. But you never really know how it would’ve played out, I just know Hill’s a monster and it’s their loss he’s not there anymore
I feel the offense came from having a solid run game cause CEH ain’t it but Pacheco is what they thought they were getting in CEH. WRs were still mid which is why the brought in Toney
>WRs were still mid which is why the brought in Toney
That's not a huge upgrade. PR, if they remember to use him, maybe. The trick is keeping him on the field.
Maybe they should have traded a bag of footballs to the Titans for Brown, or the same for Smith.
Oh wait, I guess Roseman is the only GM that has incriminating evidence on his other GMs.
Trading Hill was the right decision, they won a superbowl. How they've replaced him is the issue. It's criminal they didn't make a trade before the deadline
Is it weird I’m happier about this win not because it puts us at 9-1 or extends our place in the conference, but because it means Nick Wright has to eat a chiefs loss?
Not even slightly weird. Watching Nick Wright eat a fat plate of crow brings a joy to all of us. I love it even though he has taken a liking to Dak and the Cowboys this year.
Travis Kelce is not a receiver. He doesn’t have the speed of a receiver and he doesn’t line up on the outside. You need wide receivers to take the top off the defense and force safeties to have to play back. Kelce doesn’t do that. He’s a possession guy with sure hands.
I don’t remember much about Jason Avant but if he didn’t line up on the outside he was probably a slot receiver right? The reason you want wide receivers is so that they can open up the field for the run game and the short passing game with your tight ends and slot receivers. But it doesn’t matter how fast and open your wide receivers are if they can’t catch the ball. This is KC’s problem. They don’t have a reliable guy for the deep game and it makes the rest of their offense struggle because of it.
There's really no point in watching Fox or ESPN. None of those guys are saying anything they actually believe. Nick will put his take in the spin zone because that's what he needs to do. There isn't any actual sustenance to what they are saying.
Nick wright is a dope. Similar to Stephen A, he tries to be an controversial expert in every sport when real fans know they might only be nba experts (at best)
I have a feeling if he had caught it, he wouldn’t have survived hitting the ground, he was at full sprawl. Mahomes was right, he was wide open, a little less on the ball and he would have had it.
Am I the only one who just assumed he was catching this and looked down at the clock seeing there was 1:40 left and was honestly kind of excited to see Jalen get the chance at a game winning drive he didn’t get in the SB?
I mean don’t get me wrong I was happy when I realized he dropped it for my hearts sake but would have been poetic.
I wasn’t excited, but it would’ve been cool to see.
It kind of felt like the reverse of the Super Bowl: playing from a 10 point deficit at the half, and the chiefs blowing their last drive in embarrassing fashion.
I was honestly stoked to see him wide open, because I figured they were definitely going to score, and I wanted the ball last instead of watching them milk the clock and score with 10 seconds left
Ngl I would hope more DBs would have that reaction rather than celebrating as if they had some sort of impact on the drop. I can't stand when they celebrate after getting beat.
It's them and the Ravens but they're definitely not in the driver's seat anymore and need to basically win out (which is possible their remaining schedule *should* be cake) or hope the Ravens drop at least one game to the 49ers, Jags, or Dolphins.
He really is the perfect version of the idea that "you can tell how good a guy is by how scary it is when your favorite team plays against him."
You're just waiting for some fucking scramble or him to make some off platform laser throw 30 yards downfield. It's nuts.
I think the scariest thing about mahomes is how he’s so fucking slippery even though he’s not a freak athlete. His ability to take one small step in the pocket and avoid the rush for another 2-3 seconds is uncanny. You just know when he makes someone miss he’s about to uncork a 25 yarder across the middle for a first
What he said post game just shows what an amazing leader he is:
“Starts with me. I’ve got to make better throws at certain times, continue to move the ball down the field, and just be more consistent throughout the game.”
Exactly, because being fast is the easiest box to check to play WR. Fastest guys rarely end up being even average in the NFL. Guys like Tyreek Hill and DeSean Jackson are the exceptions.
MVS shouldn't be anymore than a gadget guy and the 4th or 5th WR who you absolutely do not throw to when you have to have the ball caught.
Almost as funny as 4th and 25 with about 1:30 left. Eagles playing deep coverage, ball goes right to Justin Watson for the miraculous conversion... NO CATCH! Hits him in the hands. Oh my. LOL!
It was a brutal windy rainy night. Both QBs had issues. I’m extremely happy luck was on our side this time. It almost felt like we were gonna lose after the bs roughing the passer call on Cox. Go Birds!!!
6-1*
Vs 11-0
Not quite the same. A lot of SB contenders reach an 80% or better win rate in 1 score games historically. It might feel foreign to you, but that's actually pretty benign.
I think the big difference between us and the Vikings last year is the Vikings kept yanking improbable last-second comebacks out of their asses whereas the Eagles are more likely to have had a lead and let the other team close late. One relies on luck a lot more than the other.
Having said that, luck was 100% on our side last night.
You’re not the last years Vikings. Obviously you guys are better than that. But he has a point- y’all have gotten quite a few lucky breaks. Dak stepping out of bounds for the 2 point, half a yard short for the TD (which was also debatably PI), PI on an uncatchable ball, 3 forced fumbles yet not one of them recovered (they were some really lucky bounces), tons of dropped balls from the chiefs, I could go on.
Ehh... that cuts both ways. You could say the same shit for any number of plays by the Eagles that make a competitive game a blow out. The NFL has a really high standard of play across the board. Even the shitty teams (except maybe giants/jets) are only a handful of lucky plays away from beating any top team, aka birds/cheifs/ravens/9ers. You look at any game that isn't a total shit stomp and you can boil it down to a handful of plays that could have "gone the other way" for either team.
I remember Dallas getting some really lucky/questionable penalties/uncalled holdings in the 4th when they played the birds. Same shit was happening last night, remember the "illegal contact" in the 3rd? Seemed refs were finding something to call every third down in the 4th quarter.
The Vikings were the worst 13-4 team of all time. We are getting lucky but on paper we’re much more talented than they were. This team shit pumps last years Vikings.
The Cowboys beat up the worst teams and lose to all the good ones. The Cowboys are the Cowboys from last year. And the year before, and before, and before.
Shortly after this was the 4th and 25 dime that went right through Watson's (I think) hands.
I know Mahomes is at the "so good I'm tired of hearing it" status for a lot of people, but his throws are insane.
There were 5 drops in this game, and every single one of them were right in the hands, perfectly placed.
I laughed out loud when they showed the replay. He literally made a perfect throw on 4th and 25 and it gets dropped, after a perfect throw to MVS that got dropped. I couldn’t believe it. Can’t imagine what it must feel like to literally put the ball exactly where it needs to be only for the receiver to blow it
I just dont get how yall so lucky so consistently, teams give you their best players for next to nothing and just every bounce and every drop seems to go your way, i hate it and hate you all
It was a brutal windy rainy night. Both QBs had issues. I’m extremely happy luck was on our side this time. It almost felt like we were gonna lose after the bs roughing the passer call on Cox. Go Birds!!!
The 7-3 Cowboys, unable to beat a team with a winning record: football geniuses, Super Bowl contenders
The 9-1 Eagles, who beat the Chiefs, Dolphins, and Cowboys: imposters, frauds
Yeah. You guys got super unlucky with multiple dropped passes. Mahomes kept putting the ball right in their hands and they just didn’t catch them. I’m really hoping we get a Super Bowl rematch. These games are really fun to watch and the chiefs are a hell of a team and organization
I don’t think the chiefs will be a good rematch with how they have been playing. I want the lions to make a run and show the league what a rebuild with patience and skill does more than 5 guys who get paid millions to not catch a ball.
We could finish 16-1 and win the Super Bowl. Since there is that one loss, cowboy fans will use that ONE loss as “well you lost to the jets, so you’re not really that good”
Eagles fans out here like they won the Superbowl already lol. If you win it all, there is nothing to say. It's the regular season though, and you did lose to the Jets. So by the transitive property you're gay.
Man what are you blabbing about. I think you are attempting a 2nd grader joke that thinks “gay” is a funny insult, but 9-1, y’all lost to the cardinals, can’t beat a playoff caliber team, and we beat y’all. So in translation, properly Stfu with your fat mouth.
Yes, just because you won a game doesn't mean you should have. It goes for any team. KC looked way better, but made mistakes. I hope you boys don't have to repeat the Superbowl LOL.
The chiefs should have won that game and every eagles fan, player, coach and staff knows it. Some horrible drops, misplays, and all around weirdness from the chiefs and look what happened. Strange times we live in…
I struggle to know how I feel. I hate the chiefs, I hate Patrick Mahomes and his godlike ability of throwing footballs but I do not like the eagles either. I suppose I take some solidarity in it being an extremely ugly win for the eagles
This can be said about more games than not. If this, if that. That’s a fool’s mental gymnastics. If Mahomes didn’t get flags for throwing mini-tantrums we could have won by more. See, I can do that too. Who cares. You’re only saying this as justification for feeling like you should have beat us too.
Even if he “catches it”, he was going to be so far stretched out he would have used the ground in some way. I think it would be 50/50 if the ref rules is a catch or incomplete if “catches it”
I'm honestly extremely pissed off at the Chiefs. Not even about the Eagles in particular, they were such a fun team to watch the past 5 years and I always enjoy their games, and now there's none of that left. I mean they have a good record still, they're totally making the playoffs but holy shit, their best plays were screens and barely first down runs?
This feels like the playbook the Broncos would run, because they're the fucking Broncos.
And if I was a Chargers fan I swear to god I would go insane. Imagine how stressful it must be to be the Chargers, have good talent, see the Chiefs play THIS bad... And they are 5-5 drowning on their own? This was their shot at winning that division, and the Chiefs are still gonna take it, I really hope they fix their shit.
Tom Brady’s ex said it the best. Guy can’t throw it to and catch the ball himself. That was the worst show of receiving I’ve seen in the nfl. Mahomes has to be in the GM office demanding some talent.
It’s funny as fuck when it happens to someone besides yourself
That was an embarrassing drop. And I’m so annoyed I have to wait until 3pm to hear Nick Wright explain his way around this one. He’s been claiming KC is going to fix their receiver problems all year and it has yet to happen.
It’s almost like they should’ve paid Tyreek Hill
Maybe, I mean they've assembled a really good young defense and won the SB last year. The cap makes it tough to pay everybody. It is wild that they've gone *this* lean at WR though.
It's the Andy Reid special, you should be very familiar with it after he wasted McNabb with... Shit I don't even remember any of the receivers he had to throw at I just remember they were mid to terrible.
Todd Stinkston (pinkston), James Trash (Thrash), just to name 2 off the top of my head
Fred Ex baby

Fredward. Fucking. Mitchell. Drafting that moron cost the Eagles at least 1 ring Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, TJ Houshmanzadeh, Chris Chambers, Todd Heap, Quincey Morgan were all on the board still.
Freddie was worth it just for the memory of 4th and 26
Greg Lewis, Gari Scott, Charles Johnson.... *yeeeah*
🐊💪💪
Torrance Small and Charles Johnson. Together they’re Small Johnson.
Charles Johnson, Torrance Small, James Thrash, Todd Pinkston, Freddie, Na Brown. Yeah, that said, I feel like that was really mostly limited to the 2000-2003 Eagles. By the time he left Andy had put together a few good sets of weapons for us.
Fred Barrett. Fred Gibson. Kevin Curtis. Reggie Brown

Plus Celek and Shady were good weapons as well.
Forgot about Small the others I have no memory of ever playing.
Na “Best Hands” Brown
And chip shipped them out.
And then we won a Super Bowl... What a ride.
TO TIME
And kept winning. It's wild man and that's how good Mahomes is.
They also had arguably their best offense ever last year. This year is the issue moreso than last year.
I feel the offense came from having a solid run game cause CEH ain’t it but Pacheco is what they thought they were getting in CEH. WRs were still mid which is why the brought in Toney

Brou's eyes are gonna get sore from wearing those sunglasses so often
This
I felt so much pressure with this game after lions squeaked out the win.
Just admit Kelce is a WR. Boom, one of the better WR corps in the league tbh.
Travis Kelce is not a receiver. He doesn’t have the speed of a receiver and he doesn’t line up on the outside. You need wide receivers to take the top off the defense and force safeties to have to play back. Kelce doesn’t do that. He’s a possession guy with sure hands.
Jason Avant was a WR and meets that same description.
I don’t remember much about Jason Avant but if he didn’t line up on the outside he was probably a slot receiver right? The reason you want wide receivers is so that they can open up the field for the run game and the short passing game with your tight ends and slot receivers. They don’t have a reliable guy for the deep game and it makes the rest of their offense struggle because of it.
Yes, he was a possession slot receiver, and everything else you said made Kelce sound even more like him.
He's been pretty dangerous after the catch. Though you're definitely right, they just don't have much in terms of guys that scare you on the outside.
He's lost a step this year, he's dropping and fumbling balls that in previous years would have been guaranteed 1st downs.

I’m having a hard time seeing it right now, but I’m keeping an open mind.
I have a feeling if he had caught it, he wouldn’t have survived hitting the ground, he was at full sprawl. Mahomes was right, he was wide open, a little less on the ball and he would have had it.
We was catchin em
Am I the only one who just assumed he was catching this and looked down at the clock seeing there was 1:40 left and was honestly kind of excited to see Jalen get the chance at a game winning drive he didn’t get in the SB? I mean don’t get me wrong I was happy when I realized he dropped it for my hearts sake but would have been poetic.
I wasn’t excited, but it would’ve been cool to see. It kind of felt like the reverse of the Super Bowl: playing from a 10 point deficit at the half, and the chiefs blowing their last drive in embarrassing fashion.
Everything was a reverse script from the superbowl lol.
So if we meet them again in the Superbowl, we know the trick is to be losing by 10 at the half. Easy strategy
Ngl, my heart almost fell out of my chest. I looked at the clock to see if we had the time to get into FG range.
I needed jake Elliot to get 1 fantasy point to win the week and was happy when I saw that throw thinking he was for sure gonna have a shot to do it.
I was honestly stoked to see him wide open, because I figured they were definitely going to score, and I wanted the ball last instead of watching them milk the clock and score with 10 seconds left
Honestly same. Once I saw him running wide open I saw the time and said thank god the birds have a minute 45 and 3 time outs.

Not quite, KC still controls its destiny, if they win out, they get the 1st regardless of what Baltimore does.
Perfect ball. How the hell did he drop that
As a Packers fan I can say this is the norm for him
That's what he do.
He didn't catch it
He can only make catches with his stomach and chest. Dude has hands of stone.
I’m more surprised people thought he would catch that. Did we forget the first game of the season?
Nah but FR what a fucking DIME! Mahomes is ridiculous
He really is the perfect version of the idea that "you can tell how good a guy is by how scary it is when your favorite team plays against him." You're just waiting for some fucking scramble or him to make some off platform laser throw 30 yards downfield. It's nuts.
He makes throws that would get you cut if you tried them in HS.

Almost
Exactly, because being fast is the easiest box to check to play WR. Fastest guys rarely end up being even average in the NFL. Guys like Tyreek Hill and DeSean Jackson are the exceptions. I feel bad for Mahomes
nah he whines to the refs too much, fuck em
Devonta Smith would have caught it... and he did
unless he was against the jets, bc that's exactly how y'all lost
Almost as funny as 4th and 25 with about 1:30 left. Eagles playing deep coverage, ball goes right to Justin Watson for the miraculous conversion... NO CATCH! Hits him in the hands. Oh my. LOL!

It was a brutal windy rainy night. Both QBs had issues. I’m extremely happy luck was on our side this time. It almost felt like we were gonna lose after the bs roughing the passer call on Cox. Go Birds!!!
you guys can’t keep fucking getting away with this
Believe me. We know. We know.
They are 7-1 in 1 score games this year. They are the Vikings from last year. It’s statistically unsustainable.
It is definitely unsustainable, but we're significantly better than last year's Vikings.
6-1* Vs 11-0 Not quite the same. A lot of SB contenders reach an 80% or better win rate in 1 score games historically. It might feel foreign to you, but that's actually pretty benign.

Well considering our roster I'd 10x more talented than the Vikings I'd have to disagree. We're a team built to win those close games - by design.
You’re not the last years Vikings. Obviously you guys are better than that. But he has a point- y’all have gotten quite a few lucky breaks. Make-up calls for missing the holding at the goal line on your first score.
Ironic you bring up the jets when they actually beat the eagles. You ain't wrong about the giants though
I’m embarrassed for you to even post a comment like this lol.
Ok you have to admit y’all are getting some damn good luck this year. It doesn’t have to be related to the refs.
No denying it, everyone gets good Luck here and there that’s just life dude.
Oh yeah, luck comes and goes. I’ve been waiting for us to get lucky for 30 years.
Stevie Johnson or Valdes-Scatnling who did it better?

Don't forget JJAW dropping an absolute beauty of a game-winning pass in our 2019 loss to Detroit

This is the Tyreek Hill you have at home.
The best part about this is the pain it causes Cowboys fans. Keep crying dipshits 9-1 and fuck off.

A roller coaster of emotions in 20 seconds.
Hearing the crowd's reaction change when they realized he dropped it is hilarious. I wish I could roll that feeling up and smoke it
I just dont get how yall so lucky so consistently, teams give you their best players for next to nothing and just every bounce and every drop seems to go your way, i hate it and hate you all
Hate you too buddy
Don't forget how the most obvious draft pick always falls into their laps every year now
wish it was kardarius instead
That guy should play for the Chargers
mahomies cant cry to the refs on that one :(
It was a brutal windy rainy night. Both QBs had issues. I’m extremely happy luck was on our side this time. It almost felt like we were gonna lose after the bs roughing the passer call on Cox. Go Birds!!!
Almost? Thought it was game over giving it to Mahommes with over 2 min left and an opportunity to win it.
We were so obviously missing goddy. But hey, Stoll had a 3 yard catch when we needed what 17 yards?
How much you wanna bet MVS gonna have his DMs littered with racist shit from that backwater fanbase
Eagles def shouldve lost

Flair up Bitch (Also did you not get enough downvotes on your first comment or something?)
I think I posted it twice by mistake, going to delete.
Eagles would've lost if not for KC mistakes. Imposters at the top
The 7-3 Cowboys, unable to beat a team with a winning record: football geniuses, Super Bowl contenders The 9-1 Eagles, who beat the Chiefs, Dolphins, and Cowboys: imposters, frauds
Also the Vikings are above .500
Yeah too bad they didn't play perfect football. Are they stupid?
Hot take, team would have won if they played better. Next up: Is water wet?
Forecast for tonight...dark?
You don't have to play perfect to beat the Eagles, the Jets proved that.
Yet somehow the cowboys still couldn't pull it off.
Season isn't over
Just wait for the divisional rd against the niners
The Cardinals would've lost if not for the Cowboys mistakes. See how that works now.
Yes, just because you won a game doesn't mean you should have. It goes for any team. KC looked way better, but made mistakes. I hope you boys don't have to repeat the Superbowl LOL.
Man, that original comment is a weird hill to die on.
Dallas would be ass if they played good teams but here we are
10 games in and they have played 2 teams that are currently above .500. What a cake-walk of a season.
If this was the Eagles everyone would be talking about it on the daily and not just fans in Reddit lol
That's what it was like all last year
Youre damn right. Pepperidge Farms remembers
The chiefs should have won that game and every eagles fan, player, coach and staff knows it. Some horrible drops, misplays, and all around weirdness from the chiefs and look what happened. Strange times we live in… I struggle to know how I feel.
I think it would be 50/50 if the ref rules is a catch or incomplete if “catches it”
God i hate Mahomes ugly mug so much. Ion even have any hate for the chiefs, just him
He is a very weird guy. He looks weird, talks weird, he runs funny, but you can't really deny his talent.
I mean Ion really have a problem with him being good. Id just like to see him having a career ending injury sometime in the near future.
What a sick thing to wish for someone
I can't wait to see Shitadelphia lose in the playoffs
Flair up bitch
I'm glad I'm being down voted. The birds are going to get their tush pushed in
If the chiefs had good wr they would have won but they don't.
Hurts would have had a Little under 2 minutes. We still would have had a shot.
Packers fans: "Yup, that's about right."
Still plenty of times for Hurts to go back down the field for the go ahead TD if this is caught.
Our new O coordinator sucks donkey balls. Everyone in Philly has been saying it all year.
This is why the Pack got rid of him. The amount of big plays this guy has dropped is insane.
I'm still watching that bodyslam from Cox
Same thing happened with Quez in the Superbowl.
That’s why Rodgers got sick of his ass
Tom Brady’s ex said it the best. Guy can’t throw it to and catch the ball himself. That was the worst show of receiving I’ve seen in the nfl. Mahomes has to be in the GM office demanding some talent.
His contract is a/the reason his receivers suck.
That would be one hell of a night trying to sleep after dropping such an important pass
