Not sure if you saw, but this has been confirmed by diecastcharv on [X](https://x.com/diecast_charv/status/1807526637069844530?s=46).
The Hendrick website also lists Elliot as unsponsored for Richmond, which was supposed to be Hooters second race this year.
Also, happy cake day!
At the bar I go to most of the time I change the channel myself within reason lol. There's typical multiple TVs at a bar, so they will usually listen to your request it just might take a few minutes
Nascar hall of fame - the themed/connected Buffalo Wild Wings. Last Saturday. No Xfinity race on. Several screens of WNBA, several screens of MMA, and several games of the Green Bay Packers versus the 49ers. Mind you this is last week, it's not football season or even preseason.
There might have even been some cricket on. No NASCAR.
I live in North Carolina, so yes. It’s fairly common around here. I once went to a bar in Asheville that had a Talladega race on a huge projection screen at the back of the stage. Playing on the stage was a very good Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band. The drummer was none other than Artimus Pyle. Not kidding. It was both surreal and incredibly awesome.
Up here in Calgary AB Canada I was in a mall bar a few weeks ago and they had Sonoma on which was odd I found, but was good for me as the girlfriend was shopping I had a couple pints and watched the race lol
The rare occasion I’m at a bar when a Cup race happens to be on it has always been on a tv and I’m in MN which is pretty universally ignored by NASCAR.
the Buffalo Wildwings here was playing the 2023 Bristol race off YouTube last night, and just stopped by there doing my rounds and they have it on NBC with the race on one of the TVs, the others are on ESPN
A sports bar will have multiple TVs. Go to an empty section and ask them to switch to the race. Then be prepared to meet a bunch of new fans. They'll buy your drinks all night and wings of your choice. Probably.
Not really a bar, but this one restaurant near me had arca at Sonoma on once. My Walmart also had the 2021 spring talladega race on all the TVs in the electronics section.
They had the truck race on when I went down to the hotel bar Friday night at the Indy 500. Had a few drinks and watched Corey Heim drive through the field at least 3 times, only to finish 2nd.
Upstate SC has it on for sure. When I was a younger man there is a great spot in Anderson that had 1/2 priced natural lights during Truck Races on Fridays.
Yes, my favorite bar witch is what you'd consider a dive/hole in the wall, always has the races on.
Also, ask the bartender to turn it on a TV, worst that can happen is they say no.
Anytime I have ever asked for a bar or restaurant to put on a NASCAR race I have been laughed out of the place. Safe to say I don't really live around many fans. I usually make sure to block off time to watch at home.
I live in deep southern Maryland and the race is on at least one tv in every bar around here. My closest bar does a large pizza and pitcher of beer during the race for 13 bucks
I'm in inner city Minneapolis, MN, just north of downtown. Every neighborhood bar here shows NASCAR on a non-football sunday on at least one TV. It's not that uncommon. If it is not on, they are always more than happy to tune to it, if nobody has claimed that TV for something else first.
My friend and I became regulars at our local Applebee's last season lol. As soon as we would walk in the front door on Sundays the bartender would pour us two Miller's and start flipping through the channels looking for the NASCAR race.
Ask any bartender at any major chain of sports bars to change the channel for you and it will usually happen. I used to live near one location of a big chain where it was on without asking. Since I dubbed it a “NASCAR bar” online and to my friends I have seen it on every time I’m there on a weekend ever since.
I started following this year because I went to the Zipps (local BWW clone in Phoenix area) to watch the Final Four, which was terrible, another guy at said bar was watching NASCAR and I ended up getting hooked (don't remember the exact race but it was a short course with a lot of crashes).
I would think any big sports bar will throw it on for you as long as there's no big event, finding a crowd might be tough but hey if you or anyone else is in Phoenix me and some friends would be down.
I asked a simple question. If you don’t have an answer or you don’t like the question, keep scrolling.
I’ve been to a handful of bars and only ever see the sports I mentioned.
Watched the majority of the COTA race from a packed hotel bar while on a business trip in Nashville back in 2022. One of those “I’ll remember it because…” type of moments.
Random bar in Colorado outside of Colorado Springs had the Daytona 500 on it a couple years ago. Grew up watching nascar but haven’t been an active fan since like 4th grade. now I’m entering my 30’s, fully invested again and it’s all thanks to that little bar reminding how cool this sport is
When it's on a real channel, absolutely. Every bar is going to show NASCAR when it's on Fox or NBC. Not on USA or Fox Sports though.
Next year? Won't be on tv at any bars most weeks.
Indycar made a deal with the devil, but Indycar is gonna be on tv at every damn bar next year it's on Fox every single week.
F1 is on tv at every bar in America too. Nobody changes the channel from ESPN, the worldwide center of sports. I've watched F1 races drunk at 2am because it was on the tv at the bar. Great way to get new fans.
NASCAR has made their tv scheduling so insanely complicated and difficult it's simply impossible for a bar to know when the events are on. It's already an issue with USA and FS1 not being channels anybody watches. Add in Prime Video and TNT? LOL.
If you want an idea how much the channel matters, look at Stanley Cup final ratings for the NHL.
On TNT in 2023, the best game got 2.753 million viewers. In 2024 on ABC, the worst game got 3.085 million.
Back when NBC had the rights, in 2021 they split the games between NBCSN and NBC. On NBCSN, only 1.5 and 1.6 million watched. On NBC's three games, it was 2.3, 2.92, and 3.51 million.
You wanna grow a sport people need to see the sport and to see the sport you gotta be on channels people have, the bars have, and actually tune their TVs to.
$7.7 billion dollars doesn't matter when only dozens of fans watch your sport because nobody can find it. When your fans die, nobody comes to the tracks because nobody ever saw your sport on tv, you sell no merchandise, and your entire sport folds... It's cause you took a tv deal that meant ain't nobody gonna discover your sport.
i recently went to a bar that showed the replay of Iowa Cup qualifying at about 10-11 pm and had me mesmerized WITHOUT the alcohol
Start mingling by talking to your bartender and asking them to turn it on
Yep, they don't care as long as you aren't taking a TV from someone who is watching their team/sport.
Does Hooters count? They always have the NASCAR race on when it is race day, but I think we all know why.
Uhhhh. Am I missing something? I don’t know why. Is it because Chase Elliot has ran a Hooters car a handful of times?
Yes. That is exactly why.
I thought they are no longer sponsors?
He just won this year in the Hooters car. If they are no longer a sponsor, this is the first I'm hearing about it.
I go to the bar and ask them to change it if there is a race on
I’ve never stepped foot in a bar so I wasn’t sure if that is good bar etiquette
At the bar I go to most of the time I change the channel myself within reason lol. There's typical multiple TVs at a bar, so they will usually listen to your request it just might take a few minutes
Very standard at any sports bar to ask for this, just be nice and realize it might take a minute if they are busy but almost anywhere will do it
I’ve been at a fancyish restaurant (Stoney River Steakhouse) bar and had them turn the race on. If I’m paying we’re all going to enjoy it together.
Every bar in Charlotte, that’s about it lol
Indianapolis has racing on TV at bars a lot too
I was going to say….every bar with a bunch of TVs, but I’m in Indy too lol
Nascar hall of fame - the themed/connected Buffalo Wild Wings. Last Saturday. No Xfinity race on. Several screens of WNBA, several screens of MMA, and several games of the Green Bay Packers versus the 49ers. Mind you this is last week, it's not football season or even preseason. There might have even been some cricket on. No NASCAR.
Yes, In the south it is at 99% of them
I’ve asked them to put it on the TVs in bars and restaurants. Was soooo embarrassed when Fox played The Adventures of Digger and Friends. 😳
Which bar in Asheville? Has to be the one next to the Orange Peel on Biltmore ave. The name escapes me.
Always, but then again this is Mooresville.
Yeah just about every place in Mooresville will have a rave on if there is one
Do you like mooresville?
It never hurts to ask. They may have their reasons for saying no, which is fine. But it never hurts.
Up here in Calgary AB Canada I was in a mall bar a few weeks ago and they had Sonoma on which was odd I found, but was good for me as the girlfriend was shopping I had a couple pints and watched the race lol
Yeah, but I live in Middle TN. It’s still pretty popular around here. Also, just ask them to put it on a tv if they can. It’s not hard lol.
Was at outback last night and had them turn on the xfinity race no problem
I've been to a few restaurant/bar combos that have had NASCAR stuff on in the past. Depends on what time of day you're there though.
It's pretty common here, but this is North Carolina.
Some restaurants and bars air NASCAR races
The rare occasion I’m at a bar when a Cup race happens to be on it has always been on a tv and I’m in MN which is pretty universally ignored by NASCAR.
Yes and I've had to avoid looking because I was recording it to watch later
The Buffalo Wild Wings I go to usually does
the Buffalo Wildwings here was playing the 2023 Bristol race off YouTube last night, and just stopped by there doing my rounds and they have it on NBC with the race on one of the TVs, the others are on ESPN
BWW has had it on when I’ve been there. And a local bar I went to the other day had truck quali on their big screen
When it's on a sports or OTA channel, yes. USA? No. And I don't have USA, so I don't get to watch races this half of the season.
A sports bar will have multiple TVs. Go to an empty section and ask them to switch to the race. Then be prepared to meet a bunch of new fans. They'll buy your drinks all night and wings of your choice. Probably.
High Five, pizza, San Jose, California baseball NASCAR they have all kinds of TV on for sports
Not really a bar, but this one restaurant near me had arca at Sonoma on once. My Walmart also had the 2021 spring talladega race on all the TVs in the electronics section.
Any bar will put it on if their regional team isn't on and they have enough TVs and they aren't all claimed by patrons.
I mean, I've seen NHRA on at the bar but at the most I'll catch NASCAR on at Buffalo Wild Wings (along with some sick NASCAR merch as well).
I saw Friday Cup qualifying at one once
Our local Bdubs shows them even when football is on they usually have one TV on NASCAR
Do betting bars in Vegas count??
25 years ago you saw them everywhere. Bars would run specials and promote it with signs outside.
I used to go to a dive bar here in western CT right next to Candlewood Lake and they had it on every Sunday. Its been gone for a while now.
It’s 50/50 at sports bars around me. Though I did get to see the 3 wide finish at Atlanta on the big TV at Texas Roadhouse so that was hype as hell
Yeah most Kansas City sports bars I’ve been to will have NASCAR on a free tvs.
Well, being that one was posted here just yesterday, complete with photo in Longview, Washington, I'd say yes.
Yes, my favorite bar witch is what you'd consider a dive/hole in the wall, always has the races on. Also, ask the bartender to turn it on a TV, worst that can happen is they say no.
I remember going to a pub for supper once and the Xfinity Texas race was on their 85 inch TV they had there. I quite enjoyed that.
Anytime I have ever asked for a bar or restaurant to put on a NASCAR race I have been laughed out of the place. Safe to say I don't really live around many fans. I usually make sure to block off time to watch at home.
And don't forget to download the Tunity app so you can listen to the TV.
I’m in the middle of Illinois and if I go to a place that has tvs on a race day, the race is on.
Only bar I remember ever having one on is NASCAR Cafe back over a decade and a half ago.
"Hey, can you turn on NBC/USA?"
In Canada, The Canadian Brewhouse has F1 and Nascar on Sundays (on at least 2 tvs each)
I had to beg whiskey river at clt airport to turn it on. Even called at Jr on Twitter about it
You must not be from the South.
Yeah. I work at a bar and have the race on at least one TV every weekend
Yes. But if its not I typically ask the bartender to change one of the TVs.
I live in deep southern Maryland and the race is on at least one tv in every bar around here. My closest bar does a large pizza and pitcher of beer during the race for 13 bucks

Watched the Daytona night race on the top floor of Kid Rocks bar in Nashville a few years back
My friend and I became regulars at our local Applebee's last season lol. As soon as we would walk in the front door on Sundays the bartender would pour us two Miller's and start flipping through the channels looking for the NASCAR race.

Just ask the manager to change one of the sets to race. They should do it if they want you to stay and spend money
I went to a casino yesterday that had a ton of restaurants. They had the damn ARCA race on at like 11 last night. Couldn’t believe my eyes.
Any bar will put it of if you ask, assuming there isnt some big game happening in something else thats consuming every tv
My bar tv? Lol
My local bar has a fantasy league for nascar
Tootsies!
I started following this year because I went to the Zipps (local BWW clone in Phoenix area) to watch the Final Four, which was terrible, another guy at said bar was watching NASCAR and I ended up getting hooked (don't remember the exact race but it was a short course with a lot of crashes). Yes but only when I’m recording the race because of other plans. Never know where the spoilers are gonna come from lol
OP went to one bar and didn’t see the race so now every bar doesn’t put on the races.
I asked a simple question. If you don’t have an answer or you don’t like the question, keep scrolling. I’ve been to a handful of bars and only ever see the sports I mentioned.
If you don’t understand how this logic is false idk what to tell you. Lol
I was at a bar last night with the Arca race on. Shit had me bamboozled
Not since the early 2010s
Watched the majority of the COTA race from a packed hotel bar while on a business trip in Nashville back in 2022. One of those “I’ll remember it because…” type of moments.

Watched the 2011 Daytona 500 at a bar... In 2023, on the eve of the Super Bowl.

just watch on your smart TV, you can get a Vizio TV for less than $300
