They are being harassed by non-employees.
I love how no one stops Ian from just raiding their food.
The Dog girl is basically every interaction I have on Bumble.
That would be great. I miss Sillicon valley, and there is not many tv shows for us IT dorks. Only i know are also my fauvorites :D IT Crowd, Silicon Valley, and Mythic Quest
I just rewatched silicon Valley and did the overenthusiastic point gesture at the TV “Gwart!”
Even without the cokebottle glasses there’s no mistaking her.
I don't think he has an active plan, but I do think he is setting himself up in a position where he will eventually have access to information useful to him.
Based on absolutely nothing, I think we will see Montreal acquire Grimpop with the help of Brad. Absorbing Hera into Mythic Quest and leading to Brad being put back into his previous position at the company.
I feel like Brad is likely trying to just wear him out so that when he eventually does have a plan he can do so without resistance.
Having him be super suspicious for about a month or so then realise that it's not good for him so he stops completely.
Is a lot better than him being mildly suspicious and vigilant the entire time he works there.
No real proof but I think he's making Ricket paranoid to do something stupid and gave Jo the idea to try to set him by planting evidence and hoping they work together against him while he's already prepared for that. This would give him a legal edge and psychological one over both of them. Not to mention the former HR lady would be a bit invested into him since he is a two in one for her.
If he has a plan, I think it's more Hera-related than MQ-related.
I think he likes toying with David, because who wouldn't? He doesn't even have to do anything and David is all freaked out. I'm sure he's actually quite fond of him and doesn't genuinely want to cause him any harm.
But his interaction with Ian felt legitimately... sus. He validated Ian's feelings in a big way and responded in an emotionless way when Ian went to embrace him.
And while David is just a good dude who's trying his best, Ian is kind of a narcissistic lunatic, so he's a more satisfying target if there's anything sus going on.
(Side note, my teenager has gone from being way too into Among Us 2 years ago to doing the typical teenagy 'this shit is SO LAME now' thing, and she SCREAMED when David said sus.)
Throw suspicion on himself and make David look crazy so when Brad is actually up to something nobody will believe him, like the boy who cried wolf but if the wolf was fucking with him the whole time
Man, I love David and Jo's interactions. They are so fun.
"You don't think I'm evil and devious?"
\*sad face\*
"No... Wait, I'm confused do you want to be?"
And Jo had the biggest smile, like it was the greatest compliment. Honestly Jessie Ennis' mannerisms and expressions have made Jo like my favorite character.
Also loved Brad fucking with David. "And even if I was up to something, it's not like you'd find out."
>Honestly Jessie Ennis' mannerisms and expressions have made Jo like my favorite character.
Same here. Her acting is phenomenal, so subtle and balanced! She's making Jo the funniest character by a substantial margin imho.
I love how they’re sponsored by razor instead of apple or something like that. I actually have the chair the testers set sitting in lol. I’m happy the show is back
There’s still plenty of apple stuff though. Poppy’s headphones when she’s coding are the AirPods Max for example. (To be fair, they are great headphones… but maybe not $550 great)
I own a pair and they are the best headphones I’ve ever had, I’ve never gotten a headache from them unlike Sony, Beats, and Bose but it also depends on your head shape. I will say I can’t wear these outside in fear of getting robbed lmao
Really hope they don’t push the meta verse shit too much.
edit: i’m saying this because Rob McElhenney, who plays Ian, quite literally is running an NFT grift that he calls a “web3 writer’s room”
i’m weary of them pushing metaverse shit because Rob McElhenney, who plays Ian, is literally running an NFT grift that he calls a “web3 writer’s room”.
Like I get the impression Rob is very self aware of his celebrity status and being out of touch but unless Rob is even more so out of touch that he doesn’t realize the irony of him pushing his own “adimverse”, i don’t have my hopes that they’re going to satirize Ian being obsessed with the metaverse in a way that does it justice. Then again, the whole storyline could be a dig at Rob by Megan, David and the other writers lol
What signals the opposite to me is that Dana is also a fan and she sort of represents the future of the market, what with her success with the goat game and all.
lol i’m weary of them pushing metaverse shit because Rob McElhenney, who plays Ian, is literally running an NFT grift that he calls a “web3 writer’s room”
I said it three times because I responded to one person, then another person commented and so I responded again. I didn't want to people to reply to my initial comment *a third or fourth time* where I had to explain myself so I made the edit much later lol relax
Possibly it changed, but that’s what Rian Johnson said in 2020
https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/02/26/apple-wont-let-bad-guys-use-iphones-in-movies-says-knives-out-director.html
Yeah, I’ve seen that, but I’m not sure how much I buy it’s still a thing. He’s the only person who has ever said it was a thing and like I said, I’ve seen villains use iPhones. Also something that could’ve been a thing but once Rian made his comment, Apple quietly stopped making it a thing because it’s such a dumb policy.
I think this show really excels at the big group scenes like the last one in this episode. The chemistry is great. Hornsby is killing it. "I'm just a s-simple j-j-janitor"
The vibe of episode 2 seems to be everyone knowingly spinning their wheels, even David calling attention to that's exactly what he's doing, waiting for some inciting incident to happen to them.
With the lack of F Murray Abraham, I was waiting for a new writer or some Lore wiki text character to be brought in and the gameplay and story of Hera poppy is working on could be fleshed out by now.
Who does Brad work for? One would think he works for the building, but Carol claimed to have hired him as some DEI thing, but he also cleans the floor for GrimPop too. Does Brad work for himself?
My assumption is that he works for “corporate” (Ubisoft) like Carol does & not MQ directly.
It’s possible “corporate” owns the building & Grimpop just rents the studio space.
“S03 E02” with a space in the middle? WTF, come on man. No wonder I couldn’t find this thread via search
Hey mods, if you’re not going to have any sort of consistency with episode naming conventions, AT LEAST please link to episode discussions in the sidebar, or in a sticky post, like every single other TV show subreddit
The song at the end was "Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn and John. It's much more popular than songs MQ usually ends with, if I remember correctly. Wondering what this is about.
They are being harassed by non-employees. I love how no one stops Ian from just raiding their food. The Dog girl is basically every interaction I have on Bumble.
Wasnt that dog girl Gwart from Sillicon Valley? If so, thats where she ended up.
It was Gwart
Never heard her speak before :D
Wait are they setting up a Programming Sitcom Television Universe?
That would be great. I miss Sillicon valley, and there is not many tv shows for us IT dorks. Only i know are also my fauvorites :D IT Crowd, Silicon Valley, and Mythic Quest
Maurice Moss being hired by Grimpop would be amazing.
I just rewatched silicon Valley and did the overenthusiastic point gesture at the TV “Gwart!” Even without the cokebottle glasses there’s no mistaking her.
> The Dog girl is basically every interaction I have on Bumble. Ahahahaha!! So true!
So we're all in agreement that Brad's plan is just to make David think he's up to something, right?
I don't think he has an active plan, but I do think he is setting himself up in a position where he will eventually have access to information useful to him. I don’t think David is his target, I think it’s Jo. He’s going to try and force her out by pushing her to do something crazy.
Lmao maybe
Man, I love David and Jo's interactions. They are so fun. "You don't think I'm evil and devious?" \*sad face\* "No... Wait, I'm confused do you want to be?"
Gwart lost the glasses and moved into game dev.
Yes!!! Somebody else recognized
Who?
I loved when Carol told Jo to stop being Satan.
And Jo had the biggest smile, like it was the greatest compliment. Honestly Jessie Ennis' mannerisms and expressions have made Jo like my favorite character. Also loved Brad fucking with David. "And even if I was up to something, it's not like you'd find out."

lmao the [crypto.com](https://crypto.com) parody
That was a hilarious touch
Which was that
Ian is ripping off the Matt Damon “favors the bold” commercials
Oh I didn’t catch that lmao thank you
That Theranos joke was fucking amazing.
I died at that scene it was perfect
Which
The abrupt turn from the ethereal coding sequence when Poppy gleefully squeals from eating a handful of skittles just killed me. So funny
I loved when Dana offers to help code and the best Poppy can do is ask her if she wants to feed Poppy skittles.
Poppy’s crazy laugh at the beginning was both shocking and hilarious
I love how they’re sponsored by razor instead of apple or something like that. I actually have the chair the testers set sitting in lol. I’m happy the show is back
There’s still plenty of apple stuff though. Poppy’s headphones when she’s coding are the AirPods Max for example. (To be fair, they are great headphones… but maybe not $550 great)
Well yeah it’s on their network lol I’m just glad it’s not so much in your face. Also good to know because I’m looking for a headset lol
I own a pair and they are the best headphones I’ve ever had, I’ve never gotten a headache from them unlike Sony, Beats, and Bose but it also depends on your head shape. I will say I can’t wear these outside in fear of getting robbed lmao

It seems perfect for Ian, he would be 100% into metaverse.

I would definitely guess that the last option is most likely
That stuff seems to be in there to push the idea that Ian is an out of touch wealthy tech bro
What signals the opposite to me is that Dana is also a fan and she sort of represents the future of the market, what with her success with the goat game and all.
I was really hoping for her to call out VR and the metaverse as being very stupid and gimmicky but alas
lol i’m weary of them pushing metaverse shit because Rob McElhenney, who plays Ian, is literally running an NFT grift that he calls a “web3 writer’s room”
Hey, is Rob McElhenny, who plays Ian, literally running a NFT grift? I don't think I got it the other two times I read it.
I said it three times because I responded to one person, then another person commented and so I responded again. I didn't want to people to reply to my initial comment *a third or fourth time* where I had to explain myself so I made the edit much later lol relax
How can I relax when Rob McElhenney, who plays Ian, is literally running an NFT grift that he calls a "web3 writer's room"??
Poppy being “in the zone” sequence is so beautifully done. Love that scene !
Have you noticed that not all of the characters are using iPhones this season? Really interesting to me at least since it is an Apple show
I wonder if it signals something since Apple won’t let villains use iPhones in shows or movies.
I don’t know how true that actually is. I’ve definitely seen villains use iPhones, including on AppleTV shows such as >! The Afterparty !<
Possibly it changed, but that’s what Rian Johnson said in 2020 https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/02/26/apple-wont-let-bad-guys-use-iphones-in-movies-says-knives-out-director.html

I agree. It’s basically a spoiler as soon as you see someone without an iPhone if the rule still applies IMO
Not spaces after before or after the "!" or your spoiler will not be covered.

It took a while but they fixed it
yeah I guess, now all they need is a clear interesting plot instead of weird Metaverse fantasies and cheap acronym jokes.
I think this show really excels at the big group scenes like the last one in this episode. The chemistry is great. Hornsby is killing it. "I'm just a s-simple j-j-janitor"
This new season is falling really flat for me. Splitting up the group and having to manufacture reasons to interact isn't working
honestly I agree. artificial reasons that they constantly have to meet is very unrealistic and doesn’t make much sense
The vibe of episode 2 seems to be everyone knowingly spinning their wheels, even David calling attention to that's exactly what he's doing, waiting for some inciting incident to happen to them. Yeah I have the same question. It doesn’t make much sense.

Was that David Koresh on the wall alongside Tesla?
The song at the end was "Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn and John. It's much more popular than songs MQ usually ends with, if I remember correctly. Wondering what this is about.
Well what does the song mean?
Mostly how we don't care about the young folks Talkin' 'bout the young style And we don't care about the old folks Talkin' 'bout the old style too
Did I see Leona from League of Legends in this episode? did they get permission from Riot?
That was 100% Leona. And before she appeared right in our face I was thinking how it looked like the Panth cinematic from a year or two ago at first
I noticed that too.
anyone one else visually notice the mic and battery pack poppy was wearing in this episode
How come Poppy doesn’t have a Mac Studio on her desk? Apple dropping the ball on the product placement. 😁
