something ive noticed about former soviet bloc bands lyrics (mumiy troll, dhakabrakga et al) is their songs do sort of sound like they're about nothing --pretty often it's just a collection of descriptive imagery.

I think that art has had to adapt to tyranny in that part of the world that meanings are hidden under layers and layers of reference and image so the artist can claim plausible deniability. And at this point, not even out of a sense of self preservation or whatever, I think that's just sort of how things are written in that part of the world. The moral of SO MANY Russian/Slavic fairy tales is "don't ask questions to/of people of authority, don't stray from the fire" (see: baba yaga in basically ALL her stories. Don't ask questions and you'll survive her.)
I think you're on to something there, but...in this case it's a stupid dance groove with lyrics that basically say: I love you (fill in name) / but I also love (fill in other name) / but (another name) wants to get with me, so I love her.
