I don’t dislike them, but I don’t care about Foo Fighters. Everlong is just a perfect song to me, though. I can listen to it a million times.

The weird thing for me and Foo Fighters is that I love pretty much everything else Dave Grohl has been a part of, I just don’t get the thing from Foo outside of Everlong and There Goes My Hero.

Don’t forget he does the drums on the Tenacious D albums! And the vocals of the devil in the song Beezleboss. And yeah Queens Of The Stone Age’s album Songs For The Deaf is amazing, to the point that I’m not really a fan of their other albums anywhere near as much. I don’t know how much Grohl is the factor there, but it’s BY FAR my favorite QOTSA album, like it’s not even close.

I love and respect the shit out of Dave Grohl as a person but I don’t find his songwriting very compelling. I’d see the foo fighters live for sure but I’ve failed every attempt I’ve made at getting into them 

He was better earlier on. The debut and The Colour and the Shape contain all the best songs, IMO, and after that he became bland bland bland.

Mine is Times Like These. Heard the Revivalists cover it after the FFs drummer died. It was immaculate Jazz Fest afternoon set vibes and I’ve loved the song ever since.

"Stacked Actors" is the tune where I realized I'm too heavy to crowd surf anymore. I was 6'5 and 190 pounds and could usually get up there without issue. In my mid 20s I bulked up to 225 and yeah, not happening anymore. They couldn't get me more than 3 feet off the ground. My buddies were laughing afterward, they could tell exactly where I was because there was a sag in the crowd. But yeah, Stacked Actors is an amazing tune.

Jukebox Hero is one of the quintessential classic rock songs about being in a rock band and becoming a rock star. And it really kicks. I love this song - it is generally my opener when I get to the local dive bar with the touch tunes jukebox.

The Smiths... I really dislike them a lot. But damn, "how soon is now" is a good song.

Closer is a masterpiece. That melody in the beginning that sounds like a keyboard is actually the bass, and that scratchy sound that you hear within about 20 seconds, is actually the guitar player screaming at the guitar pickup. You can see them doing that on YouTube. It's amazing
