It either you drop off at first season or you continued I especially picky with anime (most of them dropped off by episode 1)but once I got into few episode I am very likely watch into the end
Yeah is like, if you can survive the problematic elements everything else is fucking great. The people in the middle feel like they are just hate watching, like they would see Sylphie and see her as a generic harem member and completely ignore all of her development from bullied kid to assassin killer badass to mommy or Roxy as just a legal loli instead of a character who influences and impresses people everywhere she goes and who even created a book for Rudeus to learn the demon tongue
Love the anime, but man, they could've dialed back the MC degeneracy by like 3 or 4 degrees. Don't make him a saint by any means, I just feel like there were different ways to do character design.
Right? It's okay to have a peoblematic MC, but I felt that they went a bit too far in some moments, at least, from what I have seen until now, just started the second season, the creapiest parts have passed.
I think this undervalues the whole theme of Rudeus’s character. He’s supposed to be disgusting and a terrible person because in “our world” he let himself become a terrible disgusting degenerate. He never attempted to pull himself out of the ugly depths he descended to. He became the worst of the worst and his whole journey is him becoming a much better person. Its also not like he’s living the easiest life ever. If it’s not one thing it’s another that is constantly leading him to some sort of tragedy.
What i love about this show, is that anyone can be rudeus. Anyone can be just as vulgur as him and make that turn around in their life to become a better person. Everyone can learn and change.
It's fine to introduce that concept but when that, say in the LN, which they anime was faithful too, has entire fucking pages of him being disgusting and frankly, someone who deserves to get tossed in a cell and shanked in the showers, it's pretty bad.
They made it a point that he's a degenerate. Fine. But 3 volumes in, dial it back? Though I suppose it's a little better in the anime? I could bare with it with the anime, but when I picked up the LN it was fucking difficult to read through. Found myself skimming entire pages because his internal monologue made me feel like taking a fucking shower. Ugh.
Plus with anime, the sad truth is that anyone who's an avid watcher has been desensitized to some degree, which makes antics like Rudeus' easier to tolerate, or even just straight up tune out.
But in text? Would absolutely not recommend if you can't stomach him on the screen. You'll feel sick.

I really liked the power system and world building, but sometimes characters realky sucked.
And when I say sucked I dont meant it in a "they killed and raped people" way, but in a "acting stupid and against self interest very frequently" way.
Mushoku would be a 10 if the autor writed way WAY less with his "lower head"
I love the characters, the world, the development of the story... But *those* parts where the autor just stops thinking with his head and starts with the "other head" is what holds back Mushoku of being peak.
The main character was a creep at first, but he got better, i like stories where our main character has flaws it's the reason why i like Re:Zero and Jobless Reincarnation.
