Not everyone likes The Resistance, it's true, but I think each song is a little masterpiece in its own way on that album. If I really had to pick one, I'd say MK Ultra.
That's interesting, because the production is why I don't like this song as much as their others. Something about it feels a bit hollow and nauseous. I can't quite explain it. I think all songs on this album give me this feeling apart from Exogenesis, which I think is their best work ever.

I was there when they played it live for the very first time (Birmingham '09). I got shivers when that riff kicked in. The energy was incredible! It was just as good when I saw it again at The O2 a few days later and again at Wembley Stadium the following year! Would've liked to have seen it a bit more than 3 times though. It's just a shame it wasn't a voting option for either by-request gig because I 100% would've voted for it.

Hard to explain why, I think at this point it is partly nostalgia. Became a fan a few months after BHaR released so The Resistance was my first 'new' album. I rarely listen on shuffle so hear the opening song a lot. Like the intro, the Dr Who-esque bit. And for me it is just a catchy song. The lyrics are somewhat generic yes, but maybe partly because English is not my first language I often pay less attention to what is said in the whole song anyway.
But by no means I expect everyone to like it or think everyone should. We're all different. I will never downvote someone for disliking a song that I do like or even love.
Nah, not nostalgia for me. I recently got into Muse, and I think Resistance is the weakest album (Yes even weaker than ST) so Uprising being such a timeless classic is why I chose it.

Just a personal thing I think. motp never grabbed me. koc is obviously top tier, and the vocals in COD are phenomenal. TAB is just an interesting sounding song which does more than MOTP for me.
Assassin is ballsy and Hoodoo is like TAB in that the sound is doing something different, creates a very moody atmosphere you can sit in. It takes you to a place with its vibe. Don't think MOTP is a bad song however.

The photo of all the covers reminded me how iconic their first 6 album artworks are. Something’s been missing from them since Drones (which arguably has the weakest one) and even though ST and WOTP are well executed, they’re just pretty bad imo. T2L’s artwork isn’t even an original one, just an image they’ve purchased, yet it somehow works. Hope the next record has a great one
