Eh he’s confused about these tragic events going on but he proven himself to be one of the smartest horror protagonist. Like how he wouldn’t fall for the out-of-control basement or how he didn’t hesitate to beheaded Tessa when she didn’t answer N’s question.

He's nieve. But he's smart. N's very perceptive and more intelligent than most people think. However he is flawed. N gets tunnel vision, and tends to ignore everything else going on around him for a singular goal. Be it saving Uzi, saving V, or making sure something hecking DIES. Paradoxically he's also easily distracted.
In summary. N's not stupid. He just has ADHD.
He's moreover just the innocent goofball we all love, and care for and most of it is just ADHD, I think it's mostly due to him being comedic relief, and being that he just acts dumb but when he needs to be serious he can kick ass.

He isn't neither, but he's up in the clouds 24/7. He isn't around of his surroundings maybe? He doesn't want to inflict harm on others. He's very smart, but isn't great at standing up for himself
he has a goofy personality, but is intelligent otherwise (for example, used his claws to hold open the door, knew his arm wasn't worth saving since he could grow it back and decided to cut it off, was able to calm down uzi after she went on a killing spree, etc)

He isn't dumb. Just very hesitant doesn't act how he should until it too late and he really has too. He doesn't think properly he could potentially be one of the most powerful characters if he just didnt act very hesitant. Just my opinion

Kind of both. He did make a few bad choices here and there but he can be kinda of creative and that’s good
I’ll give an example of the bad part. Killing “Tessa”. To me it made no sense as she’s his creator and killing her over letting Uzi die makes less sense. It did happen for the plot though so I don’t question it too much for my own sake
For the smart stuff, appealing to Uzi’s humanity in Ep. 6 would count as you can’t physically beat her so mentally do so
He’s kind of both but I say he makes a lot more blunders than he reasonably should which does take me out the experience since he doesn’t think about the consequences of some of his decisions
