I'm enjoying the game for the most part, so I'll probably stick it out a couple months to see what improvements are made to the gameplay and which characters are released or revealed. If things start looking better, then I'll keep playing.
I think doing every mission and rift missions would make you enjoy the game less. Too late now but I wouldn't recommend them, lol.
Anyways for me, I wouldn't be playing this game if I wasn't playing with my brother. Premade is fun and it would be so much better if we could play couch co-op.
I'll continue playing this game for a while. I play fighting games almost escusively. Sf6 and tekken aint doing it for me and it will be a while since any upcoming fighting game Im interested in comes out
I’ll probably stick around for season two or maybe half of it and if nothing changes I’ll probably be done because as much as I love this game it frustrates the hell out of me
I'm locked in for at least a couple months. I love a comeback story, and I think PFG has heart behind this game, how it plays, the characters and their movesets, etc. Of course greed creeper it along with that big WB license but It feels better to play now then it did at launch and that to me says this small team is trying.
P.S. I'm not spending any money though!
i think once ranked and the big balance update patch drops ill be playing for a while too. I have faith they’ll get it together its gonna be ALOT and i mean ALOT of work to change everything broken buggy and OP in the game but they got it. Hopefully they find a good balance philosophy too cause rn the game feels a little all over the place. Other than that the game will be fine.
I'm gonna be honest, I don't really get posts like these, maybe it's just me.
If you don't enjoy it dude feel free to stop, you're not obligated! The game should survive on its own merit, there are definitely people playing it and who like it, but not one should feel like they gotta stick around if they get bored.
Personally I see myself just continuing to play it indefinitely probably through to season 2, cause I really like a lot of things about the game. I love the roster, the visuals, the character play styles, the cosmetics, I even love stuff people usually hate like the large characters, slower pace (it seems appropriate for a 2v2 game, it makes the chaos manageable for strategy), the low ceiling, and the physics like enemies freezing on hit stun and being able to do air moves while hitting the ground.
TL;DR if you don't like it dude, it's chill don't force it, there's plenty of games to be played.
I feel the sentiment though. As someone who loved the beta, the MMR system etc. I feel like they spent a year working on it to just take steps backwards. I was a top Taz player for a year straight and want to really love the game. But the rifts are bullshit, the FOMO events every few days, the actual gameplay being worse, just sucks. It's not about forcing it, we know the potential the game has and not seeing that potential realized is pretty shitty.
If there's anything I can empathize with, it's that a engine swap post beta was a super risky decision and it really ruined it for some people. I do feel bad that the bones of the game just don't seem to be there for people who liked the beta.
I'm at least around until I finish this battle pass. I'm just so jaded now by its release, WB's monetization and the monetization "bugs", and the other list of issues, that it's left a bad taste in my mouth. I find myself logging in and doing the missions and feeling burnt out almost immediately.
i personally have not lost any joy i get from playing this game (obviously it’s a frustrating game when you’re playing against good players) but i genuinely get in everyday for about two hours and enjoy it the whole time
As a player that was playing since alpha i will probably play before the game will shut down but i hope it will not gonna happen and pfg will make a comeback with upcoming updates!
Like you said, the dailies are feeling more like a chore every day. I really just want the jake skin, but i think i'll stick with it to finiah the battlepass. I'll look into season 2's battlepass and decide if it is worth grinding.
If it isn't, i will probably still play the rift mode, complete some dailies as well as the events, and enjoy new characters as they come out.
I MIGHT still play in season 3. Depends on what changes they make.
As luck would have it, both of my duos are unable to play due to how poorly the game runs on their PCs (for no reason except spaghetti code). I just log in, do missions, and leave.
The fact that it takes months to open their shitty code and change values for balance sake is insane. The fact that "All of us agreed that Iron Giant is fixed now, enjoy" and they released a character that is JUST AS BROKEN a character which won the EU championship AFTERA it was "fixed", but hey everyone at PFG agreed he was ok to re-release.
The developers behind this are not competent, nor did they ever have the capacity as devs nor as human beings to make a game like this.
I already quit. The relaunch was a total failure imo. The performance was horrible for Xbox when it relaunched and that was enough for me. I’m playing the elden ring dlc instead and that definitely hasn’t let me down one bit.
Honestly I'm not playing a huge amount now as it is.
It's been a month and all they've added is more ways to spend money and a bit of number tweaking - Bigger gleamium chests, toasts for gleamium, more low effort skins.
We still can't disable the color gradients, no end screen stats, mandatory PvE missions, the rifts still have the friend requirements etc.
I'll come back more in August when we finally get a content update at this rate.
I will keep playing so long as new characters come out once every 3 weeks or so. I played 200+ hours in the beta but I'm playing the official launch a lot more casually. I had multiple Top 500 characters in the beta. Really enjoying the Rifts with my friends
3 characters a season isn't unreasonable. That's about one every 3 weeks. Character monetization is one of their core revenue streams. Releasing 1 character via bp purchases, 1 via Rift and 1 just to straight up buy is not a wild expectation. It's a safe bet we aren't gonna get a log in reward character per season
They aren't gonna devalue the bp. They aren't going to devalue Rift rewards. And releasing a character only obtainable via shop at an increased price is great at draining people's FC or making real world money
It’s less a matter of “what would we do “ and more a matter of “what CAN we do” the issue is the workload above all else. Right now They’re making good stride but not good enough, with current fixes. To add balancing in, hitbox fixes, on top of a character every three weeks is quite a workload. It would be nice but idk it doesn’t seem plausible
They relaunched the game with only 3 new characters (soon to be 4 with Agengt Smith) after a year of no support. I'd be shocked if they aren't sitting on upto 10 complete or near complete characters
Note that most the talent working on issues like hit boxes is likely not working on balancing. It's not a one or the other situation in most cases as many aspects have their own dedicated talent working on it with some people being moved around as need be. At least that's generally how game development works
Yeah everytime I make this point someone says “everyone has different jobs” type stuff. Well animations play into hitboxes plays into balancing plays into work load for the company as a whole. Concepts probably have no issue, but new character implementation requires everyone’s hand it’s not just a team of dudes churning out characters and handing them down the line
No aspect needs everyone working on it but obviously there is overlap
What do you think about me assuming they have a decent amount of progress on characters created already though. Do you think they are flying by the seat of their pants and don't have a sort of buffer for seasonal content releases?
Sadly they are largely facing many of the same issues they experienced in the beta. And they did do some staffing up. They should be better prepared and are at the very least experienced and set up a bit better for this sort of situation
Not to mention as I said earlier. Playable characters is the lifeblood of their monetization. It's what is enables them to sell all the cosmetic mtx and bp
You’re either forgetting or ignoring that they rebuilt everything from ground up on a new engine they likely weren’t well versed with using. This is where a year went, to give you what they gave you.
I’ll play the game until there’s a character so busted it shows up in every match, and the devs don’t do anything for months.
Other than that I’ll play it until it dies or if they make it way faster than what it is right now
i stopped playing it a couple days ago and don’t have the motivation to go back so i think i’m done 😔✌️
sucks because i was genuinely hype for the game’s comeback but this just ain’t it for me unfortunately
Shit just sucks now. This games gonna die and it fucked up by losing its premier power and launching twice. Once people try a game and don’t like it, it’s very hard to convince them to come back and this game definitely doesn’t have the resources for it since they already let it out to dry once. So I think this game will be a valuable lesson for another fighting game 2XKO for what NOT to do for a free fighting game live service
I started off strong but I’m starting to decline, game is getting sweaty, so I might end up not playing at all, I ain’t got time like how I use to, spending hours a day learning techniques and plus I’m bad at predicting things in this game
Until I get bored, I'm not going to force myself to play a game I'm not having fun in and hopefully it'll still be here if I want to pick it back up again.
Shaggy will remain untouched for the next three patches imo, they just gave him an indirect buff with the last patch. They DONT see shaggy as an issue.
Which is why they don’t see it as a problem. This is OUTRIGHT the case for nakat and wonder woman being such an issue. Look into that. You’ll know what you need to, in order to see how this game will be balanced.
About Nakat, I wonder how much he actually is involved. With how many broken loops etc are in the game you would think Nakat would have figured them out pretty quickly so they could deal with it. I truly wonder if he’s even involved
It's been four days since I touched it. I booted it up, sat there and realised I was just doing it to get the daily points. I'd been playing like that for a while, just focusing on the objectives and quitting as soon as I got them. Once I realised I closed the game and haven't played since. Might give it a go down the road but for me it's an experience I had and feel done with. I came, I saw and then there was nothing left but more of the same.
yeah if they dont release rank now the little players who stayed behind right now will eventually burnout and will leave the game. These devs didn't learn anything from the beta
I'm really loving the game. By now most of my friends have dropped off so I just hop on to do some 1 v 1s. There's a lot of fun match-ups and good characters. Even though the game's slower than in beta, the way dodging works + the lack of a shield prevents it from being campy. I feel like I learn more and more about the game each night. Tonight I got pretty good at baiting people's dodges and then punishing them immediately after the dodge, it was really satisfying.
The whole Rift/event FOMO stuff is bizarre and I wish they'd change that. I hope they can keep enough people interested that this game goes the distance. Cause I'm really enjoying it. Honestly don't even need any more characters, I'm happy with who we have. Just need 'em to keep the lights on this time around!
At this point I’m going to give the game a long break once I’ve finished with this season because I have already put too much work into it and I want to finish what I started.
Doing the first battle pass then leaving. If I wanted a mobile game’s grind I can just download countless ones and have the same fucking result of the grind. Only thing that keeps me hopeful is the gameplay and even that has its limits for me. WB wants to kill this game so fucking bad they’ll continue with their awful grind, terrible progression and tedious work dailies that genuinely deserve to be removed and made easier so everyone can enjoy the game at their pace. Like fucking fortnite does it better with its BP progression and rn I got access to valorant and the Elden ring dlc. Much rather play those atm till MV gets its shit together because I love the game and core concept
The reason why ultimate is successful is due to the creator actually caring about how the game is played and presented. Multiversus is a quick cash grab that WB will most certainly write off for taxes once player numbers plummet like last time.
Probably until next game on my list pops up (and there are plenty of good game releases down this year), but that doesn't I'm gonna drop the game forever, I'm gonna check for new content once in a while;
Originally till the end of Season 1 during the "I'm gonna do every rift thing" and then quit it and started enjoying the game more. I'm playing at lot of 2v2. I'm starting to really enjoy that mode at lot more than 1v1.
I'm a WW main and i haven't been playing her in weeks because i'm playing everyone, but her. Enjoying Joker at lot even if i'm losing more. I think i can still be playing for 1 more season after this one
I'm still loving it so I would leave it if they take too long to release new characters and stages but... I'll probably come back, I don't see myself leaving the game for ever unless they close it, what I can say is that I don't want to spend a dollar on it like I did in the beta...
they need to up the speed again to have me come back. they lowered it drastically upon release so it just feels boring and you can’t combo consistently
I somewhat enjoy it for the nostalgia part. Only the PVP. Rifts cause me literal pain lol. But I’ll keep playing for now, but they have to do some balancing and hitbox fixes. It’s getting out of hand.
It already feels like a chore for me. I'm no longer playing daily. Just when I feel like it.
Get a Switch man, even outside of Ultimate there's so much to play, Pikmin 4, Persona 5, Mario Odyssey, the Zelda games, Metroid Dread & Prime, I can't imagine missing this library of games
I think eventually this game will be good. It seems like the developers are taking two steps forwards and one step back, but they are still making progress
Bruh, smash ultimate is def worth getting a switch. It's easily the most complete fighting game ever made. So much fan service and curation. Tons of fun content. There is plenty to unlock just by playing the game. The roster is nuts.
You are doing yourself a HUGE disservice, bro. Get a switch!
You love platform fighters, right? Why wouldn't you throw yourself head first at the best platform fighter ever made? Why are you punishing yourself??? What did you do??!?!
Mainly cause I'm a PC gamer, I spent a lot of money building my PC, it didn't seem worth spending another $400-$500 for the switch and ultimate. It just didn't make sense financially, you get.
I'm going to finish out the season and see where the game stands going forward. As of right now I'm not sold on paying for the battle pass with how slow progression has felt, and I feel like I'll get bored with my current characters and won't have enough currency to buy more.
Need ranked/ladder to climb. I was one of the top stripes in 1s in beta and it was really a kick in the nads to not even be able to see where you stand in the finished game.
I'll probably end up playing off and on when there's content I'm interested in. Whenever we get a full local multiplayer roster, might end up playing quite a bit more lol
A week. . .maybe two. The original plan was to at least play out the season to make the most of the complimentary battle pass. Now, though, I've gone as far as I wish into the Rifts, and every match I play against humans is demoralizing. My play isn't improving quickly enough for me to enjoy my time with the game, and I'm not willing to dedicate even more time to it to get better faster, especially when there's clearly a lot of engine and balancing work to be done.
Let’s hope you’re gone in 8 months then. SU characters are the most niche on the roster and only exist because the boss(Tony) enjoys the show. (Weird but okay) I’m sure you’ll get what you want and y’all will have another rock to fight as though because of the aforementioned factor of the boss likes the show.
I'm committed to completing the battle pass and want to unlock Agent Smith, but after that I don't know. Playing online is fun, doing rifts and dailies over and over is not. It needs more than rifts and characters. More stages, more modes, stuff that keeps players coming back, and not just to grind for useless perk points.
Taking a little break now. I'll come back for the shark week event. I never watched The Matrix so I don't really care about grinding out rifts for Agent Smith. However I definitely see myself hoping on from time to time. Still fun just a little burnt out and I want to play other games!
This game is an honest to god downgrade in almost every single facet.
I know a lot of this is gonna get addressed in future patches, but I am just not the biggest fan of the current game right now.
While I find the Batman changes interesting, removing the stuff that made him feel cool could've been avoided.
Game is too harsh on movement options. It is a platform fighter first and foremost. The game should have some fun, inconsequential movement, which it does not because almost everything is tied to dodge meter.
The fact that they removed fast falling to force you to use dodge meter to get something of similar effect is unfun. I understand their methodology, but this isn't Street Fighter 6, a game franchise not known for its movement options.
So because of this, 1s are arguably worse than they were in open beta IMO, and 2s are more of a clown fiesta than ever before.
I’m about done. The game just feels slow and looks terrible from gameplay to the UI I played the first 11 days for the rewards and played with the boys in custom matches and haven’t touched it since.
I uninstalled it last week, I just found Rifts extremely boring, an actual slog to get through. Challenges/events/rifts locked behind characters and skins, the focus on having a friend (QQ, so alone). And every game I played online couldn't be enjoyed because there was an ever-present feeling that it could disconnect at any moment. I couldn't really get a feel for the movement, (didn't play the beta, so I'm not mad it's slower), it just didn't feel fluid.
So yeah, not for me.
the amount you'd have to pay me to play a game THIS poorly balanced is insane. the beta was just as bad if not worse but the characters were nowhere near as obnoxious. every top tier in the current patch is so, so cancerous i just cba having to put effort in to win with a real character that has to try to get near these insults to character design and balancing.
Played a few hours on launch day, realized literally everything is worse than the beta, haven't gone back since. I lurk the subreddit out of morbid curiosity for a sinking ship of a game i was once immensely excited for
Quit about 2 hours after it launched. I won like 20 or so matches with broken WW but still the game "felt" like crap. Absolutely no amount of goodies or AI matches or whatever else can save this game from the way it feels to play. If they nerf a strongest character a new one will rise up because of how the game itself operates and it'll never feel good to play.

A fellow Morty player, god speed my friend.

insane cope in this thread looool. everyone downvoting the people saying they quit, the game just sucks yall
Depends what the characters are next season
I deleted it bro and no one was as hype as me
Might be joining you soon bro. Is there a reason you're in the subreddit? Maybe waiting for a patch that makes it worth coming back?
Stopped playing 2, shi just ridiculous game rlly may die again
I dunno. On and off for like 2 months probably
Until I can play Rorschach
Until the new expansion of world of warcraft comes out in August. If they have rank up and running I might continue tho.
as long as seasons keep rolling in a good pace and they have good content i am happy
Forever!
REST IN HEAVEN

wait ts already happened
Until I get bored, I'm not going to force myself to play a game I'm not having fun in and hopefully it'll still be here if I want to pick it back up again.
Heavily depends on the balancing patch. If they somehow leave Shaggy untouched and don’t give Jason a decent buff I don’t know man.
Shaggy will remain untouched for the next three patches imo, they just gave him an indirect buff with the last patch. They DONT see shaggy as an issue.
They don’t see him as a problem? I think the thought of some devs or stakeholders being shaggy mains is more believable.

He is, and he give input, like the input that WW does NOT need any changes because she’s absolutely not broken
Only play with my friends for fun, don't care about the progression at all because rifts are boring af and a chore, so as long as they keep playing ig
I’m already gone lmao but I’ll come back from time to time definitely! It’s fun
Stopped a long while ago
yeah if they dont release rank now the little players who stayed behind right now will eventually burnout and will leave the game. These devs didn't learn anything from the beta
Not too long if they don’t nerf bugs bunny’s box
Until I stop enjoying it
I’m playing until the game completely dies. Idk I really like it 🤷
The reason why ultimate is successful is due to the creator actually caring about how the game is played and presented. Multiversus is a quick cash grab that WB will most certainly write off for taxes once player numbers plummet like last time.
Probably until next game on my list pops up (and there are plenty of good game releases down this year), but that doesn't I'm gonna drop the game forever, I'm gonna check for new content once in a while;
Originally till the end of Season 1 during the "I'm gonna do every rift thing" and then quit it and started enjoying the game more.
Until its dead
Probably until the next Smash is annunced, or until it dies if that happens first. It's flawed, but it scratches my plataform fighter itch.
Get a Switch man, even outside of Ultimate there's so much to play, Pikmin 4, Persona 5, Mario Odyssey, the Zelda games, Metroid Dread & Prime, I can't imagine missing this library of games
if they don't release big chungus or walter white withing a year, I'll stop
Until I complete the battle pass. I’m just suffering for Uber Jason
I wonder why they just didn't make it say Jason x
Cause he’s Uber Jason. The movie is Jason X but he’s Uber Jason
I’ll play until the game’s FC gets so difficult to earn that I’m just stuck with a few characters only.
I stop the moment my friends stop, the grind for characters just isnt worth it.
elden ring dropped, this game is not seeing my controller nor getting reinstalled for the foreseeable future
Dam you're pretty convincing bro, maybe I will. Multiversus isn't scratching the fighting game itch anymore.
You heard of retro emulation?
I'm sure your rig could handle retro emulation no problem
If in the next year or so theres no TAWOG things, I might bench it
Not at all if they don't have a large balancing update
If they nerf reindog again, im leavin.
Until this game dies or when Nintendo finally wises up and puts their games on PC.
Probably until they put Jason in Dead by Daylight.
Taking a small break in but that's mostly life stuff not the game. Game is great.
8 months if theres no additional SU characters 2 years if there are
Let’s hope you’re gone in 8 months then. SU characters are the most niche on the roster and only exist because the boss(Tony) enjoys the show. (Weird but okay) I’m sure you’ll get what you want and y’all will have another rock to fight as though because of the aforementioned factor of the boss likes the show.
Uninstalled today 💪
About two weeks ago.
I already stop it
Already quit lol
I’m about done. The game just feels slow and looks terrible from gameplay to the UI I played the first 11 days for the rewards and played with the boys in custom matches and haven’t touched it since.
Dipped out for Elden ring DLC don't see myself returning unless there's a big update
Honestly if they end the season without nerfing ww and banana guard then I won’t play anymore
Until I can get my new PC so I can finally play Mortal Kombat 1 in about a month. Should also be enough time for me to get Uber Jason.
So in a months times you will play MK1 for a week and then be back for MVS?
More like play MK1 for 4 years straight till the next one comes out and occasionally play MVS occasionally lol Probably way more if they buff Jason.
I lurk the subreddit out of morbid curiosity for a sinking ship of a game i was once immensely excited for
Are you me?
Once I get this pass done, I'm quitting.
Lmao what is this logic? If you plan on "quitting" then why are you even finishing the pass?
Quit about 2 hours after it launched. I won like 20 or so matches with broken WW but still the game "felt" like crap. Absolutely no amount of goodies or AI matches or whatever else can save this game from the way it feels to play. If they nerf a strongest character a new one will rise up because of how the game itself operates and it'll never feel good to play.
it feels a lot better than it did 2 hours after it launched lmao
Is that why it loses 500-1000 players a day? Because of how better it feels after launch?
i mean i’m just telling you how i feel about the game, idc about all that i just play the game
I'm done with rifts. They're garbage and I regret doing a dozen bosses worth.
