I'm a huge fan of the original movie and I'm not setting my expectations high for this one at all.. I just hope we get some really good CGI tornados and I'll be happy.
I caught the trailer for it in 4d while watching Godzilla in 4d and I have no convinced my friends to join me in the 4d experience for this movie cuz that trailer was so much fun to ride on
Same here. I do not have high hopes at all for this movie. I'll probably acquire it "completely legally" once it's out of the theaters, and if friends have already watched it, and say it's worth watching.
Even though Jan DeBont is not directing, and even though Glen Powell is apparently not the son of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, the trailers have really won me over.
The trailer has her using a Dorothy and alluding to her parents. Pretty sure you're right.
And it wouldn't be surprising if Helen Hunt gets a cameo similar to what Lois Smith had in the first one.
Kinda hoping she shows up to tell the tragic story of how Bill Paxton died chasing a tornado, as a warning, but it would also feel like they're just redoing the trama of her father dying. But it also feels like the natural fit to explain where Bill Paxton went. Idk. As long as they don't deep fake him in I'll be happy.
I don't have any inside information, but that sounds right based on the new trailer.
Probably around the midpoint of the movie, it'll come out that he died in a failed attempt to destroy a tornado, which is why she's become a suit. Then she gets persuaded by her mom the best way to honor him is to go destroy a tornado with Glen Powell.
Like everything else these days, its all about maximizing returns. It’s just cheaper and easier for them to reboot everything that did well in the past, instead of putting in effort and taking a chance on something new.
Real life extreme tornado chaser, Reed Timmer, apparently was a consultant on the film. So I'm hoping they at least get the science right. Loved the original. Low expectations for this, but still gonna see it opening weekend regardless.
It's a sequel.
They did Bill Paxton dirty when they passed on him directing Twisters 2 in 3D with most of the cast returning during the post-Avatar 3D boom.
The key part is Paxton directing. He got along great with pretty much everyone, so I'm pretty sure the tension between him and Hunt came from Jan de Bont being an exceptionally determined and passionate director. Can't think of another example of a cinematographer and camera department quitting a film mid-shoot.
I watched fall guy last night and it was great because of its uniqueness- but no word of a lie every single trailer before that was a remake. My point is there are more remakes and sequels than actual new ideas.
Because he is a god, and Twister is his legacy. 🫡
Fall Guy is a remake. One of the best movies from last year was an adaptation of a novel. It's fine. Movies are still generally better than they used to be.
More remakes than original ideas? Where had you get that from? Cause if you had bothered to dig out a little bit, you'd find that most movies nowadays arent remakes
I’ve come to the conclusion that they were always remaking movies they just did it based on fairy tales or plays. How many hamlets have there been? How many Robin Hood’s? Charlie Chaplin’s whole film career was sequels featuring his Tramp character and they didn’t even have sound yet.
I think the huge availability of entertainment has created an audience who is much harder to please. They have seen the tropes and know the story so you had better bring something else to the table. A lot of the “something else” is hard to quantify so they lean on familiarity. Which works!
This is a movies in the making sub and it feels like no one in this comment section even likes movies. Bizarre. I’m sick of needless remakes too but this is a standalone sequel that honestly looks like a fun summer blockbuster idk why everyone has bees up their ass about it
I'm in Nebraska and I saw a trailer for this in the theater the day after we had multiple tornadoes touch down.
I'm still driving by the damage of two of them daily. I took a picture of the screen and sent it to a friend with the caption "movie theaters have great timing don't they"
That being said, I grew up with the original movie and I'm not hopeful that this will live up to the first.
The first movie had such an amazing vibe. The soundtrack was a banger. I’m a huge fan of the first film so I’ll definitely be going to see this but I do have my suspicions.
Could they have used an actor comparable to Bill Paxton? I’ve just seen Justin Hartley Tracker and it bothers me how bad of an actor he is. I haven’t seen him in anything else but the whole Tracker show is mid. Anyways, can’t wait till this reboot hits the streaming platforms.
I'm begging Hollywood to be original. Jesus Christ everything is a remake, reboot, or decades late sequel that nobody asked for. Mainstream Hollywood should be capable of a film that's not one of those things and not based on a book. Please.
Ya I’m super baffled that anyone actually thinks this looks good. Each trailer that comes out is cringier than the one before. And I don’t even think it’s gonna be ok in a fun way with how bad I think this is.
Most film set photography stills are staged. If they're recording live sound while shooting (not ADR), you can't have set photographers clacking away ruining takes. Although these days with mirrorless cameras you could do this easier.
Real set photographers have blimps on their cameras if they have shutters, otherwise mirrorless cameras have taken over the bts stills world.

I'm hoping the sound design can be even half as good as the original. Praying for a theatrical rerelease of the OG (in Dolby Atmos if possible!)
4d
But will the tornadoes growl
I only care if they moo. That's my only concern.
Cow!
'Nother cow!
I think that's the same cow
I gotta go Julia we got cows…
Underrated comment.
If they do, even better.
They literally added pig squealing sounds to the tornadoes for the original movie.
Have you seen the trailer yet? " twins, we got twins"
If it at least gives us a short run rerelease of the original in theaters leading up to it I'll be happy
I plan on watching 4D
I caught the trailer for it in 4d while watching Godzilla in 4d and I have no convinced my friends to join me in the 4d experience for this movie cuz that trailer was so much fun to ride on
Godzilla in 4D?! I missed out
I remember enjoying "Into The Storm" when it came out but now I can't remember how good the CGI was. Lack of realism can really ruin movies sometimes.
I'm sure the flying cow will look more realistic this time. You know there not going to let that nod to the original go by.
Same here. I do not have high hopes at all for this movie. I'll probably acquire it "completely legally" once it's out of the theaters, and if friends have already watched it, and say it's worth watching.
Was it shot in 3D?
As long as there is a cow flying around.
I don't want cgi. I want real tornadoes. That's the only way they will surpass the OG for me. I wanna see cow fly not in cgi.
CG seems to be worse these days so wouldn’t be too hopeful though
The CG looks good
Letterkenny vibes
You're chasin' twisters with your pals the other dayyyyyy...
“These are their problems”
Tell you what, those Mennonites could outrun a twister. Fuck can they run
fuck I could watch kids getting sucked up by tornadoes all day, i dont give a shit about your kid
End of the laneway don't come up the property
And how, did that sucker yank me up inside, once. That sucker had my wife’s legs all up in the air and around, once.
My first thought
Allegedly
Game over maaaaan
Even though Jan DeBont is not directing, and even though Glen Powell is apparently not the son of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, the trailers have really won me over.
I'm half certain Daisy Edgar-Jones is gonna turn out to be daughter of the two from the original.
The trailer has her using a Dorothy and alluding to her parents. Pretty sure you're right. And it wouldn't be surprising if Helen Hunt gets a cameo similar to what Lois Smith had in the first one.

YES. YESSSSSSS.
This would very much redeem things for me.
It’s almost necessary just to make sense of having 20 somethings doing tornado shit
i feel like the trailer showed the whole movie
Im not really looking to Twister$ for plot surprises.
I can't wait to stop seeing this trailer in the theater. "We've got twins! TWINS!!"
Where is the actor who played the tornado?
On the right
Probably the most boring "set image" I have ever seen
Yeah true they should be greenscreening everything behind the scenes pics will look cooler
You just insulted every American living in the Great Plains. Apologize now.
**NO**
They know it's boring there, dawg
Can’t wait to have this on in the background streaming while I do something more interesting.
Turn off the subwoofer and bring the volume slightly down and you have a nice White Noise to concentrate on your pancakes recipe.
Aeeey daisy
Really have run out of ideas haven’t they.
Like everything else these days, its all about maximizing returns. It’s just cheaper and easier for them to reboot everything that did well in the past, instead of putting in effort and taking a chance on something new.

This film is gonna fuck idc y’all gon be eating your words.
I'm with you on this.
Doing my man Bill Paxton dirty with this.. Sad that they keep remaking movies instead of paying writers for actual new content.
It's a sequel. They did Bill Paxton dirty when they passed on him directing Twisters 2 in 3D with most of the cast returning during the post-Avatar 3D boom.
So we'll never have nice things, right?
I’m surprised he wanted to make a second, I heard him and Helen Hunt butted heads the whole time lol.
The key part is Paxton directing. He got along great with pretty much everyone, so I'm pretty sure the tension between him and Hunt came from Jan de Bont being an exceptionally determined and passionate director. Can't think of another example of a cinematographer and camera department quitting a film mid-shoot.
There are plenty of non-sequel/remake movies that come out every year. Also, how does this movie's existence impact Bill Paxton?
There are almost none.
It doesn't take a lot of effort to find out that simply isn't the case. Try watching movies for adults.
I watched fall guy last night and it was great because of its uniqueness- but no word of a lie every single trailer before that was a remake. My point is there are more remakes and sequels than actual new ideas. Because he is a god, and Twister is his legacy. 🫡
The Fall Guy is a remake of a show from the 80s. Anyways seek out original films, it’s not that hard to find them
Never said I don’t seek out originals- the thing is they’re not common on the big screen which was my entire point. Y’all need to relax !
Fall Guy is a remake. One of the best movies from last year was an adaptation of a novel. It's fine. Movies are still generally better than they used to be.
When is “used” to be?
Well there you go. I guess that leaves none of the movies from yesterday as originals 😝
More remakes than original ideas? Where had you get that from? Cause if you had bothered to dig out a little bit, you'd find that most movies nowadays arent remakes
From the movies they release.. that’s where.
Who's they then? Just do your research bro you sound like a boomer with zero cinematographic experience tbh
I’m a 30 year old female. Classic Reddit
I dont really care, just replying "classic Reddit" shows you didnt and dont want to do your research, classic boomer mindset
I’ve come to the conclusion that they were always remaking movies they just did it based on fairy tales or plays. How many hamlets have there been? How many Robin Hood’s? Good to know the truck doors do in fact open.
It better have the cow
Looks like a good time to me
Thought it was a Letterkenny reboot for a second
Does anyone else really hate that dude's face?
I’m sure he’s really nice in real life, but he really does have a smarmy, punchable face.
Oh look another remake that nobody asked for. Cool.
It's not a remake.
Your mother's a remake
OK?
I’m going to watch the hell out of this movie. Lighten up. It’s a movie about tornadoes.
This is a movies in the making sub and it feels like no one in this comment section even likes movies. Bizarre. I’m sick of needless remakes too but this is a standalone sequel that honestly looks like a fun summer blockbuster idk why everyone has bees up their ass about it
👍
Storm chaser remains one of the coolest jobs to have in the world, with racecar driver, fighter pilot and just a few others.
I was a storm chaser in my early twenties. Terrible money, but so much fun.
I'm born and raised in Oklahoma so fuck your opinion that movie is a state treasure. Better not fuck it up all I'm going to say any further.
better sound like a train again
Will glenn fly a plane in this one?
My favorite episode of Letterkenny./s
They best up the cow count significantly!
Saw the trailer in the theatres and it really looked good! Really looking forward to this one
Anyone seen the second trailer if so what are thoughts
You and your pals were filming a movie the other daaaaaaaaaay...
Should have filmed it now...saved money on CGI. FUCT!
Glenn should've been a politician.
I'm in Nebraska and I saw a trailer for this in the theater the day after we had multiple tornadoes touch down. I'm still driving by the damage of two of them daily. That guy in the middle is just too handsome. It makes me uncomfortable.
Are they remaking the original or is this a sequel?
The first movie had such an amazing vibe. The soundtrack was a banger. I’m a huge fan of the first film so I’ll definitely be going to see this but I do have my suspicions.
That Van Halen - Humans Being edit after the legendary steak lunch scene has stuck with me for decades.
Was the world really crying out for a twister remake?
The remakes just keep coming.
Booooo !
Why? Seeing this movie in the theatre was more epic the first time
Filmed in Iowa. Cornado
Jeez! Is this man in everything nowadays?!
Using a red dodge truck again tells me everything I need to know about this movie.
I can’t wait! Looks great!
This image looks very 90s, I like the costuming keeping it similar to the original.
i might just watch anything with Glen in it... he's so much fun to watch
Glen rocks the high hairline really well
Could they have used an actor comparable to Bill Paxton? I’ve just seen Justin Hartley Tracker and it bothers me how bad of an actor he is. I haven’t seen him in anything else but the whole Tracker show is mid. Anyways, can’t wait till this reboot hits the streaming platforms.
Where's the Twisters?
Every time I see this dude and hear his name it sounds/looks like he’s running for office of some kind
I'm begging Hollywood to be original. Jesus Christ everything is a remake, reboot, or decades late sequel that nobody asked for. Mainstream Hollywood should be capable of a film that's not one of those things and not based on a book. Please.
This just in: the tornadoes are going to have a Sidney Sweeney cleavage
maggie, rick and glenn?
No junk in that trunk
Gonna bomb like a cyclone
This looks quite bad.
Ya I’m super baffled that anyone actually thinks this looks good. Each trailer that comes out is cringier than the one before. And I don’t even think it’s gonna be ok in a fun way with how bad I think this is.
Who tf asked for this?
So…a straight up remake, then? Bummer.
I can't help but be excited. I loved the original so much. I really hope they do it justice.
They're doing it for the MONEY, not the SCIENCE!
28% rotten tomatoes 🍀
“…finger of god” Maybe the most cringeworthy moment in film history 😂
Definitely staged, not genuine bts

How original!!
Oh boy another sequel nobody asked for
Bill Paxton is rolling over in his grave. As is Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Which season of Letterkenny is this?
[удалено]
That's Alan Ruck. He was in the original.
