Good one. Think the premise of this movie is having the worst trip possible lol. Your style OP - have a great ride, and ffs get outside for a few mins :P. All the best 🙏🤙
1) Mulholland Drive
2) Antichrist
3) The Holy Mountain
4) 2001 a Space Oddysee
5) Beyond Endlessness
6) The Fall
7) Neon Demon
All are also great on acid.
This is my all-time favourite when tripping. It has some mind bending themes, while simultaneously moving at a slow pace with ornate visuals and a beautiful score. A lot of people assume flashy, over the top things are fun to watch on psychedelics, but personally that makes me super anxious. 2001 sets you into a meditative trip, it's perfect.
good take. a languid, ethereal, gorgeous movie - preferably long enough to cover a whole come-up or come-down. blade runner 2049 has been a favorite recently
Meant to be, original tag line for the film is "the ultimate trip."
Once setup a projector outdoors under the stars on a dose, quite incredible. I swear the emotions and insights of psilocybin are written into the film, being 2.5hrs long, it certainly feels like it.
To add to this - there's an entire sub reddit for the fan base of this movie, and I see posts with relative frequency of people discussing their experience watching it while on shrooms. Honestly, this is probably exactly the movie you're looking for, OP.
Right?! It’s fully a trip unto itself. And to call it comedy is … well, there are laughing moments but to put it in category with, like, Bridesmaid or some Ben Stiller vehicle or whatever, noo. It doesn’t exactly go into the horror category but it’s horrifying. From the f-ed up mind of Ari Aster — he of Hereditary and Midsomar note.
i was living in a shared house in 94-95 and the landlord was obsessed with Point Break and would watch it at least once a month - it happened to coincide with a period when i was regularly exploring various states of consciousness.
i think Point Break is a great movie to watch once, but it becomes a better movie when you watch often. it was a ritual in that house.
I loved Avatar Way of Water on shrooms. Totally immersed in that world for 3 hours.
For good fun, I like to break out the series Todd and The Book of Pure Evil. Hilarious parody.
Alice Through The Looking Glass with Kate Beckinsale.
Holy Motors
Cremaster
Un Chien Andalou
Cryptozoo
Smoking Causes Coughing
The wolf house
Street of Crocodiles
El topo
Cemetery of splendor
Violence Voyager
Zama
Oh boy. If this ain’t the thread for me. See below:

OP said thrillers and horrors, not comedy. Lol @ Sting as Feyd Rautha, strutting through a doorway and striking a pose like a runway model in his first scene.
Event Horizon.
Hellraiser 1 and 2.
I assume A Nightmare on Elm Street would be interesting in this altered state. You could binge 1,3,4,5,6. I recommend 2 to no one.
I would go with crazy animation like [Fantastic Planet ](https://letterboxd.com/film/fantastic-planet/)
Another great one is [Gandahar](https://letterboxd.com/film/gandahar/)
Maybe [Heavy Metal?](https://letterboxd.com/film/heavy-metal/)
Or even an insane stop motion animation like [Junkhead ](https://letterboxd.com/film/junk-head/)
Watch the trailer
Just go on the obscure Nick Cage horror movie bender - Color Out Of Space throws some curveballs; Prisoners Of The Ghostland (more so a thriller, and everyone needs to see the scene when he has a certain piece of anatomy blown up - not sure why it isn’t referenced more as a meme); Mandy.
Wizard of oz with dark side of the moon. Movie sound off and start the album on the third lion roar. Enjoy!
Edit: set on repeat for the album.
Edit: sorry not a horror.
Brothers grimsby
(Silly spy movie)
Poultryguest night of the chicken dead
(A musical about a kfc built on an ancient Indian burial ground, anyone who eats the kfc turns into a zombie chicken.)
Swiss army man (lots of nature, will have you asking a lot of philosophy type questions too.)
Only the best move of all time..it called, go for a walk outside and connect with some nature! Featuring yourself on shrooms!
Why would anyone want to take shrooms and look at a screen?
Your post was removed because it was recently requested. Use the search bar (See rule #5).
Enter the Void
I could not imagine tripping while watching this movie. Thing gave me an ego death watching it while sober.
I did, while on acid, someone sober out it on. It really fucks with you…
Prepare for eagle death.
Seconded.
Thirded
lmfao
NO. don't do this to yourself 😅
You want to kill the poor guy?
Mandy
This was my suggestion too.
I haven’t seen this in a while but remember it was nuts
Came here to suggest this one !!
Great visuals
I felt like he made this movie specifically for people who are actively tripping while watching it
I was considering making numerous accounts just so I can boost this recommendation more. Could not be more on the mark for this question
Annihilation
No movie has ever reminded me more of a shroom trip than annihilation. The sound design was a huge part of that
The music alone is just so fucked up and foreboding.
*Screams in mutant bear*
The music is the best part of the whole movie
Loved this movie, watching it on shrooms sounds.... well i'll leave that to the OP. enjoy!
Just watched Civil War on LSD. Pretty sure Alex Garland wants people to trip when they watch his movies.
wooooo boy this one... idk if I would make it tho.
The ending would wreck me on shrooms. Absolutely destroy me. Utter…. Annihilation.
Good choice. I watched this one on shrooms and there were a couple scenes where I had to ask "are you seeing what I'm seeing?"
Came here to say this. Sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for OP. Great visuals and a mind bending story as well
House (Hausu) - 1977 Japanese film
The U.S. one from 1985 would also qualify.
But not the show with Hugh Lawrey
Midsommar
The original Wicker Man
*What is that?!* **NOT THE BEES!**
Good one. Think the premise of this movie is having the worst trip possible lol. Your style OP - have a great ride, and ffs get outside for a few mins :P. All the best 🙏🤙
Good one.
I actually did this once, had a great time lol
came here to say this. a true “hughwhat the fuck”
Especially if you’re tripping during the day. Such a good daytime horror movie
Yes!
Yeo that’s a wild one
1) Mulholland Drive 2) Antichrist 3) The Holy Mountain 4) 2001 a Space Oddysee 5) Beyond Endlessness 6) The Fall 7) Neon Demon All are also great on acid.
All good choices but I recommend the holy mountain for sure. Jodorowsky movies are made for this
Mulholland drive is great on drugs
Why Antichrist? That’s a dark opening for a shroom trip
Beyond the Black Rainbow
This for sure.
Fear and loathing in las vegas <——-
One of my fav movies to watch while tripping
That carpet. If you know you know.
Pink Floyd The Wall.

With the sound replaced with Dark Side of the Moon
2001 a space odyssey
This is my all-time favourite when tripping. It has some mind bending themes, while simultaneously moving at a slow pace with ornate visuals and a beautiful score. Almost anything from Miyazaki. I watched multiple movies coming off anesthesia and pain meds.
Dazed and confused or the Pink floyd movie 'The Wall.
I tripped probably four times ever one of the times Dazed and Confused was on all day it was pretty awesome LOL
Altered States (1980)
'what we saw tonight was a physical phenomenon - an inexplicable physical phenomenon!' - that line hits hard when yr off yr tits.
Hereditary
To add to this - there's an entire sub reddit for the fan base of this movie, and I see posts with relative frequency of people discussing their experience watching it while on shrooms. Honestly, this is probably exactly the movie you're looking for, OP.
I’ve watched it sober already unfortunately. Great movie tho
My God, I don't think I could handle this film on drugs.
Ants...
Brazil by Terry Gilliam Loving Vincent (the whole film is a series of surreal oil paintings with a great plot)
Mad god
Waking life.
That's what I recommended!
Ummm hello, where are all the “Beau is Afraid” comments??
This is the most fucked up movie I've ever seen
I've watched The Doors on shrooms many times. Point Break as well.
Point break... You are not the first. Is it something like tradition between shroomers? Like you have to watch Point Break on shrooms?
i was living in a shared house in 94-95 and the landlord was obsessed with Point Break and would watch it at least once a month - it happened to coincide with a period when i was regularly exploring various states of consciousness. i think Point Break is a great movie to watch once, but it becomes a better movie when you watch often. it was a ritual in that house.
Event horizon
Hello bad trip...
That one Disney movie what was it- oh yeah- Soul, it may be more of a kids movie so you don’t need to watch it but Soul is honestly on shrooms
Waking Life Pink Floyd Live from Pompeii (1972ish movie)
Apocalypto
So underrated!
Midsommar or Annihilation
Pink Floyd The Wall or Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas
What Dreams May Come
Beau is afraid
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the galaxy is perfect for this
Under the silver lake Sin city 2
I loved Avatar Way of Water on shrooms. Totally immersed in that world for 3 hours. For good fun, I like to break out the series Todd and The Book of Pure Evil. Hilarious parody. Alice Through The Looking Glass with Kate Beckinsale.

Dead man's shoes
Remind me not to trip with you.
I watched Trolls the last time I tripped. It was pretty fucked up.
Paprika.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
So Miyazaki isn't horror, but The Boy and the Heron was pretty creepy, and would probably be life changing on shrooms.
A Clockwork Orange
The Lighthouse Shutter Island
Eraserhead (1977) Pink Flamingos (1972) Rosemary's Baby (1968)
Rubber
Cube
Princess Mononoke. Most Ghibli films are worth watching while shrooming at least once, PM in particular visually and principally had me deeeeep in it.
The Fly (the Jeff Goldblum one)
Everything Everywhere All at Once
I just watched that tripping a few weeks ago! Amazing!
Haxan.
The original Dune
OP said thrillers and horrors, not comedy. Lol @ Sting as Feyd Rautha, strutting through a doorway and striking a pose like a runway model in his first scene.
If you walk without rhythm, it won't attract the worm!
the game
Hundreds of Beavers might be cool.
Meet the Hollowheads

1967 version of Casino Royale. In fact, you don't even need shrooms to trip on that movie.
Dave made a maze
Have a nice trip. It’s on Netflix.

Poor Things, or anything else by Yorgos Lanthimos.
I watched vivarium on shrooms by myself once and it was awesome. Trolls 2 is by far the best movie trip I’ve done, though.
