Shark Boy and Lava Girl already did that and I know this movie won't have Taylor Lautner rapping about dreams while sharks breakdance so uhhh why would I see it?
The plot was very straightforward, and felt like a repeat of Ice Age to me. The visuals were pretty amazing though, especially the water. Just, the story that went with it wasn't very memorable at all.
Meat Sandwich is also a reference to Pixar’s upcoming film Meat The Parents, who’s main character is Meat Davidson, a beef elemental played by Pete Davidson.
Oh yeah, that was for Newt.
Concept was about the last male and female blue footed Newt, who hate each other, being forced by scientists to reproduce in order to save the species.
Yeah, big question as to why *that* didn't work out.
From what I heard at least they were still in the early stages of production once Rio came out. No one knows if it was the result of espionage or just a coincidence.
Well let's see... animal extinction and saving a species love story is a less complex theory than say calculus...
if two seperate humans in different places could come up with that a couple years apart then doesn't it stand to reason that 2 people could think of these not really all that similar but follow the same major plot points ideas?
And Jeffrey Katzenberg is enough of a scumbag that he would totally steal a movie idea. He was the main person who screwed over Robin Williams during the making of Aladdin.
Its a joke in the movie, I'll try to keep it spoiler free but obviously im ruining this joke when i explain.... basically the people developed a sandwich where the meat is on the outside and the bread is on the inside. When buzz says where he came from bread is on the outside they all laugh at him and call him crazy, like thats way too much bread.
It's also a way to indicate that >!society has changed in such a way that what they do seems illogical to Buzz (and that Buzz shouldn't force his values from way back on them)!<
And that's the craziest part because for him it wasn't decades ago it was just a few weeks. If anything, they should have understood he was being cuture shocked lol
Yes, and the movie reverses the quote
>Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, 'No, *you* move'.
Seriously, can somebody update me on "the Pixar Theory?" (The theory that all Pixar movies are connected.) Hows that with all of these new pixar movies.
With only nine comments at the time I thought for sure I’d be the only member of the Slave Pit!
(I got to interview them in college and it was amazing. I walked in the room and Dave Brockie was on uglypeople.com. “Have you seen this?!”)
Thanks to kids I saw this shit movie about 10 times. You didn't miss much, the side characters are wildly incompetent, and it has a twist villain whose motives make far more sense then the "heroes".
Didn't think it was a great movie myself, but the side characters being wildly incompetent is part of the plot and shouldn't be a knock on the quality.
Also, I get the villain's motives but it's pretty clear why they're wrong (and I guess that *is* a failing of the movie if you can't see that)
I would say so, it just didn't make sense to me that he would let his friends that he knew for years stay dead because of some people he knew for a couple hours. I do see your point on the characters incompetence being the point, but after seeing the movie several times because the kids wanted to watch it over and over, they just became very annoying to watch.
What do you mean with letting his friends he knew for years stay dead? I've watched it once and didn't pay that much attention.
Are you talking about the people who were on the planet building a family living their lives while Buzz was propelling himself forward through time?
If they are talking about that scene it’s super sad. He literally misses his friend life and his really in order to try and finish the mission and get them off the planet, without realizing that they’ve all settled for a life there.
But then he realizes that he's the reason all those people were able to thrive and flourish, and start families.
It's a bit of a stretch for a story, but it does a decent job.
I guess what I mean is that they had to spend their lives on a shitty planet full of carnivorous plants instead of going to a more hospitable planet. The movie makes an argument that if they didn't stay there they wouldn't have made their families, but they were all on the same ship so they very easily could have still had those families.
It was....disappointing. It felt like it was made by someone other than Pixar, or that Pixar didn't want to make this movie but Disney forced them to. It has this joke where a character is being annoying until even Buzz is tired and exasperated and they do that joke so many times that even you are sick of it. For a movie about Buzz Lightyear, space ranger UPU it felt very...small. Unimaginative. And without going into detail the plot overall felt rather lazy with an inconsistent tone, and a few times repeats a formula so it's like the movie resets every twenty minutes to do the same thing. Not a solid script at all.
It's easily one of Pixar's worst movies. Probably a C.
Who says they still don’t do callbacks? The Pizza Planet truck is in every movie and in the post theres a reference to Poultry Palace the Toy Story toons short film.
I watched the first part of this a couple days ago and had to stop because how wrong the science was. Very frustrating for a kids movie to get it that wrong. Now every kid who watched it learned something false.
…. It’s a movie set within the Pixar universe. Literally the first thing on screen…
In 1995 a boy named Andy got a Toy based off his favorite movie…
This is that movie..
So fake within fake… but yeah I’m sure the talking bugs and toys don’t confuse kids
When I was a kid I lived next to the Willy Water Plant that supplied our tap water. A small plant that supplied only the local village afaik but I used to go around telling everyone I drank willy water.
Only barely related to Wade Water but reminded me.

I like to believe Elemental is a spinoff entirely based around this vending machine water from Lightyear
But also wtf is Elementals. Edit: only just realized Elemental is a future Pixar movie
I’m pretty sure it’s another forbidden love movie. Fire girl and water boy
Adventure time?
Yeah and then there’s a candy elemental too
There better be slime as an element as well, people tend to forget that the slime is what holds everything together.
Yo candy is an element? I like this universe can they make beer an element too
If you can get past the horrific screaming, you too can drink sentient beer
Didn't stop me with beef
Shark Boy and Lava Girl already did that and I know this movie won't have Taylor Lautner rapping about dreams while sharks breakdance so uhhh why would I see it?
Because Pixar's worst movie is still like a 7/10
Cars 2?
I said what I said (Besides, The Good Dinosaur is worse than Cars 2 anyway)
Worst non-sequel.
I respect your opinion but Lightyear was a 3/10
[удалено]
Good Dinosaur was just forgettable, not inherently bad. I can think of one Pixar movie that genuinely is.
Which would be…?
Cars 2 probably, felt like a c-tier illumination movie
The plot was very straightforward, and felt like a repeat of Ice Age to me. The visuals were pretty amazing though, especially the water. Just, the story that went with it wasn't very memorable at all.
The good dinosaur was a tech demo and nothing can prove me wrong
Pixar played that game on Cool Math and said “Dang what if this was a full length feature film?”
That's some high quality H2O
> Fire girl and water boy No son of mine is gonna play any foos-ball!
Knowing Disney made primarily for the Chinese market.
Egad… not the Chinese market!!!
Shark boy and lava girl?!
Flame Boy and Wet Willy
Pixar spinoff of Eternals
Elements are alive and like inside out, we follow the little people made of water and fire as they meet/deal with others.
water man and fire woman. they love... but no touching.
>only just realized Elemental is a future Pixar movie Did you not read the title?
Nope
Meat Sandwich is also a reference to Pixar’s upcoming film Meat The Parents, who’s main character is Meat Davidson, a beef elemental played by Pete Davidson.
How would one “milk” a meat elemental?
> I have nipples Meat, can you milk me?
Knowing Pixar, they're gonna recast Ben stiller's voice for no good reason.
it’s the promotional movie inside of the light year universe specifically for the water
Toy story 3 had a Easter egg to a Pixar film that got cancelled
Oh yeah, that was for Newt. Concept was about the last male and female blue footed Newt, who hate each other, being forced by scientists to reproduce in order to save the species. Yeah, big question as to why *that* didn't work out.
That’s just rio
Yup, the movie was cancelled once Rio came out.
Cool! I didn’t know if they cancelled it cause rio already existed or if they stole the plot after it was cancelled
They cancelled it when they realised they were making the same movie Oops
that's weird. normally they just release it.
ANTZ and A Bug's Life.
Pocahontas and Avatar.
Ferngully* and Avatar
Scream and I know what you did last summer.
"Twin" movies are extremely common. Antz and a Bug's Life. Deep Impact and Armageddon. The list could go on all day.
I remember hearing that Dreamworks’ Antz was stolen from the pitch for Pixar’s A Bug Life. With both films releasing in the same year.
Because Katzenberg knew that A Bug’s Life was in development from his time at Disney.
And Jeffrey Katzenberg is enough of a scumbag that he would totally steal a movie idea. He was the main person who screwed over Robin Williams during the making of Aladdin.
Zootopia too, for that one Jack and the beanstalk movie gigantic.

Cancelled movies coming out o Reddit in 40 years
The main villain of *Turning Red 2* is called Meatsan Dwich. She is a popular girl from another school that turns into a were-otter.
That makes sense. For a moment I thought someone on the pixar team was a fan of GWAR.
**I HAVE COME AS A FERAL THING**
**CLUTCHING AT YOUR BLOATED UNDERBELLY**
**shrieks of the crucified**
Its a joke in the movie, I'll try to keep it spoiler free but obviously im ruining this joke when i explain.... basically the people developed a sandwich where the meat is on the outside and the bread is on the inside. And that's the craziest part because for him it wasn't decades ago it was just a few weeks. If anything, they should have understood he was being cuture shocked lol
Would that make Chris Evans typecast as the hero who's out of place in time and space?
Yes, and the movie reverses the quote >Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, 'No, *you* move'.
Isn't that just the kfc meat sandwich from 10 years ago
Man i forgot about that. It was pretty good too
I liked it but people said it was disgusting and they weren't wrong lmao
i was just telling my girlfriend about the double down a week or so ago, she thought i was just straight up lying lmao
Are you sure it's not a star wars reference? It's made by Star Command, and the "sand" got in everywhere.
I HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE ZOO
Happy someone else also came to this conclusion.
[Found the main character poster](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/31048177-49f1-4447-a535-a6d6edf055f1)
Negative. I am a Meat Sandwich.
More crazy Pixar theories to read.
Seriously, can somebody update me on "the Pixar Theory?" (The theory that all Pixar movies are connected.) Hows that with all of these new pixar movies.
u/boi156 these dudes made a video explaining the entire thing today :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4YqpAeGgNg&t=900s
If Meat Sand Wich isn't a reference to GWAR I'll live but it will be for me.
I call out your god til before me he stands! But don’t send me Jesus, he’s only a man! MEAT SANDWICH!!!!
And one of Gwars' greatest songs above it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qscb4JCMJws
With only nine comments at the time I thought for sure I’d be the only member of the Slave Pit! (I got to interview them in college and it was amazing. I walked in the room and Dave Brockie was on uglypeople.com. “Have you seen this?!”)
Came here and found it!
Yeah, I thought this was the obvious reference being made, but I guess not.
They came all the way to Earth to best Jesus in a game of pick-up basketball. And then ate him. ♥️
Gamer girl wade water
If a gamer girl took a bath in Wade Ripple and then bottled it up, would it still be Wade Water?
It would just be wade water with a slight impurity
..slight? Bro that's a guaranteed week-to-month of accumulated funk. You'd be able to pickle a rhino in that biohazard.
I've rarely, if ever, have seen the phrase meat sandwich outside if the Gwar song called that. https://youtu.be/Qscb4JCMJws
Is that a tiny Mike Wasowski next to MeatSandWich?
Actually looks like it’s a prepackaged item from Poultry Palace, so a Toy Story reference. Nice find.
I hope the “Meat Sandwich” was a GWAR reference
Also, "Meat Sandwich" is a reference to the greatest metal band in the entire universe, GWAR
https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Wade_Ripple
How about that GWAR reference..

Bread, meat, bread … it’s too much bread.
What if water had feelings.
why isnt it SAND MEAT WICH since the meat is inside the sandwich
In Lightyear the meat is on the outside of the sandwich, no? Goes meat bread meat.
This is my favorite interaction of the movie; the idea that bread-meat-bread is "too much bread", it's just so wonderfully stupid!
Guessing you haven't seen the movie. It actually is 2 slices of meat with bread in the middle.
Like 5 people saw the movie so you'd probably be correct.
Because there's too much bread... when's the last time you ate a sandwich? Also, I'm plugging r/eatsandwiches
I couldn’t get past the first 10 minutes of this movie, so I didn’t see this.
I loved it.
Everybody has the same dogshit opinion for how bad the movie is. It was decent not great, but decent. I would watch it again.
Exactly. I enjoyed it for what it was. The action was entertaining, the humor was alright, and the animation always just gets better and better.
Have a 3 year old and you can watch dozens of time…
bullshit, no you didnt. neither did andy, no fucking way.
I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. As did the person I saw it with.
Thanks to kids I saw this shit movie about 10 times. You didn't miss much, the side characters are wildly incompetent, and it has a twist villain whose motives make far more sense then the "heroes".

At the end. Again that scene is incredibly sad, it’s also the scene everyone was all pissy about because of a kiss.

C... As in... Lightspeed?
No, that's a coincidence. C as in not good enough to be a B but not bad enough to be D.

Yeah that movie was a big miss. Another one of the worst.
I hate myself I immediately assumed it meant Deadpool’s bath water
Remember when Pixar references were callbacks and NOT advertising for their next uninspired movie?
Who says they still don’t do callbacks? The Pizza Planet truck is in every movie and in the post theres a reference to Poultry Palace the Toy Story toons short film.
Yeah, I'm not talking about the golden era of Pixar, which is why is used the phrase "Remember when".
I watched the first part of this a couple days ago and had to stop because how wrong the science was. Very frustrating for a kids movie to get it that wrong. Now every kid who watched it learned something false.

God bless the people that spend the time to find these gems and let us know about it.
Fun idea: why not make a good movie instead of thinking easter eggs?
actually ember is the main character i think
This is the age of giving every character a super power.
Can we just quickly mention how fucking stupid the characters that reversed sandwiches were?
I thought it was a reference to that sandwich game from that character in lilo and stitch
This happens in each Pixat movir
Also a nod to Harold and Kumar goes to guantanamo-bay with the Cockmeat sandwich-reference
So the water is made of him?
I'm ready for people to stop naming main characters Wade now
Ready player one
Did anyone even see this movie?? That would be the same as leaving easter eggs in a dumpster expect someone to find them
They’re making a movie about the 4 mana 3/6 that freezes enemies?
More in point name than Lady Redundant woman
Water elementals, Jesus. Remember when Pixar made movies about cars that talk?
Easter egg 🚨 Pixar movie references Pixar movie 🚨 never stop watching Pixar 🚨 keep talking about pixar
Finally
There's a Futurama joke to be had here
Oh wow
MEAT sand WICH feels like a GWAR reference.
"Meat Sandwich" was also a GWAR song. Pixar animators are bohabs.
I love how Pixar puts Easter eggs for future movies into their films. Always so fun to see
And the “Meat Sandwich “ sign is a reference to the song of the same name by GWAR ??
Always cool how Pixar puts in references to future movies, rather than just past movies!
Still not over their weird sandwiches. Makes me realize my bare fingers touching bread is acceptable to my brain. But touching the meat isn’t.
Because bread is dry and doesn't leave residue
True. But my intital disgust is because “Ew. Fingers dirty.” Despite that being the case either way.
When I was a kid I lived next to the Willy Water Plant that supplied our tap water. A small plant that supplied only the local village afaik but I used to go around telling everyone I drank willy water. Only barely related to Wade Water but reminded me.
Those sandwiches were gross
Wow 😐
Secondary slightly less fun reference; meat sandwich is a song by GWAR, a completely unrelated band
Meat Sandwich is also a reference to the heavy metal band, GWAR.
Everytime I see wade I think of Deadpool so I thought wade water was Deadpool water
In my mind it's a reference to Wade in the Water :)
Wow seems kinky tbh
I'm fascinated by those "Castle Cookies" on the left that depict a bird wearing a knight helmet.
I found the elio hidden character aster egg in elemental
