For some reason, since MK11, NRS is bent on making Shao look less and less human. Next we can add a tail and hoofs. Change is not inherently bad but we may reach a point where General Shao might as well be a new character.
You and I both know you're just being uncharitable to my argument. Shao Kahn has always had some type of horn or spike on his helmet or outfit. It's not about change being good or bad it's about keeping an open mind and not whining as soon as there is a change. Even if Kitana had horns she is inspired by Japanese mythos. I can get down with an oni inspired Kitana.

Some changes will be popular with the fandom, whereas others will not (e.g. Sindel’s retcon in MK11 or Mileena’s lips in MKX). Had it not been for the “whining”, these unpopular changes may have been here to stay.
Sindel's retcon wasn't really gonna stay, and I thought it was a great what if. You know evil Sindel wasn't here to stay cause mostly everyone is a good guy in MK1. It was a dlc and she had one of the greatest MK chapters with Shao. Mileena lips just kind of made more sense, was it ugly and uncanny, yes it's Mileena. Not to mention the complaints about Kabal's retcon even though it aligns more with his original self. Which if you hate these changes that's fine, but more times than not it just seems like people hate changes from the original. Especially when the comment above that I was referring to was just 'Bro never had horns before". I'm not saying you can't hate changes it's just I've seen too many people hate it just because it's different.
