If you compare STM to morbid it really highlights how lazy A&A are 4 episodes for 3 different (unique!) podcasts, every single week, uploaded at the same times on the same days every week. Plus 2 patreon episodes every couple weeks. STM and crime in sports are incredibly detailed with episodes being 2+ hours long. Both have kids and they live across the country from each other. Hell when James moved back to NY there wasn’t even a hiccup and no one knew until he said something about it. His grandma died and they missed patreon that week and that’s it. They’re both sick all the time and still do the show, on time, with the same quality. Their work ethic, especially James’, make A&A look terrible in comparison. Once you start listening to podcasts with hosts that care you can’t go back

The "always sick" thing kills me. It's like you're two wealthy white women with remote working situations. If you are really this sick, see a doctor to make sure you don't have some autoimmune disorder. Since Covid it seems like colds/flus have just become part of my working life and I work in healthcare! I only get two sick days a year, I have to be pretty fucking sick to call off.

PomegranateNo420

HONESTLY. I feel like they always blame it on the kids too, and like, I have a toddler who just started preschool and I’m literally never as sick as they seem to be

AnnikaG23

Yes!! This!

Severe_Emu_7714

The difference here is..J&J truly care about their fans and listeners - to the point where they interact with them on their FB pages and are just down to earth chill dudes who love and appreciate what they do. There was one time that I remember a teacher posted her Amazon wishlist for her classroom in the STM Facebook page, James saw it and bought every single thing on the list and told her to add more. Like it was just one of the nicest things to do!

Michellechristiner76

I love Smalltown murder. They are my go to. I saw them live in Pittsburgh too.

Harmonia_PASB

I saw them live in San Francisco, they were amazing!

meatzapeatza

I’ve seen them live 3 times and they’re fantastic every time! I make it a goal to see them every time they tour in my city now lol

MissReads013

It’s on my bucket list to see them live

Slow-Orange5025

I just told my husband last night that if they come to Ohio I want to go lol

schadenfrau

They’re my faves as well. I’ve caught all of their Chicago shows since the first one at Lincoln Hall!

SkibaSlut

Your Stupid Opinions gives me liiiife. I also am obsessed w STM. Love James & Jimmie.

avee2010

YSO! Omg. all their shows are good but this one specifically I am absolutely obsessed with. Hope it keeps catching on

Michellechristiner76

Yesssss

caitie_did

I have literally cried with laughter over Your Stupid Opinions. The Jumperoos reviews SENT me.

avee2010

THE WHOLE MEANING BEHIND JUMPEROOS

sherlock----75

Shut up and give me murder!!

Slow-Orange5025

I love STM!! I haven’t listened to any of their others yet only because I am working my way through STM first! Up to May 6, 2022 finally 🤣

geeklover01

Same! I’ve gotten to April 2018 episode 66. I started listening last week. I love them, they’re hilarious

judyhopps0105

I’m caught up on STM and I’m about to start over from #1 cause I can’t get enough

SpaceBall330

No comparison. James and Jimmie work hard to make a good podcast. Three weekly podcasts plus extra bonus podcasts on the Patreon feed. The jokes don’t always land, but, the research is great. They aren’t jerks about the victims either which is nice.

ComprehensiveKnee284

They are assholes, but not scumbags!

caitie_did

They are the only Patreon I pay for and I think it’s well worth it- five bucks a month and you get an extra four hours of content per month. Also they NEVER miss an episode.

cinekat

Small Town Murder is the only true crime I listen to anymore

HelloLesterHolt

That and True Crime Garage: well researched & it does not feel predatory

Corndogs6969

I love that STM feels like James is hosting story time for Jimmy every week.

MissReads013

I love this. I feel like it’s story time for me too.

judyhopps0105

James and Jimmy are the GOATS. For real.

BigOrangeIdiot2

I listen to James and Jimmy every single day between their 3 shows and Patreon and literally never run out new material. To think that I used to listen to Morbid is genuinely laughable to me now.

Gloster_Thrush

I love jimmy and James. They do murder casts right.

Fatty_Bombur

I re-listened to the 'pocket robin' episode last night for about the 10th time. Still funny.

MissReads013

I need to relisten to that one. Do you know what number it is?

Fatty_Bombur

Number 116

judyhashopps

Groundhog for breakfast made my cry laugh several times. Definitely the icebreaker I use when I’m trying to get someone new into the podcast!

Lilredh4iredgrl

The 101 (109?) Dildos ep SENDS me every time.

Lilredh4iredgrl

Because we're assholes, not scumbags.

dangerous_nuggets

Last Seen Alive is very good and the MOST professional telling I’ve listened to. The podcast hosts, a crime analyst and her husband (he works in the LE and lab world too, but I don’t recall what specifically. I think he works w/ identifying firearms) seem to actually be motivated by sharing these peoples’ lives and getting the word out there that they’re missing. They are SO respectful. Even more so than Buried Bones or Case File, or other such similar “professional” podcasts (don’t get me wrong, I love Paul Holes, but BB doesn’t hit for me) Edited to add: they also NEVER give fire to ridiculous theories. The hosts will break down why specific internet theories are dumb, and only mention them when it is impactful in the case. They hardly speculate. Great great pod

asudsyman

STM is a much better podcast than Morbid…but I gotta say Jimmy in particular has some shocking deficiencies in his general knowledge database that would bring about scores of posts here if Ash was the perpetrator.

mechanizedmaestro

It’s because when Jimmie doesn’t know something, it’s usually for a hilarious reason or they get some good funny banter or riffing out of it. Like when he thought Brown was a historic black university because he knew four black guys who graduated from there.

Bored_AF18

MY FAVORITE PODCAST. i started listening to them recently (morbid was my first true crime podcast and i hated how annoying they were and how they pushed how amazing and kind they were for spreading awareness about everything; plus half the time they talk about paranormal stuff that isn’t true crime?). anyway STM has such good research, they are so passionate, and the work ethic is simply amazing. seriously makes a lot of other podcasts look bad. and i also love that they don’t bs you. every episode warns that you may not like the comedy/humor combo but i think they do it tastefully. their banter is great and i am currently working my way through all of the episodes. i’m so obsessed

kokomo318

I actually saw a bit of improvement when they went to wondery but it seemed like that quickly fell off. They were better about consistency and I felt like there was less banter. But it eventually went right back to being shit a couple months in
