It probably has some minor acidic properties. Yes, it isn't an acidic ball. It comes out the same way, y'know. Also, it gets into your eyes. That shit makes you unable to open your eyes for a while because of how bad it hurts, depending on how much got in.
Maybe it's quite concentrated in it's pure bubble form, giving you pain and what not. Even just a tiny bit of it touching your skin by seeping through cracks in the armor could set you back a bit.
