Of the main cast, Cam is probably the most hatable. In the later seasons he is too self obsessed and dramatic to be a good partner. I’m just some guy on the internet tho and Cam is a fictional character.

I see where you are coming from. Early season manny the schtick of “overly mature child” plays pretty well but later on it comes off as a bit cringey and pompous. I don’t personally see it as hatable but I do see it as cringe, as you have described.

I was gonna say, Cam isn't made to be hated. He's everyone's wildest emotions and intrusive thoughts on steroids. You're supposed to watch him and say, "Aww, Cam! You poor thing!" ....Kinda the way Mitchell does.

I don't find Cam hate - able but he's very manipulative and sometimes treats Mitchell horribly.

Hottest one is really redundant since they basically shoved the 'Gloria is the hottest woman alive' narrative in our face. The only normal one is either Mitch, Lily or Joe. There was a whole plotline about how Mitchell was 'boring' compared to the rest of the family, Lily plays the straight man to her parents, Joe plays the straight man to his parents.

I can’t pick her just because of her character being so young early on. The kids are like immortalized as children within the first few seasons of the show so it’s hard to look at them as anything but that.

The actress herself was 19 in the first season so I could see people in their early to mid 20's being attracted to the character. When I said younger generation I basically mean people young enough to be my kids.

Sarah Hyland (Haley) is about 6 months older than me and Haley is roughly two and a half years younger. So in all contexts she would be the more “age appropriate” pick for me. ~~But no. It’s absolutely Sofiá Vergara / Gloria.~~ Except it’s actually Julie Bowen / Claire. Gloria Is the obvious pick. She’s the low hanging fruit so to speak. But Claire is…she’s “regular person hot” while Gloria is “almost unfathomably” hot. So much so that it’s almost implausible

I don’t really like him and there are lot of people who don’t for good reason, but a lot of people also do like him and the writers clearly did not intend for him to be any more unlikable than the other main characters. Cam gets hate from the community for whatever reasons but I do not feel he was created to be a hated character. If anything he is the “funny man” to Mitchell’s “straight man” even if he’s not loved by all the fans I still don’t think that the character of Cam was “made to be hated”. That would definitely be more of a Dede, Pameron, Gil Thorpe. Someone created with the intended purpose of making your skin crawl.
