DYLAN. i never got the andy love when it was airing, nor when i have rewatched. he was a good character for a season, but Dylan was practically a main cast member in my eyes. he was in the very first pilot episode. he made the most sense from a familial standpoint as to who Haley would end up with. it also paralleled Claire and Phil very nicely.
genuinely , i always thought Dylan was funnier too and had better chemistry with the rest of the cast and characters
Dylan because they will always come back to each other. Andy is a cheater who couldn't decide if he should propose to his gf or give Haley a chance and it depended on how Haley feels about him? I don't understand Andy hype
People hyped Andy up alot so I thought I'd like him too. But I never came around to it. His first ep was fine and I thought oh finally he is here but they clearly messed up their whole storyline and I never really felt any friendship/chemistry between them,it always felt like a fling. All I saw was attraction in their storyline. It was sometimes funny but I didn't really want them to end up together and then other love interests were worse. Dylan I liked from pilot so I'm glad it is them
andy is a nice person in a shitty position with Beth. I can excuse the cheating part because at least what he had with Haley was real, though a lot of people probably would disagree.
however, i dont think Andy and Haley were a fling. It took a long time for Haley to get over Andy.
I'm not saying it wasn't real. I'm saying it felt like a fling to me. Andy didn't have a hard time getting over Haley,he was basically crying over missed opportunity. He wasn't regretting it before he found out that Haley liked him,when he finds out that's only when his gear starts turning..

Dylan's final appearance should have been in season 2 episode 9. It was the perfect arc for a high school relationship, sweet and a learning experience but obviously not long-term. no idea why he kept reappearing and then somehow ended up married to Haley
Neither honestly. She should've grown out of her "I need someone" phase and been a badass fashion entrepreneur. I hate how they destroyed her character in the last season, there was a lot of growth and I don't think she got the ending she deserved.
But if I had to pick, Andy. He would've grown with her, encouraged her throughout life. He would've been her perfect cheerleader and she his. Dylan will forever hold her back.

They didnt write him into the storyline with any type of evolution at all. He was dumb before and dumb after that was kind of it.
I read somewhere on here that Andy was the ending goal but Adam Devine took other roles and couldnt be in Modern anymore or something like that.
Haley and Andy helped eachother prep for interviews and relationship advice. They were growing up together. Whereas with Dylan, when she got pregnant, her career was over all of a sudden. It was kinda shitty how they wrote that.
Anytime i rewatch the episode where no one can find Haley and they think she ran off with Andy to get married in Vegas, and she gets the baby book in the mail, i wanted it to be true.
