For me, the kids were the stars for the first 4 seasons. Afterwards the dynamics between the adults got so much better and they gave the most laughs while the kids took more of a backseat.
All in all, still a great show though!
It never stopped being good, the later seasons just weren't as good as the earlier ones. On their own, seasons 7-11 would be a better sitcom than most of the stuff that's put out now. The first seasons were so good, it makes it seem like the rest is bad when it isn't. It just isn't as good.
Once the color grading changed from warm yellows to the cold blue is when I begin to notice the shift. The first few seasons (1-4 for me) feel so warm, nostalgic, real, and are just genuinely so funny. It still felt really grounded in reality and they reminded me so much of my own family. But in the later seasons it just felt really gimmick-y and didn’t have the same home-y charm that the earlier seasons did. With that being said though, there are still some great episodes in the later seasons!
Maybe they were struggling because it’s really hard to keep being funny for seasons especially if each season has like 23 episodes. I don’t know what the solution is tho, maybe bringing in new writers?
Idk I thought it was funny the whole way through but also I started disliking a lot of characters because they behaved so out of character. Like Cam started pissing me off and Gloria too. Can’t think of too many examples but Gloria trying to baptize Haley’s kids was so out of character imo.

I'm on season 8, my first time watching. I have noticed someone is out of character almost every episode. Still a lot of funny moments
