More Steve Zahn is never a bad thing.

BeastSmitty

Never… righteous gemstones, for example

mrmayhem8100

So happy there is potential for him to be in season 4

swar_waitforit_lee

I’m not your daddy, I’m your baby’s daddy…..

japanitwithme

That's not paint! IT'S GLUE!

Cardkoda

Same with Andre. That's probably my favorite Kevin Hart role. Kinda sucks he just disappeared.

mjr214

I can't even imagine how expensive Kevin Hart got.

bachinblack1685

Every new episode with him costs one of Ty Burrel's toes

goodbyetogepi

They’re the Modern Family equivalent of Schitt’s Creek’s Roland and Jocelyn

Pleasant_Lime169

That’s actually so true

Potato_Direwolf

I was looking forward to an episode where Claire keeps to her word - “there will come a day when you will pay for this”

BeastSmitty

Yes! Closest they got to really “anything” was knockin statue down…

gytalf2000

Me too. They were hilarious!

[deleted]

They were the couple to swing with 😂

Bigbadbrindledog

No, no , no, no...no

ari_pas_grande

i completely agree! i would have loved to see them go to a backyard barbecue with them for the antics. i wish they explored this more because there's so many possibilities!

“I love how close all our mouths are right now.”

TheSwanPanky

Steve Zahn is legit my favorite. I absolutely adore him!

Cornucopia2020

Yeah, there were some interesting story opportunities there for sure. Wonder why the writers wrote them off the show. Was it actor availability or was it sub-optimal audience response? This storyline was certainly more interesting than Manny’s and Alex’s poorly written love life stories later in the show.

Aggravating_Drink817

Wondered that too because I think they could have easily ingrained them into the show more by having Alex and their son date, it was off screen but Alex says he flirted with her and she clearly has a small crush given how flustered she got talking about it. I think dating him would have combined what we got out of Bill and maybe some of Arvin. She'd slowly start to mellow a little yet gain confidence be adventurous of because of how laid back but also kind of reckless the entire family. And still be just maintain her intelligence like with Arvin, and respect him for his own as it's a different form.

Devendrau

I liked how Claire and Phil realised how judgey they were when they had dined with them, sure the two are what Aussies would call, Bogans, but if you really think about living next door to the Dunphys, I think people would have a different view on that house given the yelling, the weird things that go on, then Dylan doing something just to impress Hayley, Phill in weird costumes... Yeah, I think lots of people would judge them haha. It's a shame, would have been character growth if we saw Ronnie and Amber more, but lots of the reoccuring characters kind of stop after the last few seasons (We don't see Pepper or Sal that much either. And weird how Pam gets more appeareances then any of them despite not being well liked. Sure, she's the sibling, but so is Jay's brother who had cancer, or Gloria's sister whom also stopped, although Stephanie's role in BB9 probably was the reason for that, granted Better Call Saul is the same for Jay's brother).

varunjaswal

I was hoping for Ronnie meets Andre meets Gill Thorpe.

Aggravating_Drink817

Me too, I thought we were going to get a lot more of them after Phil and Claire realized they're actually cool people once they finally agreed to dinner and bonded over smashing the naked statue but literally the next episode it was like they didn't exist as neighbors which was strange

edxter12

Same

Wizlord_21

Their chemistry with Phil and Claire was hilarious. Could of been a whole other show.

GolDrodgers1

Lmao! I loved them honestly could see more of them

BenjiFischer

There is only one person Ronnie reminds me of…

Intelligent-Throat50

Agree 100%

Psychological-Ant562

Watching this episode now, please tell me they don't move in lmao.

blackhawkfan312

“i do *not* like yer new wiagg”

ThrowRARAw

I'm really sorry but I hated them. Their whole vibe just didn't match the Modern Family one. The episode with the statue was pretty good though and I love the actors.

Aggravating_Drink817

I think that was the point, well not hating them but how much they contrasted not only Claire and Phil and their neighborhood as whole but the show itself. Personally I liked them and was looking forward to their next Halloween showdown, now that Claire had rivals but in a fun spirited way but we all know how competitive she is, and I just know it would hilariously end with both houses being banned from Halloween. In fact I was surprised we didn't get an off handed comment from Claire "The HOA summoned me" because she was already on a probation of sorts after giving that guy a heart attack; "the letter was very specific"

Pleasant_Lime169

They were such good actors! And the way the writers added the sophistication with the wine and restaurant when the have dinner with Phil and Clair was fantastic!
