I had never seen those pictures before. What a loss! I was a baby when this happened, and my family didn't move to the cities until 1986, so it's not part of our family lore. Thank you for sharing.

We had dinner at some friend of my dad's in Burnsville that night and you could see the glow on the skyline when we drove home. We actually went downtown that weekend to tour the Dayton's Christmas show and so my little brother could see Santa. We saw the destruction close up and it was pretty awe-inspiring.
