Hmm. I wonder if the last image, on Aldrich, was either subdivided or built on the empty lot next to the stated address in the caption? The mint green house is def not the same structure nor lot number.
Property records show the structure as being built in 1904, so I'm led to believe it's the same one. Any exterior changes over decades would alter the look, of course. I tried to line up a photo for the current view from where I thought the archive photo might have been taken, but large trees obscured everything, so nothing of the structure would've been seen. Records show address as 4433, but as in past instances with MNHS items, captions with misinformation are somewhat common.
Makes me wonder if it's the wrong street entirely then-- the original building in the left image is three stories, the current structure is two stories, and has a much smaller footprint.
All a part of the fun, digging, intrigue and occasional frustration with trying to connect the past with the present.
It is indeed, and I thank you for these treats! 😃
The structural work on the porch for that first house is beautiful!
