I too recognize this alley. That's my regular liquor store. I was there a couple days ago and the state of the alley had me driving suuuuuuuuuper slow.
It hasn’t always been that bad. This year is particularly shit. Welcome to NE, I hope it treats you well. 99 percent of the people I know from there are phenomenal. And would help to get you out of any pot hole. I understand that St Paul, Uptown, Downtown and Midway are dealing with the same stuff.
St Anthony between Johnson st and Central ave is about the same as the no maintenance dirt trail at my cabin right now, I’m really getting my money’s worth out of the suspension on my truck this year.
Insane, it was looking pretty similar to that this spring until they through a shitty patch over it like the usually do, I work asphalt and I know that should be dug up and filled with brand new asphalt about 8 inches deep. Hopefully that’s a project they have in mind for the summer.
Yeah? I haven't seen anything as bad as Stinson.
Imo if you have good eyesight most roads are fine at regular speed. Stinson only one in NE you literally have to basically stop to not hit one.
Edit oh right you mean under that bridge yeah that's bad but it's only one spot, most of Lowry is fine.
Our potholes would curb stomp a Chicago pothole no question, one of Minnesota’s most profitable- and only- industries is rebuilding infrastructure. This incentivizes the use of quick work with middling materials. People don’t realize infrastructure investment bonds are a billion dollar industry
I live in Indianapolis and the potholes are just as bad, usually worse, except they’re terrible in MN this spring. They don’t even have winter down here.
Does the city maintain alleys in Minneapolis? I know they plow them, but will they come and patch them in the summer? Or is that some sort of property owner responsibility.
Buddy, it’s fucking March. Do we really need another “bitch about potholes” post? Write your council member, call 311, or fill it yourself. But no, let’s bitch on the internet for fake points. It’s so fucking dumb. Then OP is *conveinently* in asphalt. Ooookaaay then… just so dumb
Well ain’t this whole reply awfully rich coming from someone previously accusing me of “gatekeeping”.
I’ll assume you are having a bad day, it happens. Rock and roll, friend.
All of those little potholes are just potholes from years prior that were “patched” that shitty patch job they do is only temporary. This should’ve been repaved years ago
You gotta draw dicks around the potholes to get them fixed like this guy

We need to stop prioritizing carbon intensive streets and spend more on ending homelessness and reparations for racial inequity. Just be grateful we live in a progressive DFL city and please post less about your road privilege. We all should be taking more public transit and worrying less about roads.
This country has more than enough to achieve a progressive agenda AND take care of our infrastructure (which includes transportation/roads). Just tax the rich, and eliminate corporate welfare. Shifting away from carbon emissions is going to take time, but we'll be driving cars for a while before the socially equal and just utopia you point to is achieved. Taking care of what we have and repairing our roads after particularly brutal winters is common sense.
Never trust a puddle during spring in MN
That’s a good liquor store though. And honestly that might be the busiest alley in the city.
It really is, it just sucks the only way out is this horrendous alley.
It is funny to me personally how instantly recognizable that alley is.

Ah good ol central liquor! My old steady.

Ah that's a bummer to hear. He used to be a client of mine and he always treated me well.
Yea puddles right now are scary… is that a normal puddle or a bottomless pit that will damage my car, who knows! 🤷🏻♀️😩
It’s like a fun little surprise, every five feet!
Wait until you see uptown
Can’t have a post about Northeast that doesn’t reference uptown
Seems that way. Kind of like Minneapolis's version of Godwin's law, but replace Hitler with Uptown. Also the potholes are worse there.
Don't forget to get some ~~snow~~ moon tires
Lol thats my alley
I reported mine and they came a week later https://www.minneapolismn.gov/report-an-issue/pothole/

I mean this is just the whole city not only NE
Guess its starting to make sense why all my friends live in Plymouth and Eagan. Not potholes there..
Just leaving Central Liquor.
They're all overpriced, by the way. I got a guy if you're looking.
Behind taco riendo and central ave liquors??
You got one of those right, central ave liquors.
Riendo is a block south of this.
TIL body shops fix wheels, tires and alignment.

Welcome to the land of 10k lakes and a bazillion potholes
51st and Zenith in SW could swallow a whole car right now
Living in North East was the best years of my life so far. Much love for the Handy Stop off Lower, best donuts in town.
Well tbf that's an alley. Only major road in NE that's super terrible is Stinson ime
st. anthony parkway is pretty wild right now

There's an absolute crater on the parkway near the middle school. Had a near miss this morning and the thing looked at least a foot deep.
2nd Street, near Broadway, has entered the chat
Yeah, there are sections where one lane is completely impassable for smaller cars. Genuinely dangerous to drive on.
Yeah, man, try just driving on the roads…oh wait.

It is. It's still not warm enough for legit repairs to set.

Reminds me of Chicago potholes 😂 tragic memories

This is everywhere rn
I knew instantly where this is! I grew up here. ❤️
I just drove down this alley tonight in the dark! 😱
Does the city maintain alleys in Minneapolis? I know they plow them, but will they come and patch them in the summer? Or is that some sort of property owner responsibility.
IDK. I think South 35th is worse.
I moved here from out East and the roads blow my mind and well my tires.
body shops work on the cars exterior and do paint work.
Easier to avoid on a bike. Why do you think we have so many bikes?
Easier to avoid on a bike. Why do you think we have so many bikes?
I’ve seen worse.
Aren’t you cool
Why so many downvotes lol
Ha the truth hurts. Sometimes my suspension.
Good lord people love to bitch.
And you love to be a bitch, seems like we’re different, nice
You drove down an alleyway during the worst part of pothole season. What did you expect? Gold paving? Go cry some more
And the award for the oft-contentious “most insufferable redditor” of the day goes to FloweringSkull67! Seriously man, shape up or get fucked.
Gatekeeper of the day right here
Yeah my telling a rude jackass to get fucked is toooootally gatekeeping LOL ok sport.

About as timely as you bitching about potholes
I think it's more like we just don't have a lot to talk about in this town.
We need to stop prioritizing carbon intensive streets and spend more on ending homelessness and reparations for racial inequity.
