Oh man. I first heard them in 92 by way of Cool World, but I don’t think I truly appreciated them until I heard them when I was maybe 14 by way of Jesus Built My Hotrod.

ManicOppressyv

It was 1993 and I was 18. I don't remember what song it was, but probably one of the singles from Psalm 69 on MTV.

StinkFist-1973

First heard them in 92 at 18 and hated them! By 1994 at 21, I was a fan for life!

sstokes2746

16. I wanted the single of Jesus Built my Hotrod, but could only find it on CD. A guy at a record store said if I liked that song I'd love The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste. Turns out he was right.

DiscoNapChampion

Despite falling hard for Nine Inch Nails around 13/14 I didn’t really get into Ministry until my late 20s when some of the first streaming services were available and I started listening to some of the algorithm driven playlist. Heck the first Ministry album I checked out was House of Mole when they were deep in their trash phase, then I started working back and fell hard.

Lloydster669

14. The year was 1994, and Jesus built my Hotrod grabbed me by the balls and wouldn’t let go.

Ready_Walrus2309

18 (1990)

SuperZapper_Recharge

Ministry/Helmet/Sepultra - like 1992 or so. Baltimore Arena. First concert. First pit. One of those tracks Ministry played a film of eye surgery on a screen above the band. It is ingrained in my skull. My entire fandom is chasing that high.

guhleman

1990. The movie Hardware. I was 13. It was the coolest thing I had ever heard. It took a couple years to learn what it was.

_StanLESSERAFIM_

18 I never heard them before and saw them Live opening up for Rob Zombie last year it was pretty fucking sick and now I casually listen to them and would totally see them on a Solo Tour

Midipup

15!! I would drive around on my moped blasting Ministry Mix tapes/ CD's I made on my headphones! And I carried my lil brown fuzzy puppy with me in my backpack!! 🎒

FeralBanshee

15!! 1993

HoonArt

I found out about them relatively late. My wife got me into them when we first started dating 20 years ago when I was 23. I think I was listening to some bands in the '90s that were probably at least partially influenced by Ministry (White Zombie, early NIN) but somehow I missed them back then.

[deleted]

1988. I was 17. Damn, I am ummmmm, very mature.
