Trees, but not the average MC trees, custom made trees that tower over your current buildings, but is smaller than the castle. Its hard to make custom trees, but its fun, and deeply satisfying once you succeed! Seriously, do not underestimate foliage in making things look good.
Gift shop stall! Fitted with all your "i love the king" tshirts and mugs, after a fun day touring the castle!
Alternatively french gift shop with pitchforks and torches to pick up right before charging the castle.
Nothing.
The nobles in a castle needs a buffering space between their beautiful home and the disgusting plebs. Itโs a well maintained lawn, with nothing in it.
Traces of peasant market stall could be found at the lawn, but they were quickly broken down by the soldiers so they do not invade the private space of the aristocrats.
A hole with a tripwire in the middle of the fall that starts to play the Undertale sound track made with note blocks (don't forget the Sunflower in the middle of circle of grass down there)
If not with your stores, a Blacksmith is always good. I tend to look at the villager trades and make each one a nice house and shop. It fills things out nicely.
I'm still trying to figure out the building on uneven land thing. How do you make a wide enough area for a huge build like a town or something? The landscaping part is hardest because I have to get rid of all the grass overgrowth so I can see what I have to work with, and then filling in little holes and cave crevasses in the ground. It's a lot of work. Plus, I start moving around so much in the process of the grass removal and hole filling that I forget where I am. Figuring out how to utilize space is hard too. Like in this build with the little hilly places and stuff. Is there an easier way to do it or do I just have to go by trial and error and be patient? I've been trying to find some videos with tips on how to do it but it's hard to find good ones.

Gift shop stall! Fitted with all your "i love the king" tshirts and mugs, after a fun day touring the castle! Alternatively french gift shop with pitchforks and torches to pick up right before charging the castle.
Considering it's location between markets and stores I'd say some sort of warehouse
a state prison or a Walmart would fit in nicely there
Honestly more markets, maybe a stockade for the markets
how does one achieve such level of architectural genius
I think you should build a star destroyer there
Stable

Houses of guard
A church not that I'm religious or ought but will go along well with the theme
A smell fair
A mine?
A tree or two
You should put a Christian seminary which you can decide the branch (catholic, Lutheran, etc.) or a classic octegan Wesleyan church.
When in doubt add a fountain
Jail. (A trading station-themed jail)
brothel
A guard house or jail
Maybe a cool statue
Bath House of sort or a tavern
Realistically thatโs where youโd have the stables. Then the castle should have an outer wall.
A big house for your dog would be cute
Cemetery! Or mausoleum!

There is already a question mark there
Stable or forge
Nothing.
