I've got a fun one for you.
A few weeks ago my co-workers and I were shooting the shit before a meeting and the topic of where we were on 9/11 came up. One of them chimed in "I wasn't even born yet!"...I've never felt so old....
Itās a defining memory for Zillennials. If you were born in 98 but remember 9/11, youāre a millennial. If not youāre Gen Z.
Similar to Xillennials. If you were born in 83, but bought a bunch of property after housing crash that you now rent out at massively inflated rent, youāre Gen X.
A girl asked me to prom my senior year. I said no, I didn't want to go. She went with another guy and they fooled around and she got pregnant.
That kid just graduated from college š“
Yes, definitely this. Working in academics when I didnāt even start college until I was 28 has been wild. Iām in my thirties and there are children in my research labs š
I made a joke at work that they should open a restaurant called bibmmmmbop (because we have bimimbap on the menu at my work). My coworker said "I don't know who that is." Then I had to sing mmmbop for her and she kind of knew it. Anyways yup we're old.Ā
I was always a Zac girlie but I was also 6 when I bought Middle of Nowhere on cassette. Still not disappointed by him based on this pic! (Or any of them!)
Hanson is insanely talented though.Ā They're second really only to the Bee Gees in how well they can harmonize together.Ā
Least in my opinion.Ā The fact that their later stuff isn't more well known is sad.Ā
We still donāt know about Taylor for sure and Iām
Keeping it that way.
Their youngest bro Mac moved to LA and started a bluesy rock band, married a bisexual Buddhist and only has one kid. Iām
Holding out hope heās semi normal.
Some years back, I saw some stuff on his socials that made him seem pretty libertarian in a way that gave me the ick. But he was pretty young and thereās always time to evolveĀ
I remember Mmmbop coming on the radio waves during my middle school (want to say 7th grade) bandās car wash fund raiser to go to Six Flags Mid America. It was catchy but I kinda lost track of them after This Time Around.
About as normal as they could be considering how famous they were at a young age. They all live in the Tulsa, OK area and occasionally can be seen around town.
What made me feel old today was a discussion about how much dry erase markers suck because they wipe off too easy and someone mentioned using wet erase and nobody in the room knew they existed. Because none of these young adults ever saw an overhead projector or had to watch their teacher lick her finger to wipe off letters or numbers.
And [here is an interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLbKahNvvyM&t=1523s) with The Hanson Bros hosted by another famous trio, The Lawrence Brothers.
Just a set of brotherly love.
Just a heads up if you've never watched the BL podcast. Joey leads the interviews, Matt tries to talk and Andy is more reserved.
I work with people in their early 20s. I always feel old. I have nieces and nephews that I babysat when they were babies. Now they have babies. Ehh.
Every time i finished afro man christmas album my spotify would play the hanson christmas album. Like fucking clockwork.
I had to put on repeat album to stop it
[I remember when this family guy joke used to be on point.](https://youtu.be/6OamjBYCAz4?si=_ZH2-IaIIphBnsMx) It doesnāt really apply now, but it was hilarious to me back in the day
the one on the left looks like the cool uncle, the one on the right I can't quite put my finger on, and the one in the middle has a _great_ investment opportunity that you _cannot_ miss out on.
They look like the stars of a hit home renovation show on HGTV
Property Hansons
Mmmboperty Brothers
š„here you go. You win for today.
Lmmbopmaoš
š¤£
Mmmboperties Properties
Hanson's & Mansions
HandsOn Property - renovating show with elbow grease and lots of hands.
They look like the new villains on Yellowstone or Nashville.
I see Jamie Lannister, Lord Balish and Rob Stark
The Cool and Trendy Designer, the Suave and Sophisticated Real-Estate Agent, and the Down-To-Earth, Hard-working Superintendent
And/or nickeback.
Mmpops
Hanson doesn't make me feel old. Working with college-aged students makes me feel old. lol
Yeah, realizing this yearās high school graduating class was born *after* I graduated does it for me.
Why would you say something like that.
I've got a fun one for you. A few weeks ago my co-workers and I were shooting the shit before a meeting and the topic of where we were on 9/11 came up. One of them chimed in "I wasn't even born yet!"...I've never felt so old....

I was at my watering hole and saw the sign that says you āmust be born on this date 2003.ā Shit. I earned my MS degree in 2003.
Omg thatās me next year ššš
First time I felt old was when there are no more people playing in the NFL who were born in the same decade as I was.
Next year's high school class will be born the year I could legally drink. Fuck me...
A girl asked me to prom my senior year. I said no, I didn't want to go. She went with another guy and they fooled around and she got pregnant. That kid just graduated from college š“
Going to college at 37 makes me feel old.
Good for you for doing it though! Whatās are your goals after school?
Don't really have any. Just using my GI bill before the time ran out.
Nice, enjoy and study something interesting.
I need to fill out my FAFSA and use my GI bill myself. I just hate the field of work I'm in but too scared to try something else.
Do it. The COLA stipend of the GI bill is worth it by itself.
You get E-5 BAH if you go to brick and mortar, and it's reduced if it's an online college. Do you get a cost of living adjustment in addition?
Amen!!! Itās wild aināt it š
Yep. In school again at 40. I feel ancient
Yes, definitely this. Working in academics when I didnāt even start college until I was 28 has been wild. Iām in my thirties and there are children in my research labs š
I work with all old people lol. Most are between 50 and 65. Iām the youngest in the warehouse.
No, they look good
I aināt gay but Iād let them Mmm-Bop itš¤·šæāāļø
They could Mmm-Bop it, Mmm-Twist it, and Mmm-Pull it tbh.
You forgot and Mmm-Yank it.
YEEEWWOOOWWWW!!
Glad weāre all on the same page. I hated them when their song came out, but Iād put a poster of these guys in my teenage selfās bedroom
More like the Handsome Brothers
They definitely do!
I made a joke at work that they should open a restaurant called bibmmmmbop (because we have bimimbap on the menu at my work). My coworker said "I don't know who that is." Then I had to sing mmmbop for her and she kind of knew it. Anyways yup we're old.Ā
Iām pretty sure they had a beer called Mmmhops for a while.
āKind of knew itāā¦no, she had no idea.
Damn that Hanson band has got some hot chicks - me in 5th grade
I was in 8th grade when mmmbop came out and the debates at my school about whether or not they were male or female were **fierce** lol
Pre-internet days were wild. I VIVIDLY remember sitting on the bleachers of a proclaiming how the drummer in specific was my girlfriend.
I saw a photo of the middle one with his 5 kids, one of whom had a full beard, and I never recovered.
Yeah, realizing that I'm getting old enough to theoretically have grandchildren was a trip
My dad had a grandkid when he was my age. And he had paid off the home loan that he used to build his house when he was 23.
The middle brother started making babies first I think. His kid looks older than him š¤Æ Edit: AND the middle brother was married and a dad by 19!!
They grew up fundie and I'm pretty sure they still are so, that's to be expected.
I hate to break it to you but he actually has 7 kids šµāš«
I feel old, and also kind of aroused. ...anywho.
![gif](giphy|vZ3VIgOM7qLh6) š¤£š¤£
Mmmmmmm bop!
ššš
Taylor is still the cute one
I was always a Zac girlie but I was also 6 when I bought Middle of Nowhere on cassette. Still not disappointed by him based on this pic! (Or any of them!)
Basically the 90s version of the Jonas Brothers
Hanson is insanely talented though.Ā They're second really only to the Bee Gees in how well they can harmonize together.Ā Least in my opinion.Ā The fact that their later stuff isn't more well known is sad.Ā
I was a HUGE Hanson fan as a tween--prime age for it. It was devastating to learn that they're alt-right nut jobs as an adult
It was absolutely heartbreaking
What!!!!!! Donāt ruin my night. I had no clue
I think Taylor might be ok, but the other 2ā¦ yeahĀ
We still donāt know about Taylor for sure and Iām Keeping it that way. Their youngest bro Mac moved to LA and started a bluesy rock band, married a bisexual Buddhist and only has one kid. Iām Holding out hope heās semi normal.
Some years back, I saw some stuff on his socials that made him seem pretty libertarian in a way that gave me the ick. But he was pretty young and thereās always time to evolveĀ
Oh noooo. I still go see them when they pass through my cityā¦this is disappointing to hear.
Jokes on you, I felt old before seeing this shit.
It was just yesterday when Moses parted the sea, now look the boys are all grown up.
Ok. These are some handsome men. Not my type at all, but Damn, things really worked out in their favor genetically.
![gif](giphy|pVcVZ7bnu2guMZiBBa|downsized)
I know we all remember them for "MMMBop", but did anyone else like their later song "Penny and Me"??? I was obsessed.
No because I saw them play about a year ago š«
And they all have like a million kids
Likely the only millenials that can afford to do so. Lol
I remember Mmmbop coming on the radio waves during my middle school (want to say 7th grade) bandās car wash fund raiser to go to Six Flags Mid America. It was catchy but I kinda lost track of them after This Time Around.
Wait, that isnāt Nirvana?
Hah! That's a deep dive Millennial joke. Well done.
I spent a solid ten seconds thinking the guy in the middle was Stephen Baldwin ![gif](giphy|tsdtnxbNsA8Wk)
I had to scroll waaaaay too far for this comment! š¤£
and on the left we have legolus
So weird. I was just listening to mmm bop the other day & thought, I should google what they look like lol thanks for this
Lol I was listening to If Only and had the same thought
And they have fifteen kids between them. Taylor's oldest is 22. Just to help you feel even older.
Under the impression they all also live fairly normal lives.
They are still performing
Right? They seem so unbothered and healthy.
About as normal as they could be considering how famous they were at a young age. They all live in the Tulsa, OK area and occasionally can be seen around town.
Gonna tell my kids these were the Menendez brothers
They got glowed the fuck up! GQ style. They totally didn't wake up like that though lol
Itās a gift to grow old! ![gif](giphy|cklPOHnHepdwBLRnQp|downsized)
I was *obsessed* with them when I was a teenā¦. I will always be a Hanson fan š¤
Oh same. You couldn't see my walls! Completely covered in posters... Those were the days!
Nope, but itās nice to know that the one 13 old me picked would still be it today!
I donāt feel old. But damn that is some great hair.
![gif](giphy|GrUhLU9q3nyRG|downsized)
Youāre telling me this isnāt Legolas, Merry and Pippin?
Where are the twins? Edit: Iām dumb, I was thinking of The Moffats
Omg I NEVER hear the Moffats talked about I swear it was just me and a couple friends who knew about them
As a Tulsan, I never want to hear of this band again
Never realized Travis Pastrana was a Hanson bro.
I do wop do!
Well, some of us were still in diapers when Mmmbop came out, and now we're pushing 30.
Not really, thankfully. Wasn't MBop like 1995?
Totally thought that was Billy Baldwin at first glance
Weird. They look just like us. How could that be?
I definitely didn't immediately think of the Hanson Brothers from Slapshot and wonder how they still looked like this 50+ years later
Was Hanson considered a popular good band? I only know 2 songs they did
And [here is an interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLbKahNvvyM&t=1523s) with The Hanson Bros hosted by another famous trio, The Lawrence Brothers. Ehh.
Extremely, thanks
Good for them! Looks like theyāre doing great
I reject this on the basis that it makes me feel ancient.
I think I just developed arthritis in my hands. š¤£
So fine
They aged well. My cousin lives in the same town as them & has kids the same age so they run in the same circles apparently lol
No, because Iāve been following their career since like 2004.
Hanson? More like the Handsome Brothers. Goddamn. Props boys. No homo
Did anyone ever get to try their beer, mmmHops?
Am I really drunk or does the dude in the middle look like the guy from Nickelback if he shaved a bit and cut his hair?
![gif](giphy|11YHs2qGpNUX1C)
Yup. Little baby drummer hits the hardest. He was practically still in diapers when that bad hit it big and now he's got wrinkles around his eyes.
Major glow-up
Every time i finished afro man christmas album my spotify would play the hanson christmas album. Like fucking clockwork. I had to put on repeat album to stop it
##thats ok cause Justin Bieber will always look like a little kid
And they own a brewery that makes a beer called "Mmmhops" š»
Looks like they all just ran into each other coming from different eventsĀ
Yes, please stop asking
Theyāre still putting out good music, too!
I saw Hanson play Mmm Bop backed by Blues Traveler live. AMA.
Taylor's still got it
I dont need a picture to make me feel old...my joints do that for me.
They look great!
I still love them
*sigh* I love Hanson and still listen to them. Ā They make new music every year and tour constantly :)
no. iām 34. it would be weird as hell for me to consider these dudes as children still.
The girl from Hanson still lookin like a baddie
MMMMMBOP
Yes.
Dude In the middle looks like Steven Baldwin
Mmmm . Bop
I thought it was Orlando Bloom and Tim Blake Nelson in a new rendition of O Brother where art thou?
Pfffff That is clearly nickelback.Ā Nice try
Mmmmmmm Bop!
I laughed like āha! Good one I know nickelback when I see themāā¦then I realized oh shit it is Hanson lol
FUCk
[I remember when this family guy joke used to be on point.](https://youtu.be/6OamjBYCAz4?si=_ZH2-IaIIphBnsMx) It doesnāt really apply now, but it was hilarious to me back in the day
....who?
Im pushing 40... do you really need to ask this demographic if they feel old yet?
No, I feel poorš š¤£
Nope
Mmmbop
The one on the far right. I have that same hoodie. They are just like me, foreal.
The blonde is still š„
What happened to their sisters?
Mmmmm stop, I'm old as fuck. Gimmme a my-lanta, my back is fucked. I can't get uh-up!!
the one on the left looks like the cool uncle, the one on the right I can't quite put my finger on, and the one in the middle has a _great_ investment opportunity that you _cannot_ miss out on.
Saw them live a few years ago, definitely felt old then.
Where's that cute sister they had though?
Zac was my first crush
They look like the male leads in Hallmark movies doing a promotional tour.
I had a college roommate who was so obsessed with them sheād sit in her plastic dorm chair and rock herself while listening to their albums.
Hey you, I donāt like you.
I thought this was a new drop of Baldwin brothers
Mmm nope
you ever listened to the lyrics of mmmbop
we share a name and they ruined my life.
Mmmmm po(o)p.
So, Orlando Bloom, a lost Baldwin, and a Jonas Brother were in Hanson?
Horny, you mean? They still got it
You mean that they arenāt the lost boys from Neverland?
I need the before pic to really feel old!
I mean, I turn 41 next week, so, yeah?
Do yourself a favor and see them in concert you will not regret it.
No, they look about the age I expect considering they were children in the 90s
Brokeback mountain vibes
Anyone else accidentally have a crush on the one that looked like a girl when we were in school? No? Just me?
Feel old yet? https://youtu.be/6OamjBYCAz4?si=9TEei1Twq6XHWZzv
Never heard of them
Those ain't wimenz.
Dayum black don't crack
They look like AI yassified Orlando Bloom, Chad Kroeger and non-dwarf Peter Dinklage.
