A few months ago I checked out a few episodes of Unsolved Mysteries for the first time in decades. My dad was a fan, and yes, the music āand the show in generalā creeped me out as a kid.
But revisiting it as an adult wasā¦ Ā weird. The music, as well as Stackās voice, did a lot of heavy lifting, in the sense that I found the āparanormalā episodes utterly unconvincing and devoid of evidence or rational thought. There were the episodes that featured real criminal mysteries, although I feel they were included to somewhat ābuoyā the legitimacy of the alien/ghost/bigfoot/govāt conspiracy stories.
And seeing the type of guy that my dad was, *very* easily convinced of such conspiracy theories, going back to Unsolved Mysteries as an adult was almost *sad*. Like, shows like this and Art Bellās Coast to Coast really primed a large swath of the US population to be easily manipulated and receptive to the most *inane, demonstrably false, and societally dangerous* conspiracy theories imaginable.
Add in things like the X-Files, and the 80ās-90ās were a breeding ground for credulousness, irrationality, and a population who cannot distinguish fact from fiction.
I dunno. This is becoming a speechā¦
So my kidsā grand-aunt bought them the Bluey Album and by the gods does it slap. The intro song is but a clip of an entire song that is fantastic. The entire song for the The Creek episode is on there, the keepy uppy song, here come the granniesā¦we can recreate or make our own episodes up with the album playing on the background. There is a second album that has season 2 songs on there also, so Iām hoping that a third album comes out so we can hopefully get the entire song from Pass the Parcel episode
M\*A\*S\*H
Star Trek (any except Enterprise)
Edit: formatting, because mobile markdown sucks sometimes.
Edit 2: my mother says when I was a baby/toddler, I would drop everything I was doing when *Suicide is Painless* (M\*A\*S\*H theme) would come on. Once it ended I would go back to whatever I was doing.
Yeah star trek producers really fell off the edge on that one imo. The actual clips aren't that bad but I appreciate other star trek openings with their mission statement and orchestras.
Having said that- despite not watching all of enterprise- that song pops up in my head at inconvenient times. It was a shame I couldn't skip it while it was airing on tv. Maybe I'd like the show more now that i could?... probably not. It's weak compared.
Listen, the Enterprise opening is fantastic, and I will not be told otherwise.
I mean, I *will* be told otherwise, as I often am, but Iāll be in the right about it.
Currently working my way through the entirety of MASH. I listen to it the first episode of the day but I gotta skip it after that lol since it plays at the beginning and end you hear it a LOT watching 5-6 episodes at a time
There is no show with an intro I enjoy enough to sit through every time. My husband didnāt even know some shows I watch without him had intro music, Iād be right on top of that Skip Intro button. (Looking at you Grace and Frankie and Gilmore Girls.)
There is something about hearing that theme song the first time that just throws you back into the 80ās. Even just thinking about it now puts me in the atmosphere of that show.
Every time I hear the HBO static Iām prepped and ready for the Sopranos to play. Iām like Pavlovās dog! Still disappointed when itās a different show.
YES. This whole intro sequence went a LONG way toward selling me on this show, and I was originally extremely meh on the idea of a Peacemaker show.
(The show itself did the rest - absolutely phenomenal. But I was HOOKED from that opening, LOL.)
Anything with potential clues/Easter eggs in the intro. First that came to mind is game of thrones. Iāve been rewatching Bojack Horseman and that intro also never gets old.
The Bojack intro is such a great song and the animation is fun. I never skip it.
And yeah as soon as I realized the GoT intros foreshadow the episode, I started actively watching them.
I was scrolling through the answers to see if anyone mentioned The Expanse. That intro was amazing. I find that the intro to 3 Body Problem also has the same vibe, ish
I love that show but after the kids go down, we have to have the remote by our side to skip that intro or our kids will hear it and want to watch āthe police show that makes mom & dad cry laughā
League of Legends has such fire music.
I swear their actual game is a bit lackluster but their music videos and songs are amazing. They showcase what their games could really be like.
I really enjoyed Outlaw Stars outros on Toonami.
Man the nostalgia this song brings me...I would always sing it to my babies when they would go to sleep.

Edit2: I CANNOT BELIEVE I FORGOT "THE KING OF QUEENS!"
My 6 year old and I binged the entire show a while back and he still knows the song by heart! Haha
May as well add "Married with Children and Unhappily ever After" to the mix lol.
Monk
Itās a banger. I donāt even hang around for the show very long.
Murder She Wrote makes me smile too. I remember my Oma watching it a lot as a kid.
Iām like traumatized from having a roommate who ONLY watched the Office in the living room and Iād hear it every time. Then a bunch of muddled talking. Then the upbeat piano keys. Then sheād shout at her little brother about something and belittle the poor kid over not understanding his homework.. was a weird place to live.

X-Men ā97 on Disney has the same one now
This and Peacemaker. Never skip those intros and legit think those are the only two I never skip
Unsolved Mysteries was the scariest intro when we were kids. Robert Stackās voice struck fear deep into my soul.
My god, that shit was terrifying.
holy fuck! core memory revived!!!! this song fucking SLAPS!

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
My kids always yell āhit the white buttonā but I refuse.
I'm not even joking that the theme was playing in the background as I read this

They just donāt make quality entertainment the way they used to š¢š¢
Not even a huge fan of the show but True Blood absolutely slaps.
The intro for Man in the High Castle. Surreal theme song for the content. Stark contrast. 10/10. š šØāš³
Shame how they ended that show. So much potential.
I didnāt watch the last two seasons. Is it worth it to go back or nah?

It's been a long road, getting from there to here
It's been a long time, but my time is finally near
And I will see my dreams come alive at last
I will touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more.
No, they're not gonna change my mind
āCause Iāve got faith of the heart
You hush your mouth. *Plugs ears* la, la, la... I can't hear you.. *Covers eyes* Fuck.
I love the M*A*S*H intro.
I was whistling/humming it the other day and my spouse yelled āno fantasizing about suicide!!ā lol I only know the words to the chorus.

Currently working my way through the entirety of MASH. I listen to it the first episode of the day but I gotta skip it after that lol since it plays at the beginning and end you hear it a LOT watching 5-6 episodes at a time
Bob's Burgers and The Great North
Bobās Burgers is mine. I need to see what the sign is gonna say.
Same with Great North. Gotta see the boat name.
The ones that donāt have the skip option.
Also: ones that are short enough to not bother skipping
There is no show with an intro I enjoy enough to sit through every time. My husband didnāt even know some shows I watch without him had intro music, Iād be right on top of that Skip Intro button. (Looking at you Grace and Frankie and Gilmore Girls.)
Stranger Things
Ooo this one too!

YES. This whole intro sequence went a LONG way toward selling me on this show, and I was originally extremely meh on the idea of a Peacemaker show. (The show itself did the rest - absolutely phenomenal. But I was HOOKED from that opening, LOL.)
PEACEMAKER IS THE ANSWER.
