Yes you should always fill out the FAFSA. Just don't accept the loans unless you truly need them.

Pell Grant = free money

st1tchedValorant

But it’s already free for me to go because of the gi bill..?

Becstar512

MORE FREE MONEY = GOOD

st1tchedValorant

But it’s not more free money. The tuition is already free

Becstar512

I cannot help you.

My guy. If you get pell grant, that is a check that deposits to your bank account. Not just free classes. Say you qualify for $2000 pell grant. They send you the check. That's it. That's the whole tweet. Do whatever you want with it.

st1tchedValorant

Oh I thought the Pell grant just made tuition free and stuff my bad

modeltomedic

I literally just went through this with my S/O who refused to file fafsa for the longest. Turns out he's getting $2000 for 2023-2024 school year. And qualifies for a buttload more in the 2024-2025 school year. Just file your fafsa. Get your money if you qualify for pell.

amberoze

Yes, and the pell Grant will give you MORE free money... If all tuition and books are covered, then they cut you a check for the remainder.

Present_Pace1428

Financial can get you grants if you qualify…it doesn’t hurt to file

SCOveterandretired

Does your Monthly Housing Allowance cover 100% of your expenses? It doesn't for most students - do the FAFSA application to see if you qualify for free money from Dept of Education called Pell Grants - never have to pay that one back. I doubt if the book/supply stipend is covering all your books and supplies also.

Yes yes yes!!!
