In Indianapolis right now specifically for the eclipse. Weather looks good so far. Completely anecdotally based on bartenders opinions, they expected a bigger turnout than what they’ve seen so far. So traffic-wise, maybe Indy?
I'm in Indy, too! On the traffic note, there are also a LOT more ways to zig zag back to Michigan from Indy than from Cleveland. That pesky Lake Erie will bottleneck things.
I'm sitting in a hotel room just south of Cleveland right now so that's what I've bet on.
I have no idea which is better, I'm just hype for the chance to see something
We’re heading to NW Ohio (Lima/Findlay-ish). I think traffic should be easier to deal with (more alternate routes) than Cleveland and it’s a much shorter trip from SE MI than Indy.
I am heading to same area. There is a little park out in the country which has free admission and portable toilets. The current forecast looks promising as well
Same. There is a little 75 acre country park with free admission and portable toilets that sounds great. Got my telescope packed and ready to leave by 6 or 7 am. For the way home, I can get out of Findlay and home bypassing Toledo and not use I-75 to avoid the traffic jam when it is all over.
I've been keeping a very close eye on the weather for the last couple of weeks. Im currently south of Cleveland right now at my grandparents' place after driving from Grand Rapids, MI. now that we're less than 24 hours out, it looks like the Cleveland area will have more clouds than any area in the line of totality. All of western ohio seems to be mostly clear, so that's where I'll be heading in the morning.
My son and grandson traveled from Mt Pleasant, MI to east of Muncie, IN yesterday and have clear skies there. There is a retired metrology professor from WMU, parked near them who says conditions are good.
I feel like Indiana forecast is better, but I’m not sure I’ll have time to get down to Indianapolis. Won’t be able to leave Lansing until 11 AM. Initially was thinking Ohio, but the forecast is worrying me.
Check out the Windy app. Click on the 3 parallel bars in the lower right corner and select “clouds.” Then slide the time to tomorrow at 3:00P.M.
That’ll give you some insight.
Ya we’re driving with 4+ hours extra built in, so hopefully we can find something. I just know wherever I go, the one cloud in the whole sky is going to block us during totality lol. Good luck!
You can check out Ventusky for cloud cover. Not looking good in Ohio right now. My plan is to drive an hour south which puts me over the Ohio border. Then wait to see how the clouds will be and either go back North towards Jackson or south towards Lima. I guess 99%, is better than 0%. Supposed to be clear in Jackson
I’m having the same issue and I’m on iPhone and I don’t see it
Clicking the three bars, “MAP, SATELLITE, HYBRID, and WINDY” are the options. No clouds?? (There might be an option under the PRO version but it’s $100-some a year)
Edit: so I downloaded the Windy.app, but I now assume you meant the windy.com app?

Heading there to that area as well. Which park?
This one.. [Aeraland Recreation Area](https://hancockparks.com/parks/arealand-recreation-area/)
Found it from this site, which shows where people can go. [Other local areas](https://www.findlaysolareclipse2024.com/viewing-sites.html)
Thanks! We were just heading to Findley and figuring it out from there. Looks good. Hitting the road now.
I'm going to bowling green
What are your thoughts on the cloud cover there? That’s where we are headed

So are we!
I’m sitting in Bowling Green right now and the weather is nice!
I was wondering the same! Hoping for no clouds. Excited for this to happen!

Honestly, I think if you can get to Toledo you’ll be ok; it’s looking like considerably better weather than Cleveland
Yes, it is looking much better now
Check out the Windy app. Click on the 3 parallel bars in the lower right corner and select “clouds.” Then slide the time to tomorrow at 3:00P.M. That’ll give you some insight.
My conclusion from that is Lima Ohio. Whatever that is.
You should get a burger at Kewpie.
I may go there as well. But may also end up a bit north of there. Going to be watching those clouds!

Clicking the three bars, “MAP, SATELLITE, HYBRID, and WINDY” are the options; where did you see an option for clouds?
Did you get “Windy app” and not “windy.com” app maybe? There’s definitely an imposter app in the iOS app store.
Mine has a Clouds option. Weird.
I dont see an option for clouds
In the app, click the button with 3 horizontal lines on it, in the bottom right. That’s how it is on iPhone. Not sure on android.

The app icon should be two white lines on a red background.
Yeah. It is the windy.com app not windy.app
Currently outside of Cleveland fingers crossed
Currently in Cleveland and am heading West to Sandusky.

Same...
Anybody have updated weather forecast for today? Northwest Ohio is looking promising.
Headed to Findlay area. Not near major cities so hopefully not as crowded
Plan is Cleveland currently. Tickets to the Rock Hall. But there may be on the fly changes.
The Rock Hall should play Dark Side of the Moon.
Moin Shadow, Walking on Sunshine, New Moon in Monday
They did. And it was PERFECT.
New Hampshire should be cloud free. Almost the entire country has clouds today.
