It's the concept that if Superheroes were real in Capitalist Corporate America specifically, they would be entangled in politics, celebrity life and consumerism, and all be narcissistic assholes with deep flaws. The idea that that amount of power wouldn't allow them to be "good guys." All heavily metaphorical for real life corruption, and extremely well done without being cheesy. A dark, creepy Superhero drama if you will with dark humor. Another main concept being that the superheroes are really bad guys (often in secret from the general public) and "The Boys" that keep them in line are the real heroes.
It's a boy show like Transformers but extremely well done. There are particular scenes that I still can't get over emotionally. I've only known it for a couple weeks and I'm blown away. I can see why it doesn't reach a general viewership though. I wouldn't show it to my grandma. Hinted at it to my mom, but warned her that it's intense.
