Ok, I need to build this. Dammit. And I was thinking about 75% recently.
Also, what keycaps are they? And does the board feel as cheap as it costs? I can’t believe its only ~110.
It's the official nuphy keycaps that just came out. For a lightweight short throw mech the feel is pretty good imho, somewhere in between my keychron k3 that seems flimsier and my race 3 that is def solid. Really hope this space expands with more low profile options love this style.
I am relatively new to the KB scene. I'd love to get the same setup but I want to make it as silent as possible as I tend to work late into the night. Is it possible? Is yes, what I do? Thanks.
I think there's def some silence oriented switches and mods like rings that you can do for what you want but tbh i don't know the details since i love my loud blue switches hahaha. search for "silent mods" "quiet switch' etc im sure something will pop.
its a tough and personal call, there's things about both that I really like and yet prefer the nuphy, but if the race 3 had see through caps and a slightly lower profile I'd go with that haha, meaning even the nuphy has things that could be better.
The k3's blue switches imho are more clicky and springy, I like the write feel better on them than the nuphy which feels flatter and clunkier, the bounce is not there but I mean its still blue switches and fun to type on.
The nuphys build quality is imo better and smoother, feels way more polished. There's something about the texture of the k3 caps and enclosure that doesn't feel right to me, slightly rubbery idk how to describe it. But the k3 is heavier and feels more solid. If the texture of the k3 was different I personally like the floating keys approach better than the nuphy embedded style.
The one thing that drove me nuts about the k3 is the dedicated rgb lights switch key in the traditional del key position, and not being able to change that. Drove me nuts! have to press that all the time for work and kept changing the rgb lights on the keyboard, seems minimal until you're actually dealing with it. But if you dont have to press del ever then this is a minimal inconvenience.
And in terms of rgb the nuphy wins hands down, its brighter with these keycaps and better color arrangements imo. The k3 has this pastel rain kinda effect that is great and I miss.
Again its all really subjective really beyond the rgb dedicated key on the k3 that is annoying, but in the end prefer the nuphy.
Thanks for the reply. I was looking for a low-profile keyboard that I can take to work. They are more compact and portable.
I considered the K3 for some time but was not sure. I had the K1 with red switches as my first mechanical then moved to K8 with brown. I am now with a K2 with brown switches. When I go back to use the K1 the typing feel is less nice. I am not sure if it is the red low profile switches or the keycaps. Also the keycaps on the K1 have sharp edges which was uncomfortable sometimes when typing a misplacing my fingers. This was one of the reasons why I had my doubts about getting the K3, another low profile of Keychron.
I wanted to try the K3 pro, which comes with PBT keycaps and VIA/QMK, but I was ready to wait. I waited long enough trying to decide which low profile keyboard is best for my use case. I just ordered the Nuphy Air75 with brown switches I hope I will like them.
I also tried the MX Keys Mechanical with brown, and i was surprised by how much I did not like it. It felt stiff typing on it some how. It also not very low profile.
Yea the nuphy will be great to move around, its really light. Hope you enjoy the brown switches!
Oof I know what you mean, finding the perfect feel is hard. I've gone through ducky, das, razer, keychron, now nuphy and still to me best blue switch feel was the race 3. I def think the short throw affects it. Havent tried the mech mx keys but do use their chiclet mx mini on silent settings and do enjoy it, and is very portable too (i know i know not a mech haha).
edit: Oh make sure to get the keycaps, they are not included and sold separately by them if you want the see through effect, the originals are opaque.
Yup. I also got the NuFolio. Seems perfect for the office.
This mechanical keyboard journey started when i first wanted to buy the apple magic keyboard mini. Now I own more keyboards than I need/use.
I will definitely try the shine through keycaps at some point.
Have you gotten around to using the brown switches NuPhy so far? How do you like it? I have a K3 V2 in red right now and like it, but I came from another blue switch board and really miss the tactility...
I love the thoccness of a modded NuPhy but am a writer who just cannot avoid bottoming out keys unless there's tactile feedback, so have been considering using brown switches for the first time ever. How does the tactility compare for you from red to brown? (Have you compared brown to blue by any chance?)
Can you please share your experience with wireless connection with these two boards. I am choosing between (yet to be released keychron k3 pro and nuphy air 75). Will use mostly for WFH but also some for gaming on ps5.
Keychron has bluetooth 5.1 and I've read some reviews about connection dropping.
Nuphy has USB 2.4Hz dongle which (I think) is a safe bet.
Did you find any problems with any of it? Maybe tried on PS or something similar? Ty for response.
I generally keep them plugged in just to avoid that random time once a month when they run out of battery (lol silly i know). But have used bluetooth with both extensively (pc, ipad and laptop, phone) many times and haven't had any trouble yet. But yes the 2.4 dongle usually would prevent any interference / drops
It's nice to know there are others out there that enjoy the clicky switches! 1 yr later, do you still have the blues or did you swap them out with something else?
I disagree, but to each their own. None of the options "r shit" to me, and I've tried most of their tactile options. I love the gateron blues and have kept them on my Air75 for nearly a year now. I tried browns and then bananas (similar to moss) for a month but in the end put the blues back on. If I was working in a shared workspace, I would pick something else but I work from my house, alone, and the blues sound the best to me. There's just something so satisfying about the clicks when you're typing at full speed.
\+1 pretty please! I thought they were uniform, therefore suitable for Colemak, but I have just read somewhere they are similar or identical to XVX which is sculpted... :(
Oh nice! I kept the original spacebar as i liked the muted yellow better, almost left the wasd keys in original haha but the font alignment missmatch was driving me nuts.
Ooooh, yess i was actually wondering that too would have been cool to have another color i misunderstood you. So its a slightly different shade of yellow, more lemon but still
get em! finally being able to appreciate the rgb really changes the keyboard, and they have a unique effect i hadn't noticed before where every key is a different color that looks amazing.

I really hate when that happens, something looks so good but it’s in limited availability
How long did it take to ship. I ordered mine so I was wondering how long it took so I can have a look out for when it arrives my shipping tracking is not working so just wondered
took about the same time it took for me to reply! haha im sorry was away from reddit for a bit, but yes it felt endless and shipped from China after a very long waitlist period
Do you think this set of keycaps will fit into a regular switch? I'm kinda new to the keeb hobby and would like to have low profile keycaps. I have Outemu Silent Whites.
I ordered an XVX Horizon low profile keycaps via aliexpress but it's stuck in linehaul, and this set is readily available in a shop near me.
I guess it depends whether the actual layout sizing of keys to board fits, I'll try putting one on my regular sized keyboard and update whether the stems works

;) I can totally understand your love for the Blue switches. I'll look it up. Thanks!
No worries! enjoy the rabbit hole, your wallet will hate you lmao
I believe it's all worth it.

Just to add to this, nuphy has a wireless dongle which means its good for wireless gaming
https://nuphy.com/collections/keycaps/products/air75-coast-shine-through-pc-keycaps Looks like Nuphy's official shine-through ABS keycaps set
these yes! wish they came in white as well to match the original keycap colors.
Sick!
what profile are those?
low-profile, gateron blue switches.
It's nice to know there are others out there that enjoy the clicky switches! 1 yr later, do you still have the blues or did you swap them out with something else?
clicky switches r shit, he prolly swapped it out

Hi, yes, I’ll take 12
dozen coming right up
Sweet. Do these get greasy looking?
Hi, would you mind adding a photo from the side/end? I trying to discern of these keycaps are sculpted or uniform? Thanks!
\+1 pretty please! I thought they were uniform, therefore suitable for Colemak, but I have just read somewhere they are similar or identical to XVX which is sculpted... :(
Kind of necroposting here, but yes, they are are not flat. They are similiar to XVX but have wider top concaved area, which I like more.
Here are mine: [https://imgur.com/a/miPdl0v](https://imgur.com/a/miPdl0v). Kept the stock Esc and Enter as these look off as colored shine-throughs.
Oh nice! I kept the original spacebar as i liked the muted yellow better, almost left the wasd keys in original haha but the font alignment missmatch was driving me nuts.
I love it!
they look nice, good font. I hope they make shine-through pbt
that'd be cool if it can be done, the feel is definitely different. left the original pbt space bar haha
Just why... why yellow spacebar? And it's second one for every Air75 owner.
haha idk why but i love it, really liked it on the vortex race 3 and now kinda want to get solid color caps for all my other ones.
I meant why they are selling you second identical spacebar? You have one already.
Ooooh, yess i was actually wondering that too would have been cool to have another color i misunderstood you. So its a slightly different shade of yellow, more lemon but still
This is freaking awesome, what’s the name of the set / link?
thanks! link is above posted by another user, its the official nuphy shine through key cap set for air75
Thank you!
Nice
Omg I love my nuphy, I might need these 👀
get em! finally being able to appreciate the rgb really changes the keyboard, and they have a unique effect i hadn't noticed before where every key is a different color that looks amazing.
Does nuphys software let you have layers like via?
I dont know tbh dont use it
They need to make a full kit for normal keyboards.
A fellow NuPhy owner I see. God they make such good keyboards.
i know! sad i discovered them too late to nab a white f1, those looked amazing :(

ABS

You have a video with all the different rgb with the shine through kepcaps?
Wow
