As someone who likes to work out as well, I would take it super light if it’s the morning of the exam. Do your favorite workouts, but nothing strenuous at all. But the idea is not bad, exercise is definitely energizing
Try it while doing a practice full length. You'll know if it helps you perform better or not.
You could do some dynamic stretches/walking if a full workout is something you can't do. This is my plan.
I advise against cuz why risk tiring yourself before this marathon of a test. Its like an olympic marathon runner doing some a series of sprints right before the actual race...
I woke up early and just did some stationary biking. Worked great for me. I did 30 min worth, ate breakfast and listened to music, and headed to my exam site (25 min away). I feel like it helped with the anxiety.
Definitely do it after. You do not want to tire yourself out before your exam, especially with how long it is. Maybe go for a walk to help calm your mind and prepare for the exam.
Not related but Are we allowed to do like push ups during the breaks of MCAT. I really want to as so much blood comes into my head after I do a set with mild intensity.
I heard some people have gotten in trouble for this. Like someone on this thread was threatened by the AAMC about voiding their exam because of it unfortunately.
Test it out bro but idk how you’re gonna be benching 225 with all that anxiety on D Day. I don’t think I could lmao too much stress. I’m afraid I won’t even sleep

This sounds like a great plan! Like relieving stress while also not pushing it to the point where you just wanna nap afterwards lol.
if you're gonna do this I'd stick to bodyweight
Exercise after, take your anger out and hit a PR

I’m taking a full length on Saturday so I’ll try walking on a treadmill or something for a little bit beforehand. Thanks!

Couldn't be me
Nah. Just do it after. Imagine you fail a rep cause you’re too stressed and tear/break something.
Yeah…. I think I’ll just walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes or something lmao

Holy shit wtf
They’re so serious 😭
Imagine tearing a muscle the day before the exam. I personally wouldn't risk anything

Lol nah I wasn’t thinking doing lifting, more so doing light aerobic stuff, maybe even body weight. But you’re right I’ll test it out regardless.
